That is really neat! Klipsch should start a heritage add campaign based around this type of rugged individualism. Its a no brainer and would give them great recognition. if some beer companies can get people to drink their flavorless beer, you can do anything with great adds.

A friend of mine pulled some quarter size chips of paint off the inside of his K402 throats with tape.Trying to keep dust out, he placed taped fabric near the drivers exit holes. When he removed the tape, a single layer of black paint pulled off. The layer is very thin and on the tape you cant even feel a ridge, on the edges of the chips, but inside of the horns, you can feel very slight ridges. The chips are about 2 inches from the screens and are on the top and bottom flairs. How will this effect the sound? I think I heard a little upper midrange chatter. Thanks! any ideas would great!

I am having a problem right now with some nasty Robins . They have taken over about a half sq mile of forest around my house, and have kicked out all of the forest birds. It is really lame, all the beautiful bird calls we usually hear are gone, all that's left are some eastern phoebes. The Robins even attack squirrels, I need a plan....

I would just keep them off balance if you are worried, get a rcv of your choice and confuse them, then get into your car.......Depending on the type it might be considered harassment....

I had a very dirty receiver, just took the cover off, sprayed almost half a can of electronic cleaner, wiped of the sticky grime with small pieces of paper towels and tons of q tips, and kept spaying the cleaner, then let it sit for a few days. When I was done it looked brand new and worked as it should.

Thats an awesome setup!!!! Don't know how the shindo cabs sound, but good 604's in the right cab will make most speakers sound silly, but you need a good setup, great recordings and lots of time... Plus it depends on how you like to listen... If you want to hear behind the track and all of the good and the bad or most that is there, In some spaces they can make a cornwall sound silly....

Ragga I have some clone bins and k402's, I am about 5hrs away in MN .If you are ever up this way, you are welcome to hear them.... All I can say is they are special....

What did the riser do in your opinion? and why have these not sold yet? 2k for these, 2k for 402's 300 for a Dx38 and you have the potential to have a system that will make systems in the tens of thousands sound silly....What is so amazing about this design, thanks to PWK and Roy, it is so flexible, these beasts even work in small spaces....

I have heard this combo, in a compromised space and it was still very impressive.....sadly they weren't tuned properly for MUSIC....... then you have the issue of all those watts, integrated properly it can work, but its all about the space and a lot of math.....

There needs to be laws enforced about "concert level sound". I took my wife and my young son to a Sir Paul concert , trying to give him some history and my wife who once hated the Beatles, I cant find a ? she doesn't know the answer to about them. It was so LOUD, we had to leave after about an hour and we were about 375' back from the stage wearing ear plugs. We tried to escape to an upper deck, as far from the stage as possible and still no relief. As we were leaving they were blowing off fire works and you couldn't hear them, the good thing was outside the open air baseball stadium walls, it sounded ok and we sat on a bench and listened to the rest off the show. Nothing like going to a concert and wearing ear plugs and having your fingers trying to close off your ears and its still to loud.

Do I see orange in the throat in the one picture? if so these aren't your everyday 604 8g's. These are fine speakers, look what Jean Hiraga did with them and the comments about them in the high end Munich show. Some Altecs are very fussy creatures, get the whole thing right and they can be simply be amazing. Its like one person said, these are like owning a Ferrari....

I have heard the M9500s a bunch of times which I think these a partially based on, they can be incredible. Cutthroat heard them and said he had to get used to the tiny transistor like sound coming out of his khorns afterwards...

Good for Roost!!! The good thing is its really easy to grow if you want to save some money. Its one of the rare health foods that can be addictive. When you work up to it try 4 shots, sometimes it will make you feel euphoric and shaky with tons of energy. One other thing I have noticed is if I am coming down with something I will go have some and it seems to knock it right out. May be in my head but it has helped a hand full of times.
