  1. What are you using as a preamp, if I may inquire?
  2. Super nice looking, Good luck with them. Are you using a tube amp with them?
  3. Tell your kids to look on eBay there’s a pair of Quartets in Oregon for $599 right now.
  4. Is this the model that sold for $250 back in the day? Steve
  5. I had the PD-5VH mid drivers and recently installed the A-55-G/2 and find it’s a great upgrade. Worth it in my estimation.
  6. Your daughter seems very wise, unfortunately for you too wise.
  7. Hey guys this is a smoking deal, I had Craig rebuild 5 Scott amps between 5 to 9 years ago - including two 299C’s and they all run beautifully, with my Cornscala’s and for the price he’s asking I would jump on it myself if my wife wouldn’t kill me first! GLWS! Steve
  8. Before he upgrades to the LaScala or Klipschorn he should try a 15 to 25 watt per channel tube amp. He’ll be in heaven before he knows it!
  9. I would think 7/8th of an inch marine plywood is better than 1 inch MDF …………but I never did test them.
  10. Marine grade plywood is pretty good quality plywood for a speaker. I didn’t know they were made with it.
  11. You need to change those capacitors in the crossovers. They look original which is around 50 years old. Way old!
  12. I don’t know of anyone who’s done a cap change on speakers that new, Heresy series lV you say? The original caps are hard to beat and have many years left on them. Anybody disagree with me? Inquiring minds, you know.
  13. I use a Goldring 1042 with my Empire turntable. Exquisite! Steve
  14. Try a tube amp with ‘em. Cornwalls love tube power!
  15. They are great sounding speakers, I wonder how they would sound against a new pair of Forte’s?
  16. I’d take no less than $1,500 for them. They look nice! But that Bose amp does nothing for them. Uggh!
