  1. Looks like a lot of sniffing going on, hope your not doing that to your dates ? It might help but I don't think they would appreciate it, and if they did it might get really weird. And to think that poor dog was locked in a cage a few months ago with a death sentence, good for you Tarheal.

  2. Been looking and searching for speakers for my garange and my patience finally paid off. Introducing my '86 Heresy I HBR! Got the pair for $300 and I thought it was too good to pass. I set them up just below the ceiling angled between 20-25 degrees and the sound coming from these speakers are just beautiful and astounding. They're like mini-Scala... ; ) Connected to my old Pioneer 5.1 receiver, I left the FM radio running and went into the house then my daughter said, dad, what is that thumping sound coming from? Then...we started dancing to the beat...hehee I do lots of work in the garage so this new set is just going to make it that much more enjoyable when getting my hands dirty changing oils, etc.

  4. There is alot to be said about the bodily natural parfum sometime exciting the olfactory sense. To be stored away on file for instant recall. Number systems are nice but, unique identifiers can be cumbersome. A rose so sweet, as to be called any other name, is as sweet...

  5. I've heard it said that dogs should not meet head to head. When they sniff a butt that DNA will be remembered for years. Hell I can't even remember my last girlfriends perfume

  7. Oh you're not suppose to sniff butts like Jake does? I've watching him and doing the same with my dates We can all learn something from Jake, perhaps if id have done some "Sniffin" on a few exwifes, i would not have so many exwifes.....hummmm.

  8. If you need any advice Tarheel for keeping the names straight, I have a couple of options for you. Yes, my friend Doc may be in for a great awakening, already hit 28 since he has been there for 1 week now. Firewood, yeah, think so!

  10. Good day to you Klipsch forum! Speaking of firewood, looking good from here, and better to have more than you need when it comes to survival. Friend who I helped somw with our deck has after some planning finally has relocated himself with his art skills and other to Minnesota of all places. I joke about the weather here being too hot, and it is to me. But going to an extreme to me, cold clime on purpose is a big move for him. Had thought we had covered everything about his truck but, not used to thinking about a different thermostat and plenty of anti-freeze, etc. Indeed a Floridian such as he will be having to quickstart about his environment for, shall I say it? Survival! Fortunately he is among friends there, who are advising. Oh, and clothes is important like, proper over and underclothing. Shoes, boots, body lotions! So yes, guess I will try and be content here with my cup of something.

  13. Bats in the house last month. Deer & turkeys this morning, an eagle flying over circling while out with the dogs 1/2 hour ago, chipmunk in the window well yesterday, and now this was knocking on my walkout door 5 minutes ago. What next? Good thing it is a painted turtle. I hate the big old nasty snappers.

  16. Power compression may be an issue in a big venue, but seriously, if it is an issue in a domestic listening room you may want to consider turning the volume down before your ears get ripped off your head.

  17. Ok I have to go do some grass and listen to some music. I know what your thinking............ cut some grass with headphones might sound better, but since the tractor just needs someone to steer, and it does have a cup holder, might as well make it fun.

  18. Oh you're not suppose to sniff butts like Jake does? I've watching him and doing the same with my dates Well it depends, if you run into someone who likes that you could be in for a strange time, or at least quickly rule out some if they don't pass the test.

  20. With all the storms that came through the Chicagoland area lately one of my friends lost his Denon receiver, im not sure of the model but it sounded decent for what it was. Anyway i offered one of my receivers that is no longer used but he wanted something new and having recently lost his full time job and working only part time was on a tight budget and picked up the Onkyo TX-8020. Yesterday i went over and swapped out the old Denon for the new Onkyo and we took it on a test drive using his Walnut Klipsch Forte's expecting nothing spectacular and was dissapointed with the results. No clarity, subpar dynamics, sloppy bass, screechy mids with grating highs. I have heard my share of budget receivers, even i purchased a new $50 Sherwood on closeout from Circuit City for basement use a while back and think even the jippo model Sherwood was a step up from Onkyo's budget buy. My advice, if you value your music save some cash and get yourself something decent. Empty pockets ? Buy used.

  23. Interesting! Was thinking Cali- could use, not the winds, tides but some moisture of of the Hurricane. Haven't been following in the last day but, too much rain, not so good either. A nice slow steady like Idaho type of downfall is called for.

  26. I am a little opposite, I had never known Best Buy had Magnolia in them. I was always used to visiting the Bellevue and Seattle stand-alone Magnolia Hi-Fi stores. Their demo rooms are quite impressive, not as impressive as Definitive Audio's demo rooms but still out of my budget. The Bellevue shop had a $100K, full McIntosh theater set up.. About $99K above my budget during that trip. Haha!

  31. The Forte II has a very nice overall sound and can deliver lower bass notes but the Chorus will give you a better kick in the pants with the cast 15" ported woofer especially under high volume. The Chorus in my opinion has a better live concert sound but the Tractrix horn of the Forte II will sound more mellow and easier on your ears. Both have their strenghts and weaknesses, its a coin toss if you cant hear them first. Both are priced decent if the cabinets are in nice shape, i would go have a look at both sets before they are gone.

  34. Murray has averaged 5.0 yards per carry since 2011. How hard is it to figure out that you need to give him the ball? I love the coaching incompetence that Jerry thrives on.

  35. He is in for a shock, I would think he doesn't even know what cold really is but is about to find out. I am the same way, I love cold, but I love cold in the South, NOT the same as Minnesota cold. Someone from Minnesota would not even bother with a jacket in our winter.

  37. I have them side by side right now and have been a-b ing them for the last few weeks. They are both great speakers, but I like the Corns better. I have had my KLFs for 16 years the original owner, now with new xovers, and ti diaphrams (hi/mid). Something about the mostly stock corns just captures me. It might be that my couch sits a bit low and the cornwall is the perfect height, whereas the KLF is a bit tall. The KLF does have a better low end, but I like the midrange of the Corn. So the KLF does the HT and the Corns are my 2 channel. If I had to pick just one, I'd take the CW over the KLF. However my wife, likes the KLF over the CW, who I would think has the better hearing being so young and has been much kinder to her ears than I to mine. Lucky I get to keep them both...

  40. 30+ years ago most people could afford very decent audio even if great sound wasn't a priority with their lifestyle. Now days you have to live and breathe music to justify the cost of great sound. I think its cool Magnolia is making one last push to get more of the general population to come in and get the hifi bug. I also like seeing so many great brands, but disappointed to not see Klipsch there. A couple of K's hooked up to that 275 or one of Mc's SS amps would likely send the rest packing, unless of course you had a high browed, horn hater plopped on the couch

  41. In the past I've found that just setting a date and posting the event details will result in the kind of turnout you're looking for. It helps to make sure it works with some of your closer friends so that you're not overwhelmed by all the crazy people that will show up...

  42. Doesn't sound quite right. Corner placement does take advantage of boundary reinforcement and effectively increases sensitivity in the lowest octaves quite a bit. To change the impedance would require loading the woofer like a horn does, and I don't think that the speaker operating in 1/8 space i.e. corner placement is nearly enough to do that.
