lets see YOUR two channel setups

Let me try this again since it didn't post the first time. Let me echo what a number of others have stated, you have a nice system, as young as you are. Just wait until you're older with a better paying job to support you audio habits.

My first stereo was a Panasonic Quad system. It wasn't like the fake quad (matrix discrete) like my sister had but a true quad. You had to use a special CD-4 record to activate the quad portion and the selection of those albums was poor at best. I only had three, one of which was Aqualung by Jethro Tull. It sounded so awesome, I can't believe I didn't wear it out.

That system is long gone and has grown quite a bit as far as bedroom systems go, at least mine anyway. My current system in our master bedroom consists of mostly Technics with some dBX, Monster Power and Klipsch thrown in to make it really perform. I have a Technics RS-1700 Open Reel, SL-1310MKII Turntable, SL-PC33 CD player, dBX model 200 Program Selector, dBX Model 224 Noise Reduction, Technics ST-9030 Tuner, RS-9900US Cassette Deck, SH-4060 Timer, Monster Power HTS-2500 Line Conditioner, dBX 3BX Range Expansion, Technics SH-9010 EQ, SH-9020 Meter Unit, and two SE-9060 Power Amps (Mono). The rack is a Technics SH-905ST (?) along with a Technics powered antenna on one of the Klipschorns. Forgive me, the Open Reel is sitting on the floor because it no longer will fit in the rack or in the current configuration of the system. It will most likely show up on eBay in a few days. This use to be my main system but has been retired to the bedroom after an upgrade in the family room. This is one of five systems in my home, most of it is Technics with some Klipsch speakers (Klipschorn, La Scala, KG-2) gracing three of the systems. My other speakers are Bose 901's that will be replaced with another pair of K-Horns, Belles or La Scala's. I also have a pair of Technics SB-E100's and a pair of Paradigm Titans.

Keep on the building-up of your system, Crazy. You're well ahead of your years as far as knowing what you want in a high-end 2-channel audio system. Most kids are content with their PC speakers and an iPod downloading MP3s...that's all well and good, but they'll never know or appreciate what a superior audio system can sound like.

My very latest addition...my dad's '79 Technics SL-1700MK2 direct-drive 'table with my old '83 Stanton 981HZS pro calibrated MM, hooked up to a new Music-Hall mmf-phono pack MM/MC pre, and all new MagWire Naked interconnects for all my sources:

Someday I'll get either a Pro-Ject or a Rega 'table, maybe a tube phono preamp, and a Sumiko MC again, but for now I can enjoy spinning vinyl once again. I'm likin' it!9.gif

See my System Profile for more pics and of previous system setups...

Jimbo, Can't believe you're still without carpet! I do believe we know where your priorities are, though. (And we're familiar with your patience- I remember the whole Lam Bing Zap shipping ordeal!9.gif )

Here are some shots of my main system of Belles w/A/AA convertible networks, Redgum 60WPC MOSFET integrated, hotrodded Pioneer Elite PD-93 CD player, Pioneer Elite F-91 tuner, Electronic Specialists ISO-17 line conditioner, cryoed Hubbell duplex on dedicated 20 amp line, double run of Kimber 4TC speaker cable and Musical Design interconnects. I am as happy with this system as any other I have assembled. A second system of Cornwalls, HK 430 receiver and Denon CD player is in another room but gets little play. The Belle system rules the house.

Richard,

How do you like your Redgum? Have you ever compared it to any other solid state?

If the darn picture wasnt so fuzzy I'd really like to get a good look at it.

The Redgum is outstanding; very clean, neutral sounding, excellent bass control, very easy to listen to. Have owned the Unison Unico hybrid and Jolida hybrid integrateds, stomps them both no question. Replaced a modded Cayin integrated EL-34 tube amp coupled with a TAD 150 pre-amp with the Redgum. Kicked the hell out of that combination also. The Redgum is just a very nice amp to listen to. With the Belles, a very "real" listening experience. Sorry about the photo, will take another for you. It is worth a look, the face plate is made from native Australian Redgum wood, hence the name.

They are about 10 feet apart center to center. Still able to get very good imaging and find that perfect sweet spot. The Redgum helps with this as it has volume controls for both the left and right channels. The room opens up from the system on out, about 20x25 with a 20 foot ceiling of varying angles. The Belles and 60WPC can really breathe and open up. I had Cornwalls in this same set-up and for my taste, much prefer the Belles, hands down.
