  1. i might have missed what you diagnosed as the problem with your driver. unless you have ruled it out, it is possible that it could be put back in service with a new diaphragm.
  2. Thank you Sir! May I have another?
  3. the clock took me by surprise. would love to have one.
  4. very cool. would love to have one of those fast rascals!
  5. Rigged, great job getting those theatre Heresy's fitted with tweeters!
  6. Congrats on one more complete trip around the sun!
  7. Congrats Bob! You've made one more complete trip around the sun! Bob, don't know if you remember this, but you were the one who told me about the Klipsch forum. Thanks bro. you're one of the good guys!
  8. looks like a fun project. pair them with the console amp should bring a smile!
  9. they say one sign of getting older is when you are proud of your lawn mower.
  10. very cool deal on the Tangent 500's. jump on them!
  11. I've used old english oil with good results on my oiled walnut Khorns. the darker scratch cover is good, too when needing to darken scratches.
  12. Taz, Your instincts are right on leaving the belt sanders off. I think the biggest challenge on refinishing LaScalas is dealing with inside the dog house. Refinishing with black pretty much solves that problem. Have seen some nice looking refinish and/or veneer jobs with Belle type grills added to cover that hard to get to places.
  13. Thanks Dave! Thanks Max! Thanks Duder! I'm getting inspired!
  14. Duder, could you say more about how you cook the pork loin? I've tried it from time to time, but have always let it overcook, i suppose. It ought not to be dry, but that is how it turns out with me. Max2, thanks for your take on brisket. Never have been happy with what i've turned out there. What you describe sounds doable.

    Southern BBQ

Wanted to post an update in the venerable Southern BBQ thread that used to live in the General Forum. It is probably still out there somewhere, but my quick search didn't locate it. Just wanted to say Kudos! to SSH who prepared BBQ and trimmings for the Friends of Paul gathering in Hope last weekend. Man, that was some good Q. Not sure i can describe his process except to say that he smoked boston butts at home, pulled the pork and warmed it up in crock pots at the super8. It was lightly sauced and served on buns or on the plate. Also world class was his oil and vinegar based slaw. no mayo. Pinto beans from scratch with smoked sausage also the real deal. Thank you Steve. This was a fabulous dinner for the gathering and would have been considered world class catered by any bbq establishment. Huge amount of work getting this all to Hope and served. Thanks bro!
  16. Thanks gentlemen! Larry, not switching for now. This is a pair i received in a swap of some gear last year. They are just spare and have found them again getting some things organized after the move last year. Thought i'd pass them along, but didn't want to put them in the garage sale section w/o having an idea on going price lately.
  17. these days, what's a fair price for a pair lightly used CT-125's. any thoughts appreciated. thanks.
  18. I've been using Amazon and i'm happy enough with it. There is also the convenience of Amazon Cloud where copies of your purchases can reside to download again or played from any machine on the web if needed. Also, if you purchase a CD from Amazon, you can also get a mp3 copy of the same album.
  19. Scott, Welcome to the forum. Bi-amping is something a number of folks do to accomplish what you are imagining. I haven't tried it, but think the idea has merit. Others might chime in. I'd recommend searching the forum for posts on biamp. There is quite a bit of info out there on the forum. Hope you'll post on your project as it progresses.
  20. jmikec, welcome to the forum! Carl, the 301's sounded very good. nice system on the patio. Thanks!
