  1. Thanks so much for cr***ing on the thread. Not sure why you felt the need to do that. This is a very nice amp that's well made, sounds great, and works well with Klipsch speakers. Seems like you should have started your own thread so you could take pots shots at all the other vendors that do the same thing . . .

yep, those were beautiful and were quite a deal.

i'd change the title of the thread, removing the sale pending. glws!
  4. Very old thread, but reviving seems better than starting new. I just got a SQ-N150 to drive my 1975 Heresys and am thrilled. Beautiful detail, great soundstage (width and depth), and surprisingly has really good bass. Plenty of power for the Heresys (no surprise). Build quality is really high -- everything feels very solid and smooth. I'm expecting this to last me a very long time. (Cage will be removed soon!)
  5. The "L" is the year -- in this case, "L" does mean 1973. The wood code is typically fewer letters and is on the top line (the model) -- for instance H-BR is raw birch, H-WO is oiled walnut, etc -- look at section IV of the post below for the typical codes. Yours may be a custom wood. Can you post a pic? Should be easy to tell by looking at it.
  6. recently added davea's wonderful smahls and de-120 tweeters. providing much more articulate highs than the k-77 alnicos that were there. the icing on the cake, though, is my new luxman sq-n150 integrated -- 10w of el84 goodness! sound is wonderful -- instruments sound remarkably natural, soundstage is much more nuanced (i.e. deeper), and remarkably, the bass is phenomenal. i've been considering going down the super heresy route, but the bass now is making me reconsider.
  7. hey there. i'm curious where you got the terminations (spaces, etc.) for your wire -- i've only been able to find cheap zinc ones and am hoping for something better. thx!
  8. @charlieboy -- where are you located?
  9. @LDickersonLPC -- welcome to the forum! the way for the forum to be most helpful would be to provide a few more pics and a pic of the label on the back (the serial number has the year made in it). price varies widely on condition -- some of the experts here will know better than me, but i'd guess the range would be $1500-2000 for the pair.. because they're heavy, large, and expensive to ship, you will most likely need to sell them locally -- craigslist is the best because of its reach. klipsch fans scour craigslist -- with good pics and a reasonable price they'll sell. also post them in the garage sale section here -- not as many people, but certainly all klipsch fans. where are you located?
  10. yes, i know! i guess i should have called that out.
  11. Using the stock Klipsch photos in the listing . . . Lazy!
  12. gorgeous speakers! i have some 1975 heresys. did you change the woofers, too (to make into a super heresy)? how about the x-over -- what settings did you end up with relative to the type e x-over?
  13. Since you've got a couple of posts, I don't think your account can technically be removed. If you don't want to use the account, eliminate any personal info you can, change your display name to something you don't care about, disable all notifications, and walk away.
  14. Absolutely fantastic! I appreciate the skill and precision cuts that went into making that cabinet!
  15. @Shanercdn -- i would think that is good advice, particularly since there is essentially no mention of a b2t crossover that i could find. if you look at your b2t crossovers vs the crites b2 crossover, they are essentially the same -- there is an autoformer, two inductors, and three capacitors (those cans on your crossover are capacitors). the one difference is the fourth capacitor on your crossover that appears to the connected in parallel to the oil cap is the bottom left. not sure why that is there -- it could have been added later or represents a factory capacitance change that was most easily achieved by adding the capacitor on top.
  16. nice article! those la scala's look pretty good. i wish i had enough room to give some a try!
  17. i would just make sure that the lower powered/SET tube amps can handle the impedance swings -- the forte iii went below 4 ohms as shown below from stereophile. i couldn't find any published measurement for the forte iv . . . these impedance drops (with high phase angles) can be hard on tube amps. i experienced this trying to use a jadis orchestra black with cornwall ivs -- mids were gorgeous but no bass.
  18. i think you're free to put conditions on a sale as long as everyone is clear on them up front. i think you were quite generous to let someone take your speakers home for a demo and return them if they didn't like them! (i'm not quite that generous -- i would have demoed them at my house, but that's it) good luck with the sale.
  19. Cornwall 1s? If so, I'd look at the serial number again - you'd expect the 4 to be a letter instead. Can you get a pic?

You can leave the asking price, the helps everyone understand the market. I'll leave it here . . .

I know you can -- I'm asking you to reconsider for the good of the community.

Most folks just change the title of the thread to include SOLD. Take a look, there are many done this way.
