  1. KLF-20's in excellent condition for $275??? That should be a no-brainer right there! Grab them quick before they're gone.
  2. I really like my Klipsch RB-5's, had them running in the bedroom for awhile powered by a Jolida 102 tube integrated at 20 wpc and they sounded wonderful. Sunfire makes a fantastic, palm sized ribbon speaker that sounds great, the CRM-2 but they sound best with a sub.
  3. Damn! Someone better snag these up quick!
  4. Isn't that grill badge from a KLF-C7?
  5. Try and pull the T/S specs from a good driver and then search for a match if you can, good luck!
  6. One hell of a deal right here! I had the 15" version (friend still owns it) and the amp went out shortly after purchasing. I installed a BASH 300 for something like $110 and it sounds even better than it ever did and its still running today a few years later.
  7. Very nice! Reminds me of Bender a little. He could always go back and "clock" everything if it became bothersome to look at, I personally didn't notice until it was brought up.

  9. You would think with the same mid horn / driver combo and the same tweeter that they would sound more a like than different...
  10. Good luck on your sale, looks like a very nice speaker!
  11. Do you know what the difference is between the two, K-61 & K-62?
  12. I'm really curious about the 301 II's mid range horn as it looks similar to the K-61 in the Chorus II but has a 2" Titanium driver. I wonder if you could mount a K-55v to the horn and install it into a Chorus II?
  13. Welcome! If you already have the speakers I'd say give it a try, what do you have to lose? I've stacked speakers and ran multiple centers before and thought it always sounded great, but that's just me.
  14. Nice score, that was a really good price. Are the horns the K-61's like in the Forte II / Chorus II's?
  15. Well, finally got both subs up and running in my system. Initial impressions are good but I'm not "blown away" near as much as I expected. Don't get me wrong, they sound great. Very accurate and they hit low. My room had many "dead spots" with the RSW-15, those seem to be completely gone with the new subs. They blend in very well with the Chorus II's, seem to add the bottom end without really standing out as being there, which is perfect. The high bass seems to be near non existent though, at least compared to the RSW-15 which seems to just belt out the high bass. I'm guessing that since I'm not running the Klipsch amplifier which is said to have built in EQ adjustments that these sub cabinets are tuned very low and the KA amplifiers drags out more of the top end out of these. Also, I'm not sure I have these powered correctly with my Samson amplifier. I have it running in stereo which is 750 watts RMS at 8 ohm. These subs are rated at 600 watts continuous each but the Klipsch amplifier is rated at 1000 watts RMS (500 each) but peak output is rated at over 3000 watts or 1500 watts each. I believe the Samson puts out good continuous power, just not too sure about "peak" output as in not much over rated power or additional headroom.
  16. What model receiver are you running? The fact that you just changed that out and now don't like the sound leads me to believe it may be a mis match of components. Lower end receivers often over state the actual power output and some of the really low end equipment just plain sounds like crap. Also some brands tend to put out a more forward, some what harsh sound even in the higher end models that just don't sound good with horns.
  17. Trial and error would be best as each room is different. I would think that a higher crossover setting would reduce any change in low frequency though. I know that with my Chorus II's the bass changes quite a bit from being too close to the back wall (less than 8 inches) and out too far (more than 16 inches.) Also placing them too close to the side walls really exaggerates the bass. I find at least 12-18 inches from the side wall keeps the bass even. Keep in mind that every room is different so its best just to take some time and try moving things around until it sounds right.
  18. Looking at the specs and driver compliment it appears as though it is identical to the Heresy II except for tweeter protection and cabinet materials??
  19. I personally like the KG 4's better than the RB-5's but both have there places and are great for what they are. The RC-3 is actually one of my favorite center speakers, especially for the size and price you can pick them up for. If you're having problems with voices though that sounds like the center speaker is what's not sounding good. It may be just a setting on the Receiver?
  20. Some how I ended up with two pairs of these wonderful speakers and with the recent addition of my KW-120 pair I no longer have room for these. I have them listed locally on CL and on eBay but these are only being offered locally. I'm located in Snohomish WA, about 30 miles north east of Seattle. I'd like to get $500 cash for these, thanks. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Klipsch-Chorus-II-Speakers-w-Crites-Titanium-Tweeters-Local-Pickup-Only-/221580387001?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item33973862b9
  21. The 18 UM is a friend of mines sub. I told him before he ordered it that his cabinet was a lot smaller than recommended for that driver but he ordered it anyway. He basically said that's the driver he wanted and if it sounded bad in the cabinet he already built than he'd build a new one. So far it seems to sound OK, excellent for home theater as it still shakes the hell out of everything. I think the SI sub sounded better and went louder in that cabinet though but he seems happy with it. Does anyone have any driver or amp specs for the KW-120 setup? Should I try and locate a Klipsch amplifier or would an INuke work for these subs? Thanks.
  22. We were driving the SI pretty hard for several hours and it just got too hot. The thing that I found odd was we had turned down the music to a reasonable level (able to talk over it anyway) for at least an hour before the sub started making noise. I can understand a sub blowing up when you crank it too loud or give it way too much power but this one just seemed to over heat. When we pulled the driver out of the cabinet the magnet was easily hot enough to burn flesh, in fact it stayed too hot to touch for well over an hour.
  23. I believe you're correct at 500 watts each sub with the Klipsch amp. I'm going to give the Samson amp a try since I already have it. I was originally planning on building my own cabinets similar to these KW-120's and using Some JL 12W6's. A friend of mine just built (or I should say assembled, he ordered a flat pack) a 5 cu ft ported box for a Stereo Integrity 18 but that blew up in about a week, voice coil rattles something terrible to the point that its not usable. He replaced it with the Dayton UM-18, that's the sub I'll be comparing the new pair to. The 18" sub literally blows away my RSW-15 in every way except for maybe the higher bass notes.
