Beechnut Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 The abominations of today can never compete with the joys in my youth: Quote

Cal Blacksmith Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 Indeed, the animation of today can't hold a candle to when I grew up. Common, they don't even move their mouths today, I guess that makes overdubbing less complicated though! Quote

The old Looney Tunes and such from the 40's were the best. There were a few exceptions, Huckleberry Hound, Rocky the Flying Squirrel, and such, but the old hand inked stuff was the very best. Islander Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 The animation studios don't want to spend the money anymore. First, they outsourced the animation, then they didn't even want to pay the overseas animators for full animation. Maybe South Park is really the future of animation. Quote
oldtimer Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 It's the writing not the animation that makes South Park the future. Same with the Venture Brothers. With good writing you could use Clutch Cargo animation and it would still be good. As an aside, the original South Park animation was quite grass roots clever, using construction paper and stop animation. Quote
Islander Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I hope some new Venture Brothers episodes come out. Meantime, I'm having a great laugh watching Ugly Americans. BTW, it's a TV show, in case anyone thinks I'm insulting Americans, ugly or otherwise. Quote
