Thanks for all the well wishes guys. It was call a partial amputation , it really wasn't' that bad, but the bone was cut through. I'm actually surprised how much it DOESN'T hurt. The numbing shots wore off around 10pm last night, and I had 1/2 of a painkiller (Norco 325mg) around noon today. It's just slightly throbbing. I still can't believe I did this. I like to think I'm very good at my job, but this accident has me baffled. It's like Michael Jordan shooting an air ball at the free throw line...doesn't happen. Yea the Dr said since the bone was severed, it will take longer to heal, more chance of infection, and I need to be extra careful for 5-7 days so the bone can align up correctly and heal. My wife is at my daughter's swim meet, when she gets home I see some Duggans in my future Carl....I do have a pic if anybody wants to see it!5 points

I think that's the first time I have ever heard that before. That's funny3 points

Anything called a partial amputation is never good, especially when you use the word bone. Mine was just the tip and there was no pain either and not much blood ? Good luck3 points

Might I also say SAE and metric, just not at the same time... Wasn't it Ridgid that claimed this innovation, but in the last decade or so?3 points

Because dying is more socially acceptable. I know, it's a foreign concept to me too.3 points

I would if my mind was fully functional but my body was not. Especially if my days were numbered in weeks and I still had things to do, places to see, etc.. We have 'right to die' legislation, why not 'right to try'?3 points

A lot of Black Sabbath's iconic guitar sound was because of Tony Iommi's fingers. They were badly injured in an accident at work. I would say he made the best of it.3 points

Like everything else there has been significant improvements in micro surgery in the last 20 years. Too late for you but a trained surgeon with good equipment including magnification can usually attach digits with a high chance of functional success. There is a surgeon currently looking to attach a terminal patient's head to a donor's entire body. If this works as hoped, there are millions of potential recipients.3 points

Afternoon gang Just back in from Ace hardware/welding supply/HD. This mornings Coffee brought me the wife telling me we have another car that was dumped around 3Am. Third (Honda) this year, called it in, meanwile ran back the DVR, couple young punks, 20s, burned a disc for the PD. Gave it to them when they showed up, hour later, car was removed. On with the Hobby(s), Rv antenna ongoing. Trying to rain.3 points

I had a reattachment as a child. It took, but the joint doesn't work. Thanks to having the slightly truncated digit, even without the functional last joint, percussion was still in my future.3 points

Sorry to hear of this, we have ALL had our little deviations with things that spin. Duggans is about as strong as a good wine. It's all about taste and flavor, no one ever gets buzzed on the Duggans, you would get sick first.3 points

You can use as few or as many as you like. I typically use just 3 across the couch as I have a bad layout. Doesn't do any good to repeat location.2 points

I use forum member @MetropolisLakeOutfitters Now. I use to always use acoustic sound design. But I don't like the way they do business. They list everything as open box or b stock for cheap prices in order to get around the rules of not advertising below msrp. They didnt use to do that. You just had to have someone tell you to call to get the best price. I'm not a fan of people cheating the system. So they no longer my business or my recommendation.2 points

Well it all started with the adds in Rollingstone then I heard Paul was going to be at The Stereo Bug in KC. Had my mom take to meet him and he gave me a hand full of cool yellow buttons he did not treat me like a stupid kid which amazed me.. Then the salesman turned on the K-Horns powered by that little B&O system that looked more like a slide rule toy lol. Then I swore Klipsch speakers were going to be in my house. It took me till 1980 though. First started with AR2ax then Altec Model 9 I think it was [ below ]. I bottomed out the woofer on the ARs sold those after having them repaired. Then I sold the Altecs to a friend. Drove to a stereo store in Overland park and ordered New LaScalas with top grill. I really could not afford them but I scraped the cash it up some how..lol2 points

My friend was given a pair of Promedia 2.1s by his uncle when we were both kids, and even for their place in the Klipsch lineup they were some of the best speakers I'd ever heard. I still think nothing sounds better for $150. You also have to like that they've been true to the Klipsch mantra of getting it right the first time, it hasn't had a serious update since 2000 because they really don't need to change anything. As much as I'd always liked them, I never got my own pair. But they're the reason I bought my first Klipsch floorstanders, and my second ones, and my subwoofer, and now my Heresies, so who knows what I'd be missing if not for those $150 computer speakers.2 points

First Klipsch I ever heard were the ProMedia 2.1 demo at best buy. Even with those teeny, tiny little horns, I could tell something special was going on. I bought the ProMedia set and aimed my sights at a set a real floorstanding pair. By the time I landed my first big ones, RF-35s, I thought I had raised my expectations high enough, but was completely blown away! I had never heard speakers anywhere near this level of performance. I will never forget the expressions of shock and disbelief when I played "Enter Sandman" for my friends for the first time. Almost 40 pairs later, I've settled on KLF-30s.2 points

It sure is, most trophies are mostly plastic except for the really good ones2 points

As usual everybody overlooks the red headed step child when talking used speakers. For unparalleled dynamic range take a look at some used Epics. CF-2 good, CF-3 better CF-4 sit down shut up and hold on.2 points

I'm not sure that I, nor the rest of the world wants me to have that choice...2 points

I hope they were able to reattach the missing piece of finger for you. If so, don't be surprised if it takes some time for the numbness feeling in that digit to go away. Usually months to years.2 points

Good idea, a little land for privacy and a house comfortable you you, it doesn't matter what everyone does, leave that when you move. And a barn, they always come in handy, like to store Carl's bike.2 points

Just be happy it was not worse, lefty, did something similar with a table saw, it scares the hell out you and your afraid to look at first. You'll be fine just watch for infection, and saws.2 points

Absolutely. You might not like the atmosphere after a few Del Taco stops though. You'll always be downwind.2 points

Mark, thanks for the wonderful shipment, a very nice bottle of Duggan's Irish Cream Liqueur. I've never tied it, but I have a feeling this is the good stuff. I had a mishap working at home yesterday, it involved a Dewalt cordless saw, ended with 5 stitches and a severed bone in my little finger. It was a bonehead move, and I still can't believe I did it. Mark, give me a day or two to get the meds from my system, and I'll give the Duggan's a try(maybe I should have some now) Bill1 point

That's a good idea but maby just go nuts and buy a cheap set of silverware, at the rate you have been in the past it would last you a lifetime Will you have to narrow down the area to move by the need for a del Taco location ?1 point

Just for the record, this was posted by Wardsweb last week, and it's the cleanest sounding sub I have ever heard. It replaced 2 KPT-684's and is clearly the winner, but it is a vented horn, a first, and it's patented. Just another opinion, from a bunch of people whom have actually heard it. Posted as he was sitting in that room. Lounge section page 11021 point
