thebes
It appears that there is a town in Illinois that is named after me and is now underwater after the Corps of Engineers (motto: Thebes can't solder like we can") blew the levee. Blowing up the levee, to my mind, is no way to throw a party. Can't dance with soggy tootsies. Lest the poor soles of Thebes feel like they have been abandoned by Thebes, let me assure you that you are all invited to stay at my place until the water recedes. You'll like my stereo, and sure I'm willing to play that great American musical classic, American Pie.
