dbomberger
I'm increasingly enjoying what I refer to Texas Blues, though some is just good country. I'm looking for some suggestions that would be good accompaniment to the following-all of which sounds better the louder you crank it up. I've always been a Jerry Jeff Walker fan (though of course he is from New Jersey originally)-not really blues though. Stevie Ray Vaughn of course. Ray Wylie Hubbard is great in my mind, at least a lot of fun. ZZ Top-nuff said. Willie of course. Who else should I be checking out? Thanks in advance. dbomberger
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_blues Great list. I should have included Johnny Winter on my post. Great player, saw him numerous times. Great till the end.
musicook
W.C. Clark Storyville - more blues rock, but has Stevie's Double Trouble backing. Fabulous Thunderbirds - Jimmy Vaughan It's not blues, but an incredible country swing guitarist in Austin is Redd Volkaert. I thought Jeff Healey was Canadian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Texas_blues_musicians

ajoker2c
I thought Jeff Healey was Canadian. He certaintly was Canadian. He was from the same east end area of Toronto I live in. I used to go watch him at local pub 30 yrs ago as he ran a Sunday afternoon jam sessions. A few short years later he opened for SRV at 60,000 seat Skydome here. RIP Jeff, A Canadian legend.
