  1. Ok folks we're getting the band back together for one night and one night only. A new toy we received at work, dtel speaking of getting high. How about 180' in a aerial work platform. Ok for some not so cable talk but tube talk. I decided to hook the turntable back up. Found out I had the tubes swapped around. But now back to vinyl playing.

  2. Tarheel, you are motivating me to get back at practicing that difficult instrument they call a guitar. I definitely prefer the electric when finger tips are not calloused. The electric strings are not as brutal on them. This is going to be one of many New Year's resolutions. To pick it up and practice at least one 20 minute session EVERY DAY. Better yet, three separate 20 minute sessions. You are very wise to take face-to-face lessons, especially if you have a good teacher. There is a ton of stuff on the web, but none of it will observe what you may be doing wrong, such as posture, etc... One tip that really helped me with chord changes is to form the chord with your first finger first, etc... Not sure why, but a lot of folks the tendency is to start forming the new chord with the pinky and then working to the index finger. This is not as effective because most strumming is down with the first chord strum and it gives you a few nano seconds to finish forming the chord while beginning the strum. Unfortunately I do because no cell phone service is reliable in my rural area. I typically have to go outside and climb a tree..kind of like Green Acres dude climbing the telephone pole. Not using a phone myself I find that really crazy, it's like that everywhere. I told my wife if a meteor were to take out satellites and cellphone towers a big part of the population would have a nervous breakdown and just stand dumbfounded as to how to get things done. Like driving, is what's going on with your phone worth dieing for ? What are they thinking ? But the birthrate has probably dropped of because of cellphones, until they come out with an app for that . Saw a rear end collision at lunch. No brake squeal at all. Knocked the car ahead into the next car ahead. Want to bet it was cell phone related? Saw the same scenario about a block from there a couple of months ago. It's getting serious folks Took my Mom & Dad and my sister to see a house totally decked out with Christmas lights last year. Kid came from nowhere and plowed into the back of us. Luckily no one was hurt. First thing I asked him was, "were you texting"? His delayed answer was not at all convincing. He didn't admit it, but he didn't say no. Be safe and cognizant of upcoming cars when admiring Christmas lights! Alright, alright . . . I will take the guitar out of the case . . . haven't opened in 8 years . . . an acoustic with a pick up. Dog chewed some vinyl cover off the amp but it still works well. In late 2007, got t-boned on my Harley by a kid in a Nissan Pathfinder. Wound up with 11 surgeries and a 1 1/2 in a wheelchair before I learned to walk again. Got another Harley 2 days out of the wheelchair. I might as well break the guitar out again too. Yikes Man! You been through some stuff there -- glad that you made it. Big guitar fan here--have 9 of them on the floor & wall next to me right now. Was getting close to another purchase; but, i have a line on a pair of McIntosh MC30s and if the folks sell them to me, i’ll send it to Craig for a rebuild…if the folks decide to keep them--i’ll soothe the heartache with another guitar.

  3. Yeah, was not supposed to get off the sidewalk. Then wasn't supposed to survive the ambulance ride. Then wasn't supposed to come out of the emergency room. Then never was supposed to walk again. Wife said I needed a hobby after the accident while I was in the wheelchair. That's when I got into HT and my first Klipsch speakers, and back into two channel vitnyl after a 30 year hiatus. But these days all I have left with is a fashionable limp and too many Heritage speakers. I am blessed. And life is good!

  4. 238 satellite speakers like bose cubes and 4 subs, it's for the latest 238.4 technology, (not released just yet) it's a perfect match for 4K TV's and 4D, Yes 4D, the receivers now spit out specific scent's to match each scene. (do NOT watch porn or anything with a lot of horses)

  5. LOL! You guys kill me! Don't you get it? The curtain is like a Rorschach test, Klipsch gives you an amorphous blank slate, and the human mind fills in the blank with whatever it wants to see! And you guys are all wrong! I think I see Amy behind the curtain...

  6. Hey......duder is getting the band back together! I'm out of "likes" already Heading out for breakfast with two other old geezers at 7:30. Rhetor when you mentioned a fashionable limp I pictured "Chester' in one of those old westerns.....Gunsmoke? Steve between you and my LF you have a total of 16 guitars! Yikes! dtel.....when I get haircuts my friends say which one did they cut? Mostly just trimming split ends. Jake ate and is back in bed.....third day of his diet. Went to the dog park and he had a good time. So did I. A young, long legged lady wearing black leggings was a treat to watch. She was throwing a ball for her dog "Rosebud" and every time the dog brought it back she would have to bend over to pick it up You never get too old to look Cheers Gents

  9. Alright....question for today... Who "eats" coffee beans? My 20-something kids do so once in a while. I don't ... My middle-aged teeth wouldn't like it; and I am not going to substitute a teaspoon of Folger's ground coffee to simulate the experience!

  10. Honduran coffee roasted in Indiana . . . interesting. I may be stating the obvious (or maybe not)...but coffee is not typically roasted at it's source, as it would have a much, much shorter lifespan if so. (I know nothing of Folgers and the like...) Whole raw beans are shipped then roasted closer to the point of sale, so yea, my local guy gets stuff from all over the world then roasts it here in Bumscrew Indiana.....

  13. Everyone NEEDS a good, reliable watch just in case that newfangled cell phone runs out of charge or the battery dies. Who knows?? That watch might save a life in the future!! Remember .... 'Needs a watch.' Hope this helps. Have a great day, gang. Gotta run. if the sun is in its ascendency -- you should still be in bed. Otherwise: Find the Big Dipper and North Star. Locate the two stars in the outside dip of the Big Dipper. ... If the month is before March 7, subtract 1 hour per month. If the month is after March 7, add 1 hour per month. ... Double the time. ... Subtract from 24. ... Add one hour if you are on Daylight Savings Time.

  17. A long time ago I worked across the Industrial canal just outside New Orleans from Luzianne coffee, they roasted coffee all day, the smell was unbelievable, and back then I didn't even drink coffee.

  18. From the Indianapolis Business Journal (12-13-14): Now, Indianapolis-based Klipsch is responding to the challenge by returning to its roots—emphasizing premium products, including home speaker systems costing $2,500 to $10,000. Meanwhile, it’s backing away from lower-priced headphones and lower-priced sound bars, a product that’s popular with consumers but also has fierce price competition.

  19. I think Crown Royal would be good too.....but I'm old enough to remember Royal Crown Back from breakfast.....cook knows us well. If we ask for two eggs he gives us three and doubles up on the hash browns. Drinking a third cup. For sure RoC! 16 oz'ers with a bottle that would go slam through a stop sign...in those days...JD Come to find out, all cholesterol is a good thing...in other's opinion. No statins here... Actually should clarify that I am not a medical doctor but, thinking most here know that.

  23. Mornin' gang... coffee is down and trying to get a handle on the day. Finish up some client projects and get Baxter's Xmas shopping done. Semi-retirement can be confusing. Should be full retirement soon. Rhetor .... it's a blessing you are still with us. Life is indeed good ...very good. Tarheel (Chuck) - Will find a dog park for Baxter as soon as he gets the obedience thing down a little better. He's trying. Sounds like jake does well in the park. Will try to check back later. Cheers.

  26. Normally, I'd agree with this statement (in many cases, anyway). However if you look at this article, it may give a hint of what's to come from us in 2015 and beyond. Remember that just because people could buy it doesn't mean it is not high-end. http://www.ibj.com/articles/50886-after-setbacks-klipsch-amps-up-focus-on-high-end Also note that what's under the cover in the teaser vid does not tell the whole story of what we are announcing at CES. Just a big chunk of it.

Dam door came out looking new, minus holes Wacco Nam Vet came and got his car after four hours, no biggie, have as yet to hear any gun shots, so i suspect his soon to be exwife is still alive, somewhere Breaks over, coffee waiting

  30. received a slick aluminum case for my raspberry pi today.. I'm sure this setup is no where near the Auralic gear recently discussed, but it gets me to 95% of my listening goal and at a fraction of the cost. For now, that's good enough. Some day when I've finished tweaking speakers and properly treated my room I may revisit the playback device(s).
