Audio Flynn
So you Jub owners (especially Coytee) want to shut me up....although I can't remember the last time a said a word about Jubilee's on the forum?? and even then all I have ever stated is that some are exaggerating about them stomping all over everything else. Well I have a challenge for you. One of you bring your mighty Jub's to the AK Fest coming up in a few months and I'll give them a whirl in my room for the weekend. I will however keep my old world franken-Scala's close at hand just in case I'm not impressed. Or if you would rather I not use your pride and joy's feel free to sign up for a members room yourself but be quick they won't be available long. They were only $100 or so for members last year. Us vendors really pay the freight. I guarantee you will have the time of your life........ So put up guy's .....heck these hotel rooms look to be similar size to what most folks are using these Jubs in anyway. Come show the world the Jub joy. Craig Klipsch corporate seems to prefer to avoid demonstrating their products at AK. Could be they are afraid of the Franken Scala. Hopefully a Jube owner makes the trip. Guest " "
For the life of me, I wish I could figure out just what the root of this intense(sic) debate is all about? I like vanila.... no, chcolate, no. butter pecan!.. This obviously isn't for the faint of heart.... Doc, so I guess you will be bringing a truckload of transformers to tune up those rooms?.... But personally, I think you might want to bring a few of the Cheryl Tiegs posters for the really really tough spots! And some of those fancy bi-wires could be used as museum guide ropes to keep the grimy fingers off the equipment. very easy to read...I get it
meagain
Oh boy! Another Jubilee thread. I can't wait to read this.
Deang
A game of winners and losers? I cannot buy into Dean's assessment when he has not heard the big horns. Well, he said he "would put them up against", so how else was I supposed to put it? As for not hearing his speakers, his configuration on top isn't radically different than what I moved away from (Trachorns/JBL/Beyma). Klipsch corporate seems to prefer to avoid demonstrating their products at AK... So does just about every other manufacturer and vendor. Oh I hate vanilla death to all those that like vanilla : ) It is interesting that just about all who have heard the Jubilee are very opinionated myself included. Love those folded bass horns. NOSValves
"Besides the listening is nearfeild so the room really doesn't have that much to do with it at sane levels. So the playing field will be equal on all accounts. So if the mighty Jub is the greatest thing since sliced bread it should surely win the weekend against all other systems at the event." You kind of need to be off them a bit because of their size. I'm 12-13 feet back and I think that's probably about the minimum. They'd need to be in one of the bigger rooms -- eight feet back ain't gonna get it. As far as getting a pair up there, that would really be cool -- but just one of them weighs almost as much as two Klipschorns, and because of their size you can't load them into van. I don't know about the other owners, but I'm not much into the idea of having mine sitting in the back of a pickup truck. So, that leaves renting a uHaul, which ain't exactly cheap. Excuses, excuses.........
Deang
So they'll have a couple dozen, which leaves about another thousand or so manufacturers not making an appearance. Excuses? I'm just telling you how it is -- they aren't much fun to move around I don't think anyone is interested in potentially buggering up a pair of brand new speakers just to prove a point. And really, it's like I'm running a Cuda with a Hemi and you want me to pull it out of storage and tow it to Michigan so I can prove it can hang with a few nice small blocks and a bunch of Pintos. Why don't you bring your setup down to my place?

rigma
OK for what it is worth, here is my opinion. First let me say I have been listening to Klipschorns since age 14 (now 55), or 41 yrs. My dad had them, still does, then I built a set of Speaker Labs (sorry) in 1971 and bought my Klipschorns new if 1988, which I still have. I also have all of the Heritage series. The Klipschorns are wonderful sounding speakers which I have thoroughly enjoyed but the Jubilee is better IMO. Here is how I would describe the Jubilee's I built with the 402 HF. The Jubilee's bass is 1-1/2 to 2 steps better than the Khorn and the mid and highs of the 402's are 3 steps better. Just as a comparison of what I consider a step I would say that the Khorn bass is 1 to 1-1/2 steps better than the LaScala. The Jubilees are in the same room, same location, using the same equipment as where I had the Khorns and also LaScalas. The Jub's are just that much better. Believe me if they weren't I would move the Khorns back. If anyone buys Jubilees I highly recommend the 402 HF, it is that good. I have heard the 510 HF but in my opinion it is not in the same league as the 402. Oh, I also recommending buying vs. building. They are a bargain at the price and a whole lot less headaches. Hindsight is 20/20. rigma

Why don't you bring your setup down to my place? Excuses excuses. I haul my gear to AKfest every year..... Heck one year I set up three complete systems in three rooms and hauled it all !!! Of course once was enough of that... So what if they have a couple dozen. Who said all manufacturers were making an appearance. YOU SAID just about every manufacturer did not attend. I was pointing out that you were obviously wrong. Heck this isn't some national event that's what makes it so much fun. By the way the Jub is not a Cuda with a Hemi...it's a 1950's Mac Truck with a smoke billowing diesel engine..... []
mark1101
That is precisely why of course I bought MWMs.
Deang
The point is what's the big deal about Klipsch not being there since most everyone else isn't going to be there either. I guess you don't feel like dragging your LaScalas down here for a comparison? Do you have an excuse, or should I just settle for the hell with that? mark1101
Actually, I bought them before I was really aware of what I was getting into. But they are still fun. Everyone who sees them makes fun of me.

No big deal about Klipsch not coming......... I guess you don't feel like dragging your LaScalas down here for a comparison? Do you have an excuse, or should I just settle for the hell with that? Now what would the point of that be?? I think having the benefit of numerous other outside folks hearing the speakers at AK fest and chiming in with completely unbiased opinions would be much more valuable. No need to even ask them at the show just see what responses come forward with members reviews after the fest along with the professional reviews the media releases. I know you just miss me right [] well okay big fella Craig
meagain
OK Seriously... I've been away from here. Am I sensing correctly that Craig still hasn't heard Jubilees? Now tell me, it's not that far to Dean's house. Why haven't you 2 gotten together for a listen? Perfect opportunity to kiss and make up - or do that man-hug type thing. Now tell me, it's not that far to Dean's house. Why haven't you 2 gotten together for a listen? Perfect opportunity to kiss and make up - or do that man-hug type thing. Cause if Craig heard them he could not say the claims about how good ther are are exaggerated anymore. Then he would feel...well..Like he should have withheld comments until he actually heard them at the very least! Wait I think I remember him saying something like that about some amp[:$] rigma
