Now is your chance to get shot of it.  Sell it to a greater fool and get a VPI Scout, or something else respectable....

I think @oldtimer wants your linn

Ok, I give up.  You get an oak leaf cluster too.  Hope it doesn't get lost in the mail.  lol

You see?  This is how things are done in a meritocracy...

Oh dear, is that a bad word?

Which came first the fig leaf or the oak leaf?

In my religion, the oak.

It's not actually.  The Oak predates the Fig.  Paleocene and perhaps older versus Miocene.

The edible fig did not exist until men bred it.

Need some quick opinions on what's going on with my pickup needle. This needle was bought in 2020 for my vintage Onkyo CP1000A in order to bring it back to life.

When I put it down, it skids one or two centimeters toward the center (scratch!) and then it starts playing with lots of distortions and jumps. Can't see anything wrong with it, though.

My guess is it is broken and needs replacement, right?

HHHMMM....what about the anti scating or counterweight ?  Normally a needle damage happens not so quick ..from one to the other moment ?

Thanks for the input. After all considerations, and resetting everything, the issue remains. I think the cheapest solution will be to replace the needle.

Hope that is the fix. Would compare stylus to online close-up. I would likely be wrong but would try another lp after cleaning the tip with light vigor.

Too bad another stylus not laying about.

Time difference has me coming in late

The list to check

Dirty record grooves

Dust accumulation on the diamond

Cartridge weight on the record

Anti skate adjustment

Damaged or worn diamond stylus

If worn or damaged it’s better to replace
