You can buy the original ones from JEM. I bought some for DIY for my AAs very reasonable, if you want the original sound. I just thought I would put this out there Randy must have the day off.

Thanks Henry 4841, Good reading, I have a Fleawatt with TPA3116 chip that Derek Sanderson built me it is more tube like with his mods on the amp. I really like it also. It amazes me seeing the Fleawatt and the Topping PA5 in a rack with thousands of dollars of tube gear and I think I might be in the Class D camp. I really like the sound on the K402s Rich

I got one of the PA5s today. It is a KEEPER for sure! So clean, detailed and natural sounding without the harshness. Dead silent on the K402s. Pretty amazing actually for the money. Rich

I don't have any equipment to test what you are asking. My ears are the best testing equipment that I have available. IMHO I think 40-year-old caps are out of spec and need replacing.

The Mavericks Band are great I have a lot of their music. I saw them at Stubs in Austin TX.

I ordered some from JEM they are only a little over 100.00 with shipping. I am going to see if I can hear a difference with these 65 old ears.

I met a forum member at my house years ago, he bought some gear from me. We were talking about stereos and what we have had through the years and chasing the best sound. He told me but at the end of the day it is JUST a stereo. I will never forget that a lot of truth to that.

Duratex Leather look with satin black topcoat. They used to be white laminate. I did not like white, so I did the Duratex leather look they came out great. They have the K77 Alnico tweeters. The tweeter diaphragms have been replaced with OEM diaphragms. K55V midrange driver measure great. K33 Square magnet woofers measure great. AA crossovers have all been recapped. I have several preamps Mapletree, Schitt Audio and a Cary clone. My favorite lately is my Transcendent Grounded Grid Preamp. Most transparent of all of them. You can get them used very reasonable. Rich

If they were mine, I would send them back. In 2007 I got some new black K horns that were not painted on the edges. I always regrated not sending them back, instead of me finishing the paint job it was very obvious. I don't know how it got past QC. It was not freight damage the paint was missing in a lot of places. Rich
