15 years old but new to me. Ebony fretboard and a kill switch. Single humbucker wound to Joan's specs. Headstock needs dusting, will happen with new strings.

EDIT: I guess I'm a Tele/Jazzmaster/Strat guy at heart. Still can't warm up to the 3-a-side turners. Maybe that is why the Gibson Firebird is sticking around.

Guys, who knows where you can buy an inexpensive but high-quality guitar?

I guess inexpensive is a relative term. I have found the Squire guitars I've played and owned by Fender far exceeded my expectations. Especially on the used market (Reverb.com) if you have a week or two to watch.

Acoustic, electric? Lots of choices. What's your budget? Epiphone makes a wonderful guitar for the money. Fender Squire is a great deal. Ibanez, Washburn, Yamaha? Are you wanting something new, or would you consider used? Facebook Marketplace has some pretty good deals, even your local pawn shop can have some wonderful deals.

I think changing to the family name has actually brought them a better recognition of the brand. A lot of their models have a 4 month + wait time. I had looked a one of the Craig Chaquico signature models.

While the fiddleback wood is beautiful it is harder to work with and has less strength than a straight grained wood. It would be interesting to see how they handle the glue joints and what kind of glue that they used for longevity and humidity changes.

I'd rather play like Joan Jett than Ted Nugent. Google that story if you don't know about it.

Also, it was a reasonably famous "man's" guitar before it was Joan's.

"Jett bought her first Melody Maker from Eric Carmen, following the breakup of the Raspberries"
