Jazz in the classic tradition (Ellington, Armstrong, etc.including younger players in that tradtion, i.e,not "smooth") Mon-Fri. Sat. big band, swing, sometimes folk; Sunday, classical. Classic rock in the car and sometimes when doing chores. Jazz 80% of the time.

I got a jazz sampler CD when I purchased TurboTax. Does that count?

No. You are in the "primarily listens to tax preparation software" category. Actually, I dig Marshall Loeb, too. His tax tips make me tingle. I can't wait for the duet album with Lisa Loeb.

Hey, Songer! You back to liking people again, or just not advertising your distaste?

Got the latest 2 records in the Acoustic Sounds "the best jazz ever" 45rpm Kevin Gray/Steve Hoffman series. This is an over priced reissue series by most standards. But, for jazz newbies like me, it's a good way to get some great records in perfect shape. This month I received:

- Duke Ellington Quartet, "Duke's Big Four"

- Count Basie & His Orchestra, "88 Basie Street"

All I can say is WOW! This stuff sounds so good it's sick. Even my wife and kids are enjoying them.

Also listening to:

- various Maria Callas records - played one on a Sunday morning, fell in love

- Jack Johnson (cd) - the daughter is home on Spring Break and he's not half bad

- John Mayer (cd) - same as above

- Steel Pulse (cd) - same as above

Regards,

Chris

Rosemary Clooney w/Ellington Can't remember the title

David "Fathead" Newman (awesome through LaScalas. The horns do justice to the sax)Album: Mr Gentle, Mr. Cool

There is other music I listen to, but these two come to mind.
