  3. Slightly OT: Crawl spaces are cool because speaker cable can be installed under floor. tc

    RIP Prince

Eldon, A little late to post but... Back in the day I bought the Purple Rain album and liked a couple of cuts. Since then not a drop of him. Such a weird thing about this. I have spoken to several about his death and they feel bad as do I. ????? Why? I only listened to two cuts!!!! Seti visited Saturday, we discussed it and came to a conclusion. Prince could be thought of the some way as many might think of Elvis Costello. Both are under our radar but they should be respected for their work. tc tc
  6. Just thinking that the system is a bit lite on subs.....????
  7. 902 on Altec 511b horn. Cross at 500hz
  8. Good price for a great tweeter. tc
  9. Yes I understood what you said. I would like to think that you understood what I said.
  10. No, no. DIsco/dance, hip hop, and funk have their own acoustic signature. ...You're not talking about culture...are you...? Chris Oh no. I wouldn't dare. But you are exactly right. It does come down to genre and I don't listen to Brahms very often
  11. Yes, there are trade-offs to every design. Horn-loaded bass is high on my list of desired qualities however because of the tightness and transparency of sound, very much like what Richard Heyser referred to as the "closing car door" effect when reviewing the Khorn. It sounds real--not like a disco. Chris Disco? Ah man that was low.....
  12. What? No 510 tweeter? And James...some would question the sanity of running 4 684's in a home environment smile
  13. It is refreshing to read that some of the the bass horn guys admit that this is subjective. Yes there are tradeoffs. Many will trade a little flabby for extreme impact. tc
  14. Just killing me, too funny too true. Now just admit it and dial in a nice little discreet sub. tc
  15. I too am a Delgado fan. His pro cinema units are some of the best Two Channel speakers I have listened to. Correct me if wrong... My understanding is that the Epic was his first solo design for Klipsch. ??? And at that time the Trax equation (the horn) was not well received by PWK. ??? In my forty four years of owning multiple Klipsch speakers and chasing great sound systems I have listened to one Epic speaker. (the big ones I think) All said and to play the dark one: If they are wonderful, why were they made for only two or so years? tc
  16. Yes. I like fast cars that can turn.....both left AND right. tc
  17. Again to be cost effective. Use Tin foil. It never blows. In high current applications Mr. Coat Hanger can to cut to fit. tc
  18. Rock, Years ago I checked into a HI in Jonesboro. Small bar had four CW's flying! tc
  19. I agree. Save money and buy music! Been using old coat hangers for years. (the painted ones only) tc
  20. The new ones..... Decorator CW verts shipped from Hope in 1972 Walnut CW's in 1975 Other used Klipsch in later years
  21. , Mark, to my ear the quality of 6922 is about application. Example: In a power amp tubes like the Jans 6922 sound very good and are cost effective. But the front end (pre amps or CDP's)is a different story. One must pick and choose to find the really quiet ones... and they can be hard to find and expensive. I put NOS 60's Siemens 6DJ8's in the AH! CDP the sound was worth every dime! That said, I do love the 6h30 in my Peach and how it sounds In Super Merlin. tc
  22. Placing the woofers vertically moves the horn closer to ear level. tc
