Fotog
A favorite is Bing Crosby's Do you hear what I here and nearly anything from Kenny G Said the night wind to the little lamb Do you see what I see Way up in the sky little lamb Do you see what I see A star, a star Dancing in the night With a tail as big as a kite With a tail as big as a kite Said the little lamb to the shepard boy Do you hear what I hear Ringing through the sky shepard boy Do you hear what I hear A song, a song High above the tree With a voice as big as the sea With a voice as big as the sea Said the shepard boy to the mighty king Do you know what I know In your palace wall mighty king Do you know what I know A child, a child Shivers in the cold Let us bring him silver and gold Let us bring him silver and gold Said the king to the people everywhere Listen to what I say Pray for peace people everywhere Listen to what I say The child, the child Sleeping in the night He will bring us goodness and light He will bring us goodness and light The child, the child Sleeping in the night He will bring us goodness and light It simply is not Christmas without Johnny Mathis' Winter Wonderland

WMcD
Carol of the Bells. Number One with a bullet. It is interesting to read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_of_the_Bells indicating that it may have pre-historical and/or pre-Christian origins. The wikipedia has an external link to a collection of MP3 files. At least one sounds like ancient instruments from the mid-east. I'm old enought to remember the good old days before Alvin and before Little Drummer Boy. Ahem. And, seriously, I attended a sing-along-Messiah some years ago and have not recovered. If something like that is done in your area please attend even if you (like me) can't sing. Best wishes to all of you. Wm McD
DizRotus
Nat King Cole - "The Christmas Song" aka Chestnuts Roasting .... EDIT: Jerohm and Picky- Great minds think (and cut and paste) alike. It's too bad the cigarettes that gave him that voice also took his life too soon.

sputnik
"Walking in the Air" from "The Snowman" animated short film. If you've never seen this, you should. Beautiful pre-computer animation and a wonderful story - mesmorizes kids. This is not Frosty the Snowman. Spoiler warning: the link below with the music is from the best part of the film. artto
I'm undecided for just one, so here's my three favs. The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late), Alvin & The Chipmunks Santa Lost A HO, and Daddy's Drinkin Up Our Christmas, both by The Christmas Jug Band. To me, these three pieces epitomize the aniticipation, fun and reality of Christmas. [:'(]
