wvu80
It looks like both Ohio State and Louisville are trying to send a message to the playoff committee they would like to have that #4 playoff spot now that Texas A&M crashed and burned. Texas A&M #4 lost to Miss State 35-28 Ohio State #6 leading Nebraska #10 31-6 at halftime Louisville #7 d. Boston College 52-7 +++ +++ Alabama and LSU 0-0 in the 4th. Bama looking very beatable. What else you want? Fiddy points! Two good defenses, though. Louisville got 52, Ohio State got 62. The Committee said they are going to look at every team's performance, every week, and they won't hesitate to shake things up. Washington better rack up some style points vs Cal if they want to move up from #5 to #4.
JL Sargent
Baton Rouge on a Saturday night? They call it Death Valley for a reason. It's good to get out of there with any kind of win. Ed's got that LSU team playing their butts off right now. He should get that job permanent in my opinion.

DizRotus
NAVY beat ND, which puts that sourpuss, Brian Kelly, that much closer to the door. ND has had a knack for picking unlikeable, as well as ineffective, coaches. ARMY lost to AIR FORCE, which suggests this is probably not the year ARMY ends NAVY's streak. When MSU fired John L. Smith, there were those who wanted Sparty to hire Kelly away from CMU, rather than Dantonio away from Cincinnati. Thank God Dantonio came to East Lansing and Kelly went briefly to Cincy, then to South Bend. Soon Kelly and Charlie Weiss can sit on a wall together and wait for Alice to push them over. The hottest coaching prospect appears to be P. J. Fleck at WMU. The success he has brought to the Broncos is nothing short of amazing. It remains to be seen whether his corny "row the boat" style mantra can translate to a power 5 school. He might be better off staying in Kalamazoo, but he won't. While I feel the Wolverines are a better team than the Broncos, until they beat WMU, they cannot claim the championship of the state of Michigan. Coaches not so much and has them at 21, which is where I thought their ceiling might be. The other Big Winner is Penn State up 8 spots and 9 spots respectively. That's a big jump into 12/14 for this time of year. My West Virginia Mountaineers fell ten spots last week, then beat Big 12 whipping boy Kansas and jumped up 3 & 5 into 11/10. I'm a homer for sure but I don't think they deserved to bump into the top 10 without beating a good team. NOW THE LOSERS Nebraska, Florida and Baylor all fell 12 spots in the AP. Well, first of all, they will never play head to head, and secondly, WMU doesn't play teams nearly on the level of UM. When they play MSU, Iowa, Wisconsin and that other team, then perhaps there might be a case. UM strength of schedule is #19, WMU is #77..... WMU is ranked #14 right now on the AP, but I suspect that might be very generous. It's a fun Cinderella story, but lets not confuse WMU with the likes of teams presently at the very top of the rankings.

DizRotus
I'm not sure if it qualifies as college football, but I'll be watching Spartans against Rutgers. If MSU can't beat Hester's knights, the only way to go is up. I'll also be watching real college football.
