billybob Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Should have said, was trying to jostle the OPs memory. Quote
Marvel Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Fender now has a '60s Era Mustang bass, short scale, thT looks just like the bass I had. Friend of mine had a Jazz master guitar. 2 Quote

rplace Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 15 years old but new to me. Ebony fretboard and a kill switch. Single humbucker wound to Joan's specs. Headstock needs dusting, will happen with new strings. EDIT: I guess I'm a Tele/Jazzmaster/Strat guy at heart. Still can't warm up to the 3-a-side turners. Maybe that is why the Gibson Firebird is sticking around. 2 Quote

I have found the Squire guitars I've played and owned by Fender far exceeded my expectations. Especially on the used market (Reverb.com) if you have a week or two to watch. 1 Quote

What's your budget? Epiphone makes a wonderful guitar for the money. Fender Squire is a great deal. Ibanez, Washburn, Yamaha? Are you wanting something new, or would you consider used? Facebook Marketplace has some pretty good deals, even your local pawn shop can have some wonderful deals. Quote

the real Duke Spinner Posted October 20, 2023 Author Posted October 20, 2023 Used prices have always been very very cheep It's a great guitar But no recognition I played a DC 400 30 years agiy was good antastic I will however stick with my crude LP Junior DCs from the 1960s I'm a snob. 😀 1 Quote
Marvel Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 I think changing to the family name has actually brought them a better recognition of the brand. A lot of their models have a 4 month + wait time. I had looked a one of the Craig Chaquico signature models. Quote
JJkizak Posted October 20, 2023 Posted October 20, 2023 While the fiddleback wood is beautiful it is harder to work with and has less strength than a straight grained wood. It would be interesting to see how they handle the glue joints and what kind of glue that they used for longevity and humidity changes. JJK Quote

Google that story if you don't know about it. Also, it was a reasonably famous "man's" guitar before it was Joan's. The Dude Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 I dont understand my obsession with this guitar, the first picture maybe the real deal, the second is a replica. I will say after my trip to Nashville a couple weeks ago, it dawned on me how I seem to be more drawn to Gibson 1 Quote
Ceptorman Posted November 8, 2023 Posted November 8, 2023 There's an original 1959 Les Paul Standard in England for sale, it needs a little work, they're asking 500k USD! I believe they were $300 new. 2 Quote
