What DAC & Amp are you using with Heritage Speakers

I see many posts in this forum about "taming the midrange". I contend that if one chooses their system wisely, especially amplification, there is no need to "tame" the midrange. Horns can be just as beguilingly smooth as any conventional driver, but with more texture and snap. I have zero harshness from my lascalas and zero interest in any equalization of any kind. And I'm not laying all the blame on SS amps, some tube amps just don't sound very good on horns either. It's all about synergy.

I'd like to get one to refurb and modify. Like what I did to my 4bx a few years back. There is one on ebay for $650, that's a little steep to my way of thinking. I got a service manual off the net and I would like to learn how the expand OR compress circuitry works.

Trying to post pictures...forum keeps saying greater than 2 Meg...which they ARE NOT.

My DAC is actually a small audio interface - an AudioBox Go made by PreSonus. Currently, amplification is provided either by my 1976 Nikko NA-850, or by one of two custom-built (by me) SE Class-A tube amps.

Klipschorns = now an Emotiva Stealth feeding an A100 amp, was XDA-2 feeding Neurochrome Modulus-86 (inside system)

La Scalas = Brennan B2 feeding a SMSL Q5.  (outside system)

Heresys = Dayton DTA-pro. (basement system)

That's odd.  Even 500k pix should post just fine, and give a sufficiently detailed look at whatever the item is.
