Rhetor
For those using an external amp to drive their front speakers in your HT, simply interested in hearing what external amp(s) you may be using. In an 11.1 Heritage setup with a Denon 4311, I am rotating two external amps to drive the Khorn fronts: GFA 555 series I Phase Linear 400 series I . . . (professionally reworked to avoid becoming a "Flame Linear," my favorite to use. I love the VU meters and the warm sound, especially when I go two channel music with it.) So, what external amp(s) drive your fronts in your HT? Edited October 3, 2014 by Rhetor
Coytee
Mine isn't assembled yet. That said, I'm currently using a Crown K2 for front right/left. (I biamp so each speaker has a K2) I have another (third) K2 that I'll use for center. If I can ever get the wife's blessings (hahahaha) I'll have another K2 (or two of them) powering the Danley DTS-10 subs. I might however, swap things around a bit as I have a dbx BX3 amp laying around. This amp can be configured between 2,3,4 channels. I am pondering different variations with it. Bridge it and power my rear LaScalas? Leave it 4-channel and power my LaScalas and Danley's? 4-channel & power LaScalas & part of the Jubilee's? 4-channel & power rear LaScalas (2 speakers with passives) and other 2 channels for front center (2-way LaScala / biamped) it's RCA/single ended inputs and I'm trying to get everything over to XLR so it's all matched. Guess I could ditch the dbx and get another K2.

jjptkd
I've been switching back and forth between my Sunfire 400x5 and a pair of Samson SX pro amplifiers. Eventually the Samson SX3200 (1150x2 @ 4ohms) will serve as my sub amp for DIY project in the works but it sounds surprisingly good with my mains. I've ran all the "555" series Adcoms and found the original a bit grainy and harsh, the 5500 and more robust 5800 mosfet amplifiers were much smoother with the horns. I used the 5800 as my main amp through a winter as running in class "A" for the first 10 watts it worked double duty as heater. Summer came along and it had to go. babadono
Using a Sherborne PA7-350 for all 7 channels. Still would like to put a scope on the RF7 IIs to see how much power is really needed to make them get to reference level.
CECAA850
I use QSC PLX2's on all 7 channels.

NBPK402
My bi-amp setup is not quite ready for hookup yet... It will be 3 Topping 25wpch T chip amps for my horns, and 2 Yamaha P2500s amps for my 1/4 pie bass bins.
derrickdj1
I have used Carver M 400, Yamaha M70, Yamaha M 80 and currently Acurus 200 Five amp. I don't run the Fronts as large but, they have never need more than 110-120 watts set on large or small to reach reference in a 5000 + cu ft. room Edited October 3, 2014 by derrickdj1
