One of the doctors at the facility where my wife and I work has a desk made from a wing section from a Beechcraft Bonanza. He's a bit eccentric, and his office is full of all kinds of crazy stuff. The only reason his desk is empty here is that everything was removed while he was on a cruise so they could put new flooring in.5 points

@Mycuff Don't worry about a thing with that turntable. He's got room for ONE more tone arm! I can't wait. I KNOW it's gonna happen! ๐ ๐ช๐๐๐๐3 points

You see Dave , the problem is if I gonna do that , how shall I put a disc onto the platter ? ๐ NO, itยดs fine like it is ! And Iยดve got an option to make a heavy tonearm out of the middel heavy MA 505 , all I need is to use a much heavier headshell than itยดs a heavy one , I did that with my AT V7 MM allready beacuse this cart needs a heavy tonearm for optimal scanning2 points

Gotta thank @Full Range for this post. It's story time! The two-hour drive to Detroit just to hit the "Roostertail" for teen days was almost weekly for me as most everyone knows. I started into Motown since I'm ancient. Just a few "white" kids in a predominantly "black" club havin fun catchin a groove w/ALL the artists of that era. It wasn't anything like things are at some places today. I'll just stop there with that thought. When I picked up "Sixto" Rodriguez's "Cold Facts" lp that Paul mentioned and then someone mentioned maybe Marvel his history. A bell went off when I searched him out. A group of kids I knew were talking about this dude who was BETTER than Bob Dylan who just lived down the street. I totally blew that off cause NO one was better than Dylan. Little did I know. Sooo, if you don't have his "Cold Fact" lp I highly recommend adding it before they're gone. I did another thing too. I picked up another of his before it's gone. It's VERY different from "Cold Facts" as his lyrics and presentation are featured imore n the final mix. Sad that he's gone now and his lp's are breaking out all over. Paying back now for what a lot of us missed by listening to Dylan. Yea you really do need both to complete "yourself" if you're anything like me. Thank me later! BOTH are 5-star from me.2 points

The Soul Sessions is the debut studio album by English singer and songwriter Joss Stone, released on 16 September 2003 by S-Curve Records. The album consists of cover versions of soul songs from the 1960s and 1970s, in addition to a cover of the White Stripes' 2001 song "Fell in Love with a Girl" (renamed "Fell in Love with a Boy"). In 2004, The Soul Sessions was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and was nominated for a MOBO Award for Best Album.[2][3] This woman makes me wonder. Some love her and some give her a "blah!" I picked up her most recent lp and had questions. It was a good lp but not a Joplin voice at all but a mix maybe? A Janice wannabe? Nah, but Joss is still VERY different. I just couldn't put my finger on it. I went back to her first lp, got a notice it showed up so I snagged it. She's got her own style that's for sure and it's different yet still make me wonder. She's good. Darn good. Her delivery is also amazing. She's different in a sometimes great way in other ways not so much. What say you? Signed. Stumped in Ohio! ๐2 points

Nice lil double JJ Cale "The Silvertone Years" lp from Music on Vinyl #372 of 1500. If ya like JJ Cale this is one h3ll of an album. If ya don't really know his backstory ya might wanna check him out. My advice if ya want a RIDE don't waste anytime and snag it while ya can! He's special and this double lp is worth every penny. Pricey but KILLER!! ! John Weldon "J. J." Cale[1] (December 5, 1938 โ July 26, 2013) was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Though he avoided the limelight,[2] his influence as a musical artist has been acknowledged by figures such as Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, Waylon Jennings, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in rock history.[3] He is one of the originators of the Tulsa sound, a loose genre drawing on blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz. It's kind of ironic. When Andrew Lauder of Silvertone said he'd like to put out some tapes, I just got a bunch together and they put 'em out as an album. It wasn't till I got to listening to the album that I noticed that I'd written a bunch of tunes in the last four or five years about towns, and places, and travellin' around. Another great one gone too soon!2 points

Time to unzip a few! Gotta get outta this "waitin on the plumber" state of mind. No problemo on this Richard Wright "Wet Dreams" remix/master by Steve Wilson here @Full Range. Tight, clean, open and just sounds amazing. Crazy good lp. Wet Dream is the debut solo album by Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright, released in 1978. Wet Dream was self-produced and Wright wrote all the songs himself, except "Pink's Song", which was co-written with his then-wife, Juliette, who, as Juliette Gale, had provided vocals to a pre-Pink Floyd song "Walk with Me Sydney". Wet Dream was recorded at Super Bear Studios, Alpes-Maritimes, in early 1978,[2] the same studio where bandmate David Gilmour would record his eponymous solo album just weeks after the recording of Wet Dream. Wilson's work has totally opened this lp up from the original pressing. Crazy good and just keeps getting better.2 points

Will leave for the moment others to explain their recc's. As satisfied as you are with your positive synergy with your Energy/Pioneer experience, at least you can come back to it if, you try your 7s. Would decide then if you want to open at some point. A buyer may well want to buy unopened, but then again others will like to see and hear, inspect. Some value and desire for the center and the 7s remains. The Energy Take 2 bookshelves from earlier I had and found those really decent. Klipsch has owned(?)that brand since 06. Would keep the Pioneer then to power the Klipsch to see how they pair up together. Care should be taken to not damage the new 7s as they are large and heavy, of course. Just my take, so far. BTW, would take pics of your factory sealed boxes as could use some later.2 points

I have the RF-7 II's and the RC-64 II's so I can only talk about those. I have driven them with: Seperates: Empotiva XPA-5 Rotel RMB-1075 Rotel RMB-1095 Receivers: Pioneer VSX 56TXi Denon AVR-5700 If you're planning on using the RF-7's for home theater (I wouldn't... too much speaker and you're not using it's full capability. Unless you also use your home theater for 2 channel as well) I would get a decent processor and buy a used Rotel RMB 1075 (120x5 at 8 ohms) or the Rotel RMB-1095 (if you want to just brag about headroom! 200 x 5 at 8 ohms).... these are the best amps I've been able to afford. They paired well with the RF-7ii's and the RC-64II's I have. If you're planning on using the RF-7II's for 2 channel, I'm sure someone out there has a good recommendation for an amp.2 points

The reason is that my collection of cartridges needs a very light tonearm , thats the SME 3009 ( left side ) and a middel heavy tonearm , thats the MA 505 ( right side ) . They all have different needle compilances. If you want to get more aknowledgement Iยดll kindly refer to read this thread2 points

That turntable rig is insane. I assume there is a reason for the two tonearms, but if you already have perfection what does the 2nd one get you?2 points

Great shirt! OK, so here is what I was playing most recently. This is my Dual 1229Q TT, which I hook up when I want to play quadraphonic (what the "Q" is for). I have several vintage Pioneer turntables that are also quad "rated", but the Dual currently has an AT 1440MLB cart which is the only one that can do CD-4 (quadradisc) records. Sticky Fingers is, obviously stereo. Can't you hear me knocking?2 points

Nothing really around the Knoxville, TN area. I think I'll take a trip up to Paducah, Ky to check out Paducha Home Theatre. Looks like they carry several of the Heritage Series.1 point

Ok. That makes sense now. I do understand that changing the counterweight alone does not change the tonearmโs impact on the cart. I just thought you had to have two turntables or swap out the tonearms!1 point

Well since I didn't keep one bare I couldn't compare them in the speakers. Subjectively they sound better, but that may just be wishful thinking. I did compare how they sounded when I knocked on them duing the application. The wrapped one went thunk and the bare one rang like a bell. It was a fun activity, and I cleaned all the dust bunnies out of the cabinet.1 point

Welcome, Rob! The best speaker I had owned were a pair of JBL studio monitors, about the same size as the Heresy models. I still have them, but in the early 2000s, my older son came home from school with a pair of Heresy IIs for my birthday. They were a used set... the JBLs moved to living room duty. The HIIs are still here, currently my main speakers. I have had other Klipsch along the way (larger, pro models), but the Heresys will stay. Each newer model really is an improvement over the previous one. If I wanted another set of that size and had the money, I wouldn't hesitate to get them. Bruce1 point

My horns are out and all cleaned up. For those of you who have wrapped your horns, did you just measure and cut the pieces to fit the four sides, or do you think it is necessary to overlay the material? My Kilmat is arriving today, hopefully. I'm going to first tape them with the yellow easy release Frog tape and then put on the Kilmat. I'll post pics when complete.1 point

. Will this be your first pair of Klipsch speakers? If they are stock, then they will have the K77 tweeters , K55V drivers on the K700 horn < that is for mid-range frequencies , and either the K22 or K42 woofers , for the bass. And the cross-over networks might need new capacitors and there is only one place you can buy them. I love this--thanks for some much needed comic relief, W&T!!!1 point

Hello, you would be mixing reference speakers read, home theater speakers with speakers typically designed for 2 channel stereo historically. While you can, you will likely have a timbre conflict. The 83 are decent speakers and a near tossup when paired against the rf-7 even, per Michael Stevens testing a few years back.1 point

001, I appreciate what you are saying, but for me woodworking it is a soothing pastime I enjoy doing in the garage while listening to tunes. I am not so much looking for a killer deal as I am to just make something with my hands. Essentially, I will be building a pair of Crite's Cornwall I's with all Crite's parts. HPower, I am in San Antonio, TX. I have been in contact with Michael and he should be able to help me out. Thank you!1 point

it is as much about the loudspeaker as it is the amp. (for example) The Cornwall was voiced for tube amps the Cornwall ll was voiced for SS amps add to that any preference that you may have and it comes down to you doing some listening and picking your own poison. (in the case of the Chorus) The moving mass of the K48 (woofer) is around 78grams so it is still light enough to be driven by smaller tube amps and sound good or larger SS amps. (no matter what kind of amp you choose) How it will sound to you only you can say.1 point
