    • Yes! I did find out how to open the top hat box fairly easily, thankfully. Another member here had messaged me this morning with instructions on how to diagnose if it is in fact the tweeter that is the fault to my issue.    I checked the contact wiring to the tweeter, hoping for a loose or unplugged wire. One of the wires contacting onto the tweeter was seemingly loose, as it clicked when I was attempting to push it in further. However, still muffled when I tested again.   To further troubleshoot, I unplugged the tweeter wiring from the other speaker, to confirm that the sound between the two speakers matched after having both tweeters not putting out sound. Confirmed - both sound the same with the horns and the woofers coming through.    I then swapped the tweeters between the two top hat boxes, and the issue followed me over to the other top hat box.   Issue confirmed I suppose. The member who contacted me had given me a link, suggesting I purchase the OEM diaphragm #127126 for $57 at https://reconingspeakers.com/products-page/klipsch-k77f-127126-diaphragm/   Waiting to hear back from them to make sure my troubleshooting still points to the diaphragm that they think it is.

    • I have LS2's as well.  To open up the back of the top hat box, first unplug the cables from the bass bin, then unscrew the wood screws from around the perimeter of the top hot box.  slowly tip the back panel out and then unplug the tweeter and midrange from the crossover.  then you should be able to completely remove the back panel / crossover and set aside to give you room to work on the tweeter. it has four wood screws holding it in place. then there are four screws holding the tweeter to the horn. Years ago, I had a noisy tweeter.  I disassembled everything and the little bug screen in front of the tweeter wasn't in place correctly.  While you have the back off the top hat, make sure all the screws are tight holding the horn in place as well as the midrange to the horn.
    • That's the way I did it.  Should have been able to use the weight from the old cone but there was none.  I still have not figured out where it could have possible gone. If the old cone fell apart (which was the case), the weight should have been rolling around in the cabinet or stuck to magnet of the 18" speaker. It was no where to be found.
    • I know the weather in bad there, but we had a wonderful dinner at an outdoor resto tonight, with family and friends (some of my wife's former students, a couple married with grown kids of their own). Temp in the low 80s, but just enought breeze to be comfy.   BBQ, fresh grilled fish, rice, veggies, soup. Cold beer and conversation.   Br back home in s couple days, with colder weather for sure.
    • Hi @derrickdj1 What do you mean for FR? Using my RP-500SA over my RF7?   I choosed to wait, i like emotiva, but i need to be sure before buying it
    • Got a chance to buy one of these for 200, wonder if any of you have experience with them?  Good/bad, issues to look out for?     Thanks,
    • Thank you! When you say they are available-where specifically? From Klipsch directly? I’ve heard of Crites, is this something available from Crites as well?    I did be sure to swap the heads of these La Scalas to see if the issue followed to the other bass box, and it did indeed follow after the switch.    I’m thinking I will open up the back of the tweeter box enclosure (from the back screws?) and take a look to see if there’s any loose wiring to rule that out. Not familiar with how to use a multimeter.
    • Random youtube video I found through FB. Nice quiet instrumentals.
