  4. As a LSII owner I can confirm that the bass bin does get some decent vibration if you crank them loud, Loud as in 112db at 10 feet. But the LSII tophat has large rubber feet that fit in sockets on top of bass bin and even at that SPL lvl there is only a tinny amount of vibration in the tophat. The bigger issue by far is the ductwork rattling in the ceiling, pictures rattling, stuff falling off shelves ect

  6. Can you insulate it somehow? Expect colder temps in the future...it's global warming. My backflow device froze solid a few years back...couldn't figure out for a little bit why I did not have water one morning. Next time it was checked it failed bent by the ice. Had to replace $500+. Damn straight I got an insulating bag before the next winter.

  7. Snow is gone , 50F here , strong winds and heavy rain , received a letter from my health insurance today , my rehab will start at feb 12. till march 5th. Looking forward to that health treatment and trainee as I can´t stand these daily pains anymore, I´m tired to take so much pills against the pain since a couple of month. My Liver will be glad as well 😂 Still having too much problems with my Wlan in that apartment , the providers net isn´t perfect in this part of the city , it´s too slow and takes to much time to load a thread and follow up all posts in the kc. However....I´m with you 🤠

  12. I’ve actually been thinking of this, the dilemma to safely remove them from their boxes. Hardwood floors here, it’s ideal to put a blanket on the floor and open the box from the top or bottom and invert and pull up? As beautiful as MicroMara’s post above of these walnut 7s I’m probably going to lean toward opening these and swapping them into my system to audition.

  13. I agree whichever route you take whether new kd-15 or re-cone you should do both to keep the sound the same. If you purchase new kd-15's you could always sit on your good kd-16 just in case a used one in good shape ever pops up but they are extremely rare to find it could be years. Of course the @Chief bonehead could always do us a solid and put the kd-16 back into production for the Chorus IV with the k603 horn..

  15. Yes. It was dark and I was scrambling. I happened to have a ~ 12" long x 5/8" drill bit handy.. Drilled for all it was worth, no water. Grabbed a pick and dug back a foot or more, cut the PVC pile, and drilled again and struck water that time. I will make a few changes. lol IKR

Dang I've gotten bad then Willie, three or four ounces a week, and I saw how my fave flavor has gone up $25 since I picked up several of them last spring! Glad I picked up a half a dozen then! After not going above freezing very much at all since Christmas it's 50 here today. First snow in the new home for me will be gone soon. Took this yesterday here in front of the pc, there's a little less now.

  21. A wealthy art collector’s lawyer said "Saul, I have some good news and I have some bad news." The art collector replied, "You know, I've had an awful day, Jack, so let's hear the good news first." The lawyer said, "Well, I met with your wife today, and she informed me that she has invested only $5,000 in two very nice pictures that she thinks will bring somewhere between $15 and $20 million ... and I think she could be right." Saul replied enthusiastically, "Holy cow! Well done! My wife is a brilliant businesswoman, isn't she? You've just made my day. Now, I know I can handle the bad news. What is it?" The lawyer replied, "The pictures are of you and your secretary"

  23. Your setup is beautiful but I wonder how you could have these in an apartment and not be evicted? Even in a condo without getting warning letters from the association would be beyond my mind. I’m more tempted than ever to open mine up and audition them than just trying to sell them as sealed units as they are now. What is this VIABLUE? You have your 7s biamped?

  24. One of the doctors at the facility where my wife and I work has a desk made from a wing section from a Beechcraft Bonanza. He's a bit eccentric, and his office is full of all kinds of crazy stuff. The only reason his desk is empty here is that everything was removed while he was on a cruise so they could put new flooring in.

  27. Everything vibrates. YOU are vibrating right now as you read this. Vibration control is a real thing and most every component in your system benefits from it if you are willing to put forth the effort. It's also another reason why massive entertainment centers are detrimental to the sound. What you sit your components on matters, so why wouldn't you expect vibration control to benefit speakers?

  31. Compared to todays equipment SIZE is with out doubt a huge issue "pardon the pun". My HT currently consumes the entire living room and I have to sneak around my couch. Fortunately I have no females to report to at this time so I can get away with it. Should this not be the case there's no way I;'d get away with it. I've heard many sound systems both 120v and 12v after 20+ years in car audio but I can't speak highly enough of my current set up. Upon intial set up, a buddy let me borrow a Bluray Batman movie which I popped into the PS3 after following my vacuum cleaner around the living room. Started watching the movie (first Bluray ever) and when the first round of action/bottom end kicked in I almost got fired off the couch, went to retrieve another beverage from fridge and noticed some white particles on the freshly vacuumed floor. It was the stuco from the ceiling. I cracked the ceiling through the cement/plaster crown moulding and it snaked for another 7'. Can't complain about these speaker ! !

  32. Good Day Ah..... Plan to audition a pr of 76 Cornwalls in the near future, anything you guys can recommend I watch out for. Not a fan of paying good money and getting ripped. Also what are they generally selling for in the various parts of continental North America ? My intent is to use them to replace my EV Interface C's

  34. Free Wheelin Franklin, gotta love it. Back in my 12v car audio days I actually made a driver over extend so far that it would not return down into the magnet. It tore the spider and the voice coil sat to the side, what a sight to see and it wasn't from plugging it into 120v either, just raw USA 12v car audio amplifier power....

  37. I am not too old..but can remember some of the great rivals in the NBA . The Boston LA rivalry is probably the most famous and exciting in recent history. Although not to be outdone by Boston of the heydays...the current Celtics put on a stellar performance last night to overcome a 21 point deficit to win. I watched as Kobe Bryant, arguably the best player in the game currently, was shutdown by the defense of Pierce. The game was excellent but as the record is now 3-1 Boston, LA is done. anyone else watching this series?

  38. A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales. The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal its throat wasvery small. The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale. Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible. The little girl said, 'When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah'. The teacher asked, 'What if Jonah went to hell?' The little girl replied, 'Then you ask him'.

  47. My house was robbed a little over a year ago, they took about 200 cds, over 100 dvds. The biggest shock was, they took my SVS 20-39 out of my second floor, took it all the way out to their car, and couldnt get it in. Yup, they had to leave it in the driveway. The strangest part was , I had received the sub *THAT DAY*. I had gone home at lunch (I lived really close) and hauled it upstairs, set it up, played with it for an hour...then went back to work. Got home at 5, and it was in the driveway. They passed on all my klipsch (3 heresys, 2 sp1s, 2 kg2s, sc-1, 2 ss-1s..) passed on the Marantz 8200 receiver, but took its remote (299$ yow!). Insurance ended up paying for all of it, even though they tried their hardest to screw me Being robbed sucks, it made me fairly paranoid for a few months about my gear, thinking they might come back for it. -MKL
