  1. He moved! lol Billion Dollar Babies is the sixth studio album by American rock band Alice Cooper, released in March 1973 by Warner Bros. Records.[1] The album became the best selling Alice Cooper record at the time of its release, hit number one on the album charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and went on to be certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The album has been retrospectively praised by such critics as Robert Christgau, Greg Prato of AllMusic, and Jason Thompson of PopMatters, but The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004) gave the album only two and a half stars. Now he's venturing into uncharted waters. Already commented about the box contents. lol It's 7th spin w/a new one stashed. 20k pressed in 2022. Totally an amazing listen! :)

  15. Think ole John is workin his way to the head of the class. He's pushin buttons now. lol Funny cuttin someone loose with good taste. 😂 Leon Russell is the debut solo album by the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Leon Russell. It followed his debut with the Midnight String Quartet and a production by Russell and Marc Benno billed as the Asylum Choir. "A Song for You", written by Russell for this album, is a slow, pained plea for forgiveness and understanding from an estranged lover. The tune is one of Russell's best-known compositions. It has been performed and recorded by over 200 artists, spanning many musical genres. Elton John has called the song an American classic.

  26. Well it seems I won't be posting images today, delayed yesterday waiting on battery recharge, that failed. So now waiting for new battery, well 3 really, one for each camera that now needs a new one. I am not waiting on the batteries though to continue, and @Full Range I did try the hemp oil rope, as well as PTFE tape, and a few other slippery options, and found the most sensitive to be the graphite. I put a request in to Bird Precision on a set of spring loaded jewels that would fit the housing replacing the pivot screws, and working out a pin arrangement for a future test. Again a TY to @Full Range for the brochure, I had forgotten the damping of the tonearm bearing, mentioned in the Brochure of being butterfingers. So I disassembled things once (3 times) again and found the right grease for the cylinder. Today is the cleaning and oiling of the walnut, clean and assess the top plate (Paint it??), clean and polish platters, repair the power switch, oil the motor, no need to tear it apart though, not this decade, then on to the next phase. will be firing up the Thorens today as well...C U soon

  27. I like the harmonica in this song And you may notice that on certain harmonica sections the sound is unique - Now my memory on this is because the harmonica was tweaked internally to give it that unique tone Enjoy

  29. The title reads like some seedy Craigslist ad! But that's right, I have an 11" long laser engraved piece of swag for your audio room. It's natural oak, so you may stain it whatever color you like, or leave it as is. Free! You just cover the shipping. (My way of giving back to the forum!) I can do more laser engraving if you're interested, just drop me a line.

  39. Sounding better by the minute! First thing was I had forgotten that I had inverted the plugs of the speaker-cables when I first hooked them up, they sounded strange then. Now that I switched the new woofer for the old Visaton one I noticed that the stereo-image was wrong... As I said, I had forgotten about the cables. Back then I thought I had hooked that cable up the wrong way at my receiver, now I know that the previous owner wired the woofer wrong. That was part of the reason some of the acoustic information got lost... Now everything is as it should be, woofer wired correctly, cable wired correctly at the terminal-cup. Sound is much more coherent now. I will continue to use this combo K 1005-K and new woofer until the new unit has run in. George: As for why he picked the Visaton? My guess is, he just chose the cheapest option with the right diameter. Also, he didn´t know which specs the K 1005-K has, like I didn´t. I was lucky enough to have had a lucky search on Ebay to find my source.

  42. I'd say that whether it's worth to you to put up rear Atmos speakers depends on if you've been satisfied with the experience you've had with your from Atmos speakers. If you have, then it's likely worth it as you will get more precise overhead effects localization and more fully immersive ambience sound from Atmos/DTS:X content. As to whether kg1 and RS-3 II are appropriate speakers to use with a Belle/Forte ground layer, this will depend on several things. Firstly, wide dispersion surround speakers are not recommended for Atmos/DTS:X. All the major immersive surround formats (Atmos, DTS:X, Auro 3D) specify monopole (i.e., direct firing) speakers for all channels. Secondly, whether small speakers like kg1 (which are almost about as far away in capability from Belle speakers as you can get in vintage Klipsch) will work for you is going to depend on whether your receiver/processor has enough usable gain to overcome the sensitivity mismatch and whether you are sensitive to sonic mismatches between the ground layer and the height layer. Most people think that sonic (timbe) mismatches are just related to frequency response. While that's true, what's even more important is distortion mismatches, both in quantity and quality (types and profile over the frequency range) of the distortion. While frequency response mismatches can be somewhat mitigated by room correction systems like Audyssey, distortion mismatches cannot be fixed. I'll explain what I mean by this. My experience with this is very much like what @Coytee described. My main theater system in my basement consists of seven Palladium speakers in the ground layer (P-39F mains, P-27C center, P-27S side surrounds and P-37F rear surrounds). When I first decided to upgrade the theater to Atmos, I hung four Klipsch AW-650 outdoor speakers from the ceiling. I figured that these would be superior to most in-ceiling speakers for Atmos. They do work quite well as Atmos speakers. However, over time the mismatch in sound character between the ground layer and the height layer started really bothering me. I realized what was bothering me was the lack of midrange clarity from the AW-650. The AW-650 crossover from the horn to the direct radiator woof at 3400 Hz. The 3-way Palladium speakers do this in the 500 - 600 Hz range. That means way more of the midrange is reproduced by much lower distortion horns on the Palladium speakers and therefore have a much cleaner midrange. (I suspect this is something of what @Coytee experienced with the Academy (crossover at 2200 Hz). I owned an Academy for a short time as a center for original Forte. I wasn't satisfied with it for the same reason I mentioned with the AW-650. I ended up replacing it with a single Heresy II (crossover at 850 Hz).) So, I switched to front and rear heights using Palladium P-17B bookshelf speakers on high shelf units. Yes, overhead localization of effects was slightly less precise, but the coherence of the entire immersive sound field was much better due to timbre matching of all channels. Also, overhead effects occur much less often than other immersive sound in most movie soundtracks. So, I prefer the timbre matched heights much more than having precise overhead effects. If I ever add Atmos to my living room Jubilee mains/ Belle center/La Scala surrounds 5.0 system, I will likely purchase Klipsch cinema surround speakers like the KPT-1260H or the KPT-250. These hopefully should be able to reasonably "keep up" with the ground layer. Using these would be much easier than attempting to hang Heresy speakers from the walls or ceiling. Here's a picture from when I was first testing the Palladium height speakers but hadn't yet taken down the AW-650.

  45. I always find it entertaining while reading through the many differing thoughts and opinions in some of these threads. My 2 cents about the passive comments of those being concerned about them not looking right... Well, the two times I really noticed my passive radiators on my Forte II's; 1) When I placed them in my system when I bought them 2) When I took them out of my system when I sold them I don't know how some of you are listening to your speakers with passive radiators, but sitting behind your speaker in a corner staring at the PR is not on my recommended list of ideal listening spots. Maybe you're on to something and I've been missing out? Just a though! Happy listening.
