For sound, of those three, Pioneer is my choice. I use a SC37 w/KLF and its about as good as any separates I've had up to 3k. It was the top of the line however. Onkyo next, although historically they rule the feature, operation, sound for the money and I have a few, with no issues. For all around feature /price Yamaha is fine. I personally don't like them for music or operation or claimed power but are dependable, I hear. If music is no consideration any of those are good, even great. If music matters, budget allows look at Anthem, Rotel and the like. Last, if you know what you want ac4less has always been good for a deal. I have bought several avrs over the years, all still running. I did pay to return a Marantz that was well reviewed but I did not like at all. So it was on me, no reason they should pay. If you want to test drive maybe look local.......

I have found that Jose Cuervo 1800 to be very effective, at making me not care......Seriously, I found years ago that my sense of smell was getting worse so it don't matter...... But really, seriously, in addition to things mentioned frequently using terrible tasting mouth wash really works.

I use a Harmony to replace just about any remote ,just type in unit name and number $25. After I get the harmony loaded I then program with learn feature my HT master. It's been my favorite and bullit proof for 15 years. I have 4 of em. $40 or so..

Too bad, good writer and really good drummer. He had some tough times for a guy with so much. There was a time after I saw 2112 tour that I was a mega fan. I still love that era Rush music, after......ehh.......RIP

The thing that bugs me is the 4k stick don't do the hi rez, kinda kooky....I'm still trying to figure out why but.....The Amazon HD sounds as good or better than most any source I have (flac etc..). Maybe a setting or Amazon doing something (my avr has amazon built in), under investigation ........ I kinda hear ya on the library thing. I do like having the physical media. I do have several thousand disc (and a small fortune in em') But....as I get older I realize I could never own all that"s out there. I can try to listen to as much as possible and streaming allows for stuff I just would not buy to try...I have already found lots of great music I passed on long ago that's like new all over again. And if you have a kid or two or a friend split a family deal and it's like $5 an month. Can't buy much hi rez for that.

I run an optical cable in my garage and an hdmi in my den, from pc to receivers. As mentioned w/firestick you only get 16/44, cd quality. still ok. With optical or hdmi out I get up to 24/192. The app shows the bit rate when you click on HD / Ultra HD.

I've had it since it came out. I have my pc connected direct to receiver. I think it sounds great, great selection. Just as easy as playing a cd, album etc.... so... For 12.99 I think its a good deal, you can use it anywhere you go, at least I have. I dont do playlist and all that, I have several thousand albums I really like (still loading) and they just play random, nice way to hear stuff i passed by decades ago.....

Well...it's certainly something that can be attempted. The problem is if it's persued by criminals it makes them look like fools. Also...you have to work very hard to get to the truth in these matters as FAKE NEWS from dishonest MEDIA could misinform the people on purpose.

Eric Clapton -461 OB and Slowhand Jeff Beck -Blow by Blow are a few off the top of my head that I listen to often. There is a much larger selection of Concert dvd's/BR, some with great 5.1 audio. Gary Moore and Friends being one of the very best you'll hear. GNR Appetite for Democracy being a great BR.

$500 is a fair price for good condition 5's. I certainly would prefer them to the 28's, but that don't tell you much. I had 5's for years and always thought they were well balanced for a modern look speaker( my term). There are only a few Reference speakers I would prefer, all are larger. If it were $3-350 I'd say run get em' cause you can't lose.

The 1802 is a sweet sounding amp, and made right. I can't imagine much better at this price. It will sell......

Sorry...we're not doggin; ya. I'm sure you got the avr because it was there, looked like it could work (and should at the price) and has some people that like it. I had an RX A1000 for a short time in a second set, sold it on this very site years ago. I hooked it to a decent amp. What I didn't like was even louder.......I've owned several Emotiva units amps/pres, all great, outstanding for the price. I would compare them to Rotel/Anthem in sound quality.
