  1. Ok, one at a time. Acid. Coffee can't be worse than OJ in that regard. OJ on an empty stomach burns like crazy and coffee doesn't. IBS???? Coffee helps move thing along. They're clueless. Empty stomach? Who said we weren't eating?? Dehydration? I make my coffee with water. Serotonion? Sounds like a good start to not overeating. This must have been created by the tea growers council.

  4. Matinee Today First Course courtesy of Midwood Smokehouse: If you're ever here in this town, look`em up. That's some mixed brisket under the (rub) ribs. Mac & cheese, slaw, pickled onion, smoked jalapenos. And no I did not eat it all, this is two and a half meals for me! The melodies provided by Columbia Records and Weather Report: Have a Nice Day!

  17. They could always put a couple of very good Zep cover encores, back when we got more than one encore out of some bands. Ann was still pretty last time I saw them. The stomping got so synchronized that the coliseum shook! Wonder if the bands felt it? I'm sure they did. They knew we were f'n lit `cause of the nature of the smoke and the liquor bottles flying. That was before that stampede and the seating charts. When they blasted disco to chase the stragglers out. They never did this one, and couldn't, `cause they were not Zeppelin.

  20. --- I'll put more thought into it this year. And if we ride down my consumption will be very limited and early. I never drink/ride and getting on/off the property can be dicey on a road bike along with country back roads at night. All very good reasons for having your wits about you. Well helll I ain't drinkin' I just may follow with more thinner ---

  22. -- they actually do and quite refreshing I might add. Wanting to contribute I looked and looked, asked the store owner a few questions and brought three bottles with me last year. Mr. Slushie had a look at them, made a couple comments and as I recall they were never opened. You would have thought I stopped at the local Ace and bought their finest paint thinner.

  24. IMO, easily worth $300 and a road trip. I'd pay $25 to hold until arrival.. Hate to drive a distance to find out sold.

  28. If it ever got down to it, for a potential Belle owner, to either buy a pair in this price range, versus building a pair from scratch, the price posted for these is quite good. I would have to bounce that price around a lot if they had come up close to me. But for those interested in what I have in mine in parts, this is a pretty good price out below. Just remember that I had all of the tools to build a pair so that helped. It would be hard to put a price on what the cabinets are worth because they would be worth more to me than someone else. Klipsch K-33 woofers is what I used but can't say what I gave for them. So, Crites CW1526C woofers @ $275/pr plus s/h Crites A-55G mids @ $320/pr plus s/h but these are $350 now. Crites CT120 tweeters @ $225/pr plus s/h I built a pair of Type AA crossovers from scratch but a person could get a used pair and upgrade the caps for maybe $200 or $310 from Crites. Or spend more. I'm using $200 as a reference here. A pair of K-500 horns. Well, good luck with this part because they never come up except for a rare occasion. But lets say $250/pr. I bought a "kit" of sorts from a fellow forum member that included original stock grills, K-55 mids (sold and bought A-55's), Type AA crossovers (still have but built a new set), and the K-500 horns. 3 sheets of Baltic Birch plywood for $120 because I got a great deal from a good friend. 3 sheets of ribbon Mahogany veneer for $120 again, because a good friend let me know of someone selling it. Buying this somewhere would get quite pricey Then figure black paint, some silicone, wood screws (had some but got some more), hardware for mounting woofers, feet for bottom of bass bins, Mahogany edge banding, contact cement and rollers, General Finish Seal A Cell & ArmRSeal, and whatever else I can't recall off the top. Maybe $250. Could be more. So you tally all of that up and you get $1,790 plus s/h depending on how you buy, your gas to go get things, etc. Wood will probably cost you more than that if you can get a hold of BB in your area, ribbon mahogany will cost more shipped typically or you might go with something more exotic, and you could maybe build the Belle look and make a 2-way out of it using Faital driver and horn for extra. I can't put a price on the enclosures, really, but I have a good idea in my mind what I would charge for a pair if I were to build them for selling. That's another story, though. So was it worth it for going through all the trouble? Yep. It would be a rarer than rare find to come up with a pair of MHR, MHL, or MHO versions of Belle's out in the world so I consider myself to have something cool. Although not Klipsch manufactured, they are built like a brick sH1t house, sound awesome, and look quite awesome I believe. But I definitely didn't spend beyond $5k on a pair. Bottom line, two grand for a pair of Belle's in good shape, minimal cabinet work, etc., is quite a bargain. Once you start changing drivers, crossovers, etc., you end up a ways north of what you originally spent although you could recoup some expense from selling off original drivers. At that point, the cabinets are the only thing original...and the design. They sure look good, though. Just some rambling. Nothing more. YMMV.

  30. Well since slushie boy won't say if he has tried it or not I'll tell you what my history professor once told us. Maybe not as smart as Carl, he was one of the foremost authorities on bourbon in the US and did his dissertation on bourbon. He could link bourbon to all important historical events. Dr. Crowgey was also our fraternity advisor. His advice "if you're going to mix it with anything go for the cheapest, highest octane alcohol because once it's mixed you're tasting the mixer. Save the good booze for drinking neat or on the rocks". I put stock in that advice and would also venture that price is not always indicative of a good pour. YMMV.

  40. I would expect nothing less. You don't google search vodka. You go out, buy some and try it. If you like it, put it in your memory banks. If you don't, move on. Personally I prefer potato vodka over the grains. A VERY inexpensive yet good vodka is Monopolowa.

  41. Has anyone here tried Reyka vodka? I did a google search of 5 best vodkas for martinis and this was the least expensive. The quote was something like "vodka doesn't get much cleaner than this gem from Iceland". $21.

  42. My setup. IMO black look the best. And actually I do like the look of the ii’s better than the iii’s. As I rock my speakers without the grills, I like to see the grain on the front. Nice touch.

  43. Yea check all connections and screw terminals.....Make sure the mid driver has good washer and is tight to horn. On my 1s i reinforced the back panel with a smaller piece of ply on the inside and put seal tape around the edge . Got a pic of crossover we might tell if its wired correctly. Here is a schematic of H1. Also pic of the tag on the back.
