  2. Just finished up a lil ride. Things were sounding pretty darn nice today. Buffalo Springfield is the debut album by the folk rock band Buffalo Springfield, released in December 1966 on Atco Records. Band members Stephen Stills and Neil Young wrote all the material on the album. Most subsequent pressings of the album from March 1967 onward replaced the track "Baby Don't Scold Me" with the standalone single "For What It's Worth", which was ascending the US charts at the time. The single eventually peaked at number 7 on the Hot 100,[8] while the album reached number 80 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. Toulouse Street is the second studio album by American rock band the Doobie Brothers. It was released in July 1972, by Warner Bros. Records. It was the band's first album with bassist Tiran Porter and also the first with drummer Michael Hossack to augment existing drummer John Hartman, putting in place their trademark twin-drummer sound. Toulouse Street is the name of a street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The cover and inside centerfold photos were taken at a former brothel on Toulouse Street. The album peaked at number 21 on the Billboard 200. Spirit was an American rock band founded in 1967 and based in Los Angeles. Their most commercially successful single in the United States was "I Got a Line on You". They were also known for their albums, including their self-titled debut album, The Family That Plays Together, Clear, and Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus. The "Best of" was put together with their hits from 1967-70. Hmmmm, gonna have to dig 12 Dreams out. Such a great album. Yes is the debut studio album by English rock band Yes, released on 25 July 1969 by Atlantic Records. After forming in the summer of 1968, the band toured extensively across the United Kingdom with sets comprising both original material and rearranged cover versions. They signed with Atlantic in March 1969, and entered Advision and Trident Studios in London to record their first album. Yes includes covers of "Every Little Thing" by the Beatles and "I See You" by the Byrds. The Amboy Dukes is the debut studio album by American rock band The Amboy Dukes. It was released in November 1967 on Mainstream Records. The album is noted for containing an energetic recording of Joe Williams' blues standard "Baby, Please Don't Go",[2] as well as covers of Pete Townshend's composition "It's Not True", and Cream's "I Feel Free".[1] AllMusic said that the album fused "the psychedelia of the early Blues Magoos with Hendrix riffs and British pop" and described the song "Colors" as psychedelic hard rock.[1] The publication compared "Down on Philips Escalator" to Syd Barrett-period Pink Floyd, and said that "The Lovely Lady" "almost sounds like the Velvet Underground meets the Small Faces by way of Peanut Butter Conspiracy."[1] :)

  6. Loved that version of the Steppenwolf song @ the cd thread! This was on the side, not bad at all. Saw this guy twice in a small place that held less then 500, twice in a 13k coliseum too! James was the perfect singer for that group!

  26. I read that they would give him $466 trade in if he bought a pair at $1050 each. So 2 x 1050-466=1634. At least that's how I read it.

  27. Actually, the forte IV has a smaller footprint than the heresy IV. Granted it is taller than the heresy IV.

  31. I suggested the same listing back on page 1 of this thread. Considering the 8000 Euro investment in the speakers, I thought this was a relatively small price to pay to get them operational again.

  33. I get it, everyone wants to be helpful. It’s admirable. I hadn’t noticed the value on the electrolytic. Yeah, it look like he’s running AK-3’s in his AL-3 La Scalas. Very little difference of course - just that low pass shunt cap. Now, if you want details - You will have to check with my technical lead (who actually understands math). @mboxler

  34. If I build something and it stops working, I expect the end user to send it back to me. I will stand behind my work, and there will be no charge, regardless of what I find. However, If they start poking around, etc. - all bets are off and they are going to get billed for the work. I can’t really figure out this insistence on digging into this network when I’m pretty sure Michael would take care of it at no charge.

  41. Sent the youngest daughter the majority of my old Domke bag full of Nikon gear before Xmas. She's doing pretty well in Scottsdale and is just like I was. Always on the move just doing more constructive things. lol I raped and pillaged where as, she's just rapin wallets in the business world. 😂 I'll give ya a lil heads up. Keep and eye on Taylor Swift's head @ the Super Bowl. Either her or Andy Reid since it's his last game. I'm guessin! Don't say it. 4 years in a row w/Album of the Year??? 51B$ world tour? Flying in for the game from Japan then right out to Austrailia? ANYthing she wants... Might be for her tour too. I dunno but it's insane. I've been trying to teach her how to shoot via text msgs and p;ointing her in the direction of a great photog in Phoenix I know. Hours on end texting and trying to guide her. Drives me insane since I haven't touched my gear in 20 years. lol Couple F4's and an F5 with the manual fast lenses 28, 35, 50, 135 and 180. She's been sharing some so thought I'd dump some of hers. She's been working the Waste Management PGA tour stop in Phoenix for about 5 years. Good ole #7 the local party hole. Last week she got this one and was totally clueless. About Wednesday she's gonna get a chunk of glass she's not expecting. Sending her my 400 2.8 for the golf tourney. Will keep her out of trouble w/the boys teeing off. They won't hear a thing. She was in San Diego and sent me this w/the 28mm 2.8 so asked why didn't she go in and shoot up too? lol Never thought of it she said. ha! Then it was coffee & cars one Saturday morning in Scottsdale somewhere.

  44. Well, if you like you KLF-10's , I would suggest picking up a pair of black KLF-20 or KLF-30's for you mains, and move the KLF-10's to the rear for surround duty. You will have to find them used, but they pop up all the time if you are patient. KLF-30 and KLF-20 specs. I am really please with my 20's

  46. GREAT work on the homemade KLF-10 center. I bet it is actually better than the C7 due to the 10's and lower frequency response. The C7 lacks the lows of the 10. ---------------- On 7/14/2005 1:23:02 PM kentmjohnson wrote: I am looking for a KLF-C7 as well. I might be interested in doing what you just finished doing. Does the KLF-C7 use the same x-over/circuitry as the KLF 20's do? If the C7 has a different x-over/circuitry wouldn't that make your rig sound totally different? Just curious because I am definitely interested in what you did. Thanks ---------------- For this KLF-10 Center, it sounds like Billyjoe used the Crossover that came in the trashed KLF-10 box, which would be the right way to do it, instead of the C7 network for the different frequency response. The C7 and the KLF-20 use a different network. The C7 is a two way speaker, with a frequency responce of 75Hz-20kHz, and a HF crossover of 2000Hz. The KLF-20 is a three way speaker, with a frequency response of 34Hz-20kHz, a HF crossover of 7000Hz, and a MF crossover of 750Hz. You can always build a C7 and buy a brand new upgraded Kstack network for it from a forum member by the name of Popbumper (Chris). You could also buy a new upgraded Kstack network for KLF-20 from him if you go that route, which would be a better match having 3 of the same going across, even better that the nicely matched, but a little different C7).

  47. I am moving my HT setup into a new house soon, and was laying out my 5.1 surround setup. I have Wide Dispersion Surrounds that will get mounted 7 ft up on the side walls 90°s from the sitting position. I was wondering, if anyone has mounted their WDS/Dipole surround tilted down, with the woofer in the middle pointing the seating position? It seems, even with the Dipole, this would give a more direct sound than the traditional flat on the wall mouting. thoughts? experience?

  48. SCOOTERDOG, I never though about pointing the tweeter to the sitting area via vertical mount. That might be something to try. My thoughts were more along the line of horizontal mounting, and the tilting to point the woofer to the listening area like ygmn described.... hmmmmmmmmmm

  50. I am about to be faced with a similar choice. I am going to aim for using the wide dispersion speaker for sides, and the bookshelfs for rears when I convert to 7.1, but for now, in my 5.1 setup, I am going to use the luxury of having both sets on hand to test to see what I like best. Do you have access to these speakers to test them? Because as the post above states, you ultimately need to see which sounds better to YOU as both will work.
