I contend that if one chooses their system wisely, especially amplification, there is no need to "tame" the midrange. Horns can be just as beguilingly smooth as any conventional driver, but with more texture and snap. I have zero harshness from my lascalas and zero interest in any equalization of any kind. And I'm not laying all the blame on SS amps, some tube amps just don't sound very good on horns either. It's all about synergy. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
