It dawned on me while reading that..... perhaps there's a reason any ancient life might have left the planet and here we are potentially planning on barging right back in! It is quite the engineering achievement. It will be interesting to see how long it takes to retrieve the core samples Perseverance will collect. Maybe not even in our lifetime? Quote
