  1. OK, Soon I'm gonna upgrade the electronics. I want more Headroom, Dynamics, and life like sound. I'm running my 80 WPC Denon which drops to about 60 to 65 watts in 5 channel. So I need some serious advice. Do I go with a Outlaw 5000 @ 120 WPC or something like a Marantz SR 7012 @ 125 WPC. I want the most Current/ Amperage for 5 Channel. I think when a Lower tier Denon like mine is put in the 5 channel mode for music it loses alot of ----oh it just sucks the life out of music. If I bought the Marantz--I would worry about that too since it's an AVR. Outlaw's next model up is 7 Channels @ 125 Watts so power is minimal. Some good opinions by you Experienced Guys/Gals would really help. I want to make a Quality Purchase and I do have some flexibility in spending but don't want to spend as much as the price of a car. Thanks
  2. Bob Seger is Still the Same.
  3. Hey Sammy, Either one would be fine. Take your pick.
  4. I ❤️ Radio. I can listen to anything from anywhere. If I miss Rush Limbaugh from noon to 3 I tune in my Hawaii Station since they're 6 hours behind us. Music--Talk, Most things for entertainment at home or in the car. At Home though I usually use Apple itunes
  5. About the only time I get ear fatigue is if I'm listening to bad Bob Dylan recordings. If you get it from good recordings your system is set up wrong. I can listen all day and not get "Ear Fatigue", just great sounds.
  6. I've owned a couple of Goldwings Yeah, they're quiet but they can be very fast in the right hands. Almost like riding a rocket. I had a 1200 cc and a 1500cc. I liked the way the 1200cc was geared the best. That bike could take your breath away. I rode "nice" with the wife on the back.
  7. I'd use 16 gauge wire--18 is too small Look at these refurbished receivers--I bought a Denon, works fine and saved me money. Within your budget. https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/denavrs930h/denon-avr-s930h-7.2-ch-x-90-watts-a/v-receiver-w/heos/1.html https://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/pionvsxlx302/pioneer-elite-vsx-lx302-7.2-ch-x-100-watts-a/v-receiver/1.html Take a Peek
  8. Don't tell the "Other Forum" you own Klipsch. They'll make fun of you and tell you how BAD Klipsch sounds. They're not very nice. GLWS
  9. Personally I can't see spending large amounts of money on cooling fans when they can be had pretty cheap. With a USB port, I'd consider a Laptop Cooling Pad. They're inexpensive and QUIET. They come in various configurations from 1 fan on a chassis to 4 or 5 fans. All you want to do is draw heat away from the AVR. Amazon has a Boatload of them. Some even have pretty red and blue lights--Hahahaha. You can get a pretty nice one for 30 bucks
  10. I quit buying 5.1 "Sound Mixes" Some were good and some I didn't care for. On DVD Hell Freezes Over was very good but you got pictures. Music I can just let the AVR decode stereo into 5 channels. It works pretty well and saves me money. As said before, some mixes sound better without the center but most stereo sounds good decoded through the Denon.
  11. No reason to return the speakers until you're sure you have everything properly connected or you'll have the same problems with a new pair of speakers.
  12. If they do not sound right you either have your connections wrong or you AVR setting are wrong. This is a very nice speaker that really should deliver good sound. Sometimes when setting up a new system you make an error. Go back through and recheck everything, Get it right and it'll be great.
  13. Welcome to The Forum. This should be Pretty Easy. Get some Oxygen Free Copper "Speaker Cable" 16 gauge is the smallest I would use. I also would use Banana Plugs for the ease of connecting. You really do not have to pay High Prices for wire, just get a good quality and a decent thickness. If you live in a city, you should be able to go to a store and find what you need. Personally I think Best Buys wire is way over priced especially the interconnect cables. I buy my cable at Partsexpress.com and other things I want. I haven't bought speaker cable for a while and I use a 12 gauge for my mains--I like big wires. They're high quality and last for years.

    Mom

Sorry to hear of this Sad News---Know your mom loved her boy.
  15. Decent Speakers should be able to do it all. I don't need 2 different sets for HT and Music. I do have is 2 different settings, 1 for HT, different settings for Music. Because TV and Movie sources sound different from Music Sources. If I had the space for more gear--a separate room--I might use other gear. A decent speaker system will be good enough for The Masses.
  16. As long as the power is Linear, can it hurt ?
  17. The RP has a better crossover, better cabinet, different cone drivers and a different tweeter. The Horn Material is also different.
  18. Even being a lower tier Klipsch, which I have, they will be different from the Infinity. I think they will produce a lot more bass and a more open mid range sound. Buy them, They have a comparable crossover and build quality. I think if you even moved down to the 6&1/2 inch driver towers, you'll like them better too. They'll also be under warranty, I enjoy mine.
  19. Well, you'll be like a dog chasing it's tail. Sure, you'll hear different systems that offer different experiences than what you get. You can take that experience and tailor your system to help you replicate the sound that you found pleasing without spending tons of cash for new equipment. Even if you bought the same gear you just listened to, that doesn't mean you can achieve the same sound because you're not in the same acoustic environment. It might even take a little experimenting and Altering Settings and God forbid, Tone Controls and or level settings. You'll go out, spend all that money, then hear something else that makes you drool---then Repeat. You have Klipsch MAN, get with the program. Be Happy.
  20. Oh heck, get a couple of those cheap air mattresses, throw a foam cover it, and tell the wife it's a Sleep Number Bed--Generic Style. You'll be Happy Happy Happy.
  21. I didn't know I had Chicken Pox as a kid. When the Dr. told me I had Shingles, I said "Bullshit". But he was correct and I'm still feeling it. It can give you nerve damage.
  22. I got the vaccine After getting the Shingles 2 years ago on Dec 6 2016. I remember because I was laying in bed and it felt like someone stabbed me or a bug bite me in the back. I went to the doctor within 36 hours which is optimal for treating Shingles so I didn't get as bad an outbreak as the guy pictured--but let me tell you--After 2 years I still itch where the pain originated. Shingles was one of the MOST PAINFUL ordeals I've been through. Anyone that has had Chicken Pox can get them at Any Age. I have been told by my doc that I need the New Vaccine and when my insurance kicks in the first of the year--I'm getting on the list. If you have the chance to get the vaccine and refuse and then get this dreaded malady---You'll be more than sorry you didn't get the shot. I was lucky that my "belt", shingles come in a belt was in my mid section. I've known people who had it on their face, neck and head.
