Erik Mandaville
What neat dogs! We used to have German neighbors, a husband and wife, whose names were Hans and Elsa. Meet Sandy. We HAD to have her teeth cleaned today -- $200. But think about how good it is to come home to a beloved pet at the end of a hard day at work! What amazing animals they are to give such unconditional love and devotion. My dogs actually really like to hear (I'm not sure the word 'listen'is accurate...) music, especially classical guitar. Lazarus, who we had to put to sleep due to cancer on exactly this day two years ago, used to lie down right between the speakers, about 10 feet away from them. He seemed to know where things sounded just right!

Mark Hardy
Nice pond! These are not dogs, but they are pets... They are generally evil, shredding speaker grilles and furniture, harassing houseplants, and knocking over trash cans, but they were being cute when this picture was taken. artto
We had to put down our pal Shapiro (better known as Peedo) Friday, two weeks ago. He was 12. A Border Collie/Malamute mix. Prostate cancer that had spread to the lymph nodes, some gall stones, and a couple of leisons on his liver. We waited as long we could but he wasn't eating anymore. Thanks for a great 12 years Peedo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Myhamish
Hi PaulParrot, Thanks for starting such a great thread. Kind of tugs at the old heart strings. Monty could really sing. Sometimes he'd get so into it, he'd fall right over. Misty was Miss November in a national photo contest one year and Dexter was the James Dean of Dalmatians - a rebel without a cause - lovable but incorrigible. Now we have Cammie - we imagine him smoking a pipe, wearing slippers and driving a Volvo. As for starving people elsewhere as mentioned in an above post, we have used our pooches for various fundraising and awareness efforts. Dexter, Misty and Cammie were all rescued and adopted from shelters. Hamish
