jacksonbart
That has got to be a record for the smallest room ever for Khorns.
PrestonTom
Actually, these are not all that far from me, but the price is too much. They appear to be the same year as my KCBRs (1982). The seller makes a big deal that these have the alnico magnets. But I think he is wrong on that point. I don't think they were doing that in 1982. Mine are ceramic, I am pretty sure. Good Luck, -Tom
3dzapper
If I didn't already have Khorns, I'd be all over them like flies on poop! Oak and cane. Delicious.[Y] Rick

kev313
Are those oak? The color is quite nice, especially with the cane, but the speakers lack the horrific "country kitchen" open grain pattern generally seen on Klipsch Oak.
SilverSport
I think they are Oak Laquer...that look that I think you (as well as I) normally associate with Oak is the Oak Oil... I am liking the Oak Laquer the more I see them (this is the second pair like that for me) Bill
meagain
They appear to be quarter-sawn oak veneer pieces with a bit of 'standard' graining in the center. Agree? I'm not an oak fan (looks like clunky plywood to me), but quarter-sawn is nice. Fine, subtle grain. Wish I could buy them.

codhead
I had a $2,750 bid set up through auctionsniper.com but looks like I was a little short. Would have been a nice score (50 miles away). []

Duke Spinner
that certainly is a fine lookin' oak finish ... i really hate the OO finish on my c2's, and CW2's ....
Jeff Matthews
OTOH, I bet they'd look better if the front was not quarter-joined pieces. But they are definitely pretty enough that I would have bought them if I didn't already have mine and the price was right.
Gilbert
Those are beautiful speakers. Grain structure is tight, or closely spaced. Quite unusual compared to any oak heritage (light, oiled, or laquered) that I've personally seen.
meagain
Jeff, the stripes you see (4 pieces of veneer) would likely dissappear if you saw them in person. I've taken a few pics of mine and can clearly see a blatant stripe pattern, but in real life - one big hunk of wood.
drefrank
I've wanted to take the Khorn plunge for a long time and I've finally got two corners (one good, one fair) so here we go. I'm hoping to get them next week, although the weather may not cooperate. I know they're going to sound great, but I also liked the look of the oak and cane. Unfortunately I won't be able to set them up for a few weeks due to (seemingly endless) renovations. It's going to tough waiting it out. I'll probably sell my Cornwalls and La Scalas and will post something here on the forum soon. Any words of wisdom for a new Khorn owner? Picture of mine below which I recall are 1981. I eventually put some new crossovers (ALK's') in them. You will be blown away if you've got some decent corners. Although Cornwalls and LaScalas are nothing to sneeze at. I'm glad to see the Khorns (and heritage in general) getting a better buck lately. They're worht it
