  1. A couple more shitty photos for you. (CES is chaotic as heck. I don't have time to do my actual job haha!) We have a real photographer there, so she'll have a butt load of great pics. I'll have to snag a quick one without the grille too for y'all. Also, reminder that these speakers are conceptual. Nothing is final. Anyway, enjoy...

  2. You read that right. I can't give much more information other than we are displaying a concept of a "Heritage-Inspired Wireless Speaker" in our booth at CES this year. That's not the official name however. We reserve "Heritage" for speakers that PWK had direct involvement in. Details: Works in pairs. Tower and Bookshelf models. Walnut and Black finishes. Cane grilles. Klipsch Stadium Technology (with improved drivers and tweeters). Designed, Engineered, and Built in the USA (I'll work on getting a better pic) I'm VERY interested in hearing what you guys think about this, given the limited info we can give you at this time?

  3. It is strange how you can form such a connection to people who you have never met in person. In many ways I feel like I know many of you very well, but at the same time like I don't know anything at all. The internet has certainly changed the way we live.

  4. So sorry to hear of Boxx' passing. Wish I'd had the chance to meet him. Class act. Did not check in earlier ... our granddaughter Aubrey is in Children's Hospital with a severe respiratory condition. She's just a year old. Any prayers would be appreciated. I probably won't check back in until very late or even tomorrow. Thanks guys.

  5. As most of you know one of our longest running threads is the 3 Minutes To Miller Time thread started by jacksonbart. When that thread started to fizzle out a while back our friend Boxx took it on himself to do renovations to our virtual bar to rekindle interest. What I would like to do is to have a happy hour salute honoring our friend on Friday starting at 5:00 EST and ending when the last word has been spoken. You can toast him, post videos, post a favorite song in his honor, say goodbyes, post thoughts, or just find comfort in being here with us. Its been a rough week for many of us. Maybe this will be the catharsis we all need to move into a new year without Boxx to steer us. I hope to see you at the bar on Friday. Attire.....casual!

  8. Mornin' everybody. Thank you for your prayers and concern. Aubrey is still pretty sick but is at least stable. We should find out test results today sometime to see if we're dealing with flu, etc. Will drop in and see her today. On the carb thing, I dropped 45 or so lbs going low carb and gluten free, pretty much along the lines of the book 'Wheat Belly' and the cookbook that goes with it. Pretty effective and you can adapt and adopt what you like. My better half is a good, creative cook and she makes some great meals. Do not miss the sugar or bread. I'm well past the age where my body can take the abuse! Thank you again and bless you. Chuck

Diabetes forces me to do no / low carbs, (grandmother, father, sister, aunt all have it) so far if I watch my diet I can get away with taking 1 pill a day to keep the sugar manageable, back in late Oct. numbers got out of control affected vision (that SUCKED) Now I am more careful with what I eat / drink If I can maintain 200-210 at 6 ' tall I am a happy camper...................If only I had known my future back when I was 20, I could have made some lifestyle changes, at 50 it is much harder to adjust and maintain

  11. I have been off for a while (much more frequent reader than poster) but I was also saddened to hear of Boxx's passing. There are a lot of quality people on this forum, he was certainly a prime example and he will be missed.

  13. Think you are seeing things. Seriously Chad. Have Klipsch send me a pair and I'll gladly take better photos of them, plus I'll give a formal review. Anyone else think this is a great idea? I think ALL Forum members should get a pair to "display" in our homes and become "salespeople" for Klipsch and have our friends and family come over to "preview" these.

  14. Chad said that heritage was reserved for PWK designs. These are simply inspired by heritage and that is immediately evident by the cosmetics of their cabinet. I really hope these make it into production

  16. I know I'm gonna sound like a jerk, but Moray...chill out. You're starting to sound like the crazy "the end is neigh" fruitloops on the streets of NYC. The flagship reference lines rolled out later in the year last time, I don't know why you're so quick to think that won't be the case this time either. I don't understand why people think the pulse of the forum is the only pulse of Klipsch - surely there are more than a few thousand owners of these speakers. The negative Nancy thing is just becoming old, dated, and annoying.

  19. If there is excess it is my intention to contact Alex and his desires on where it should go. Without any pressure or strong suggestion I will suggest a fitting use would be to help feed the Klipsch employees at the April gather he'd intended to be at and where we were so looking forward to meeting him. It's my intention to do a large color print to put on an easel both at the feed and at the gathering as a memorial. I suspect some newer members may think we are going a bit overboard. They will learn, if they stay, there is nothing "virtual" about our friendships here. Dave

  21. Hey guys.... I just posted on the Boxx thread. I just had to try to tell Alex how sad it has made me for his loss. I kept going to the thread yesterday....but each time my eyes would fill up and that big lump in throught would be there. I have never met any of you guys yet.......but somehow there is a close connection with some.....and Boxx was one of them.....I just needed to share that with my coffee buds... Now this carb thing all you guys are talking about.......I'm one of those guys you hate, I am 5' 11" 175 lbs and have been that way since I was 16 years old. I don't eat a lot of junk food and I do work out quit a bit. I am one of those that can not sit still.....I run 100 mph all day. A few times I have gone to train and I might partner-up with a "new" guy......they might be in there 20's and half way through the workout thay look at me and say........"how old are you?".....I just laugh at them...... Well on the down side of being like this is I don't sleep really good, my mind runs at night....oh well.. Gota run, I'll check in later

  22. We have a dealer locator at http://www.klipsch.com/dealers. I plugged your zip in and chose 50mi radius and found these. I'm not sure which will be carrying them but you should call them and make sure that they will be (ask them to if they say no, in other words). If you read my post, you'd note that I said the very same thing about having the right to express an opinion. I personally don't care if someone wants to trash our products, if they've had a chance to see/hear them in person. I also don't care if a certain product type (i.e., HT separates) is not someone's cup of tea. That's all good. People can say what they want. They should also recognize they have no idea what we have planned for other lines in the future. I'm not discounting Moray's contributions to the forum in other topics, however all I ever see from him lately is this sky is falling stuff and it gets old -- so I can express MY opinion to that point, no? This is the last thing I'm gonna say on this. Let's move on.

  23. So does it work? I want to start drinkin, dont know if i need to keep some brain cells open. It works great Mark. Today I hope to get the software installed but its not opening correctly on my pc. Earl I did get the premium upgrade and it sounds great. I sign in to Spotify through FB and to edit my account on Spotify I must supply my user name and password. Can't remember either so don't know if I'm getting the higher resolution without editing my preferences No adds now though

  24. Not missing the carbs that much so far. Been doing Atkins and Stillman diets off and on since the late 70s. Stillman allows no carbs....just meat, eggs, and cheese and 8 glasses of water per day. Breakfast is great with cheese eggs and sausage or fried eggs and bacon. Chicken salad or cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce with mustard and chili for lunch. Steak or seafood and mashed cauliflower or steamed broccoli for dinner. Atkins cheese cake with real whipped cream and toasted almond slices for desert

  27. The Best Buy "Reference" series IS exactly what you are describing. They're merely the old Icon series dressed up in Reference colors. This Reference Premier series is a direct successor to the Reference II line. The center you mentioned(the RP-450c) is half the price of the RC-64 because it is NOT the RC-64's successor. It's more likely meant to replace the RC-62. There have been no successors named for the RF-7, RC-64, or RB-81. However, the RP-280 looks to be an upgrade for our current RF-82ii (RP-260 = RF-62ii, etc...) So what I'm trying to say is, aside from the largest of each type of speaker, the Reference Premier series looks to be a proper replacement for the outgoing, high quality Ref ii series.

  29. Better buy up while you still can. No more ten inch Reference, eight it it. KLF20 KLF30 CF3 and CF4 will be getting very expensive now so will Chorus and Chorus ll. Or you can buy the great little speakers that Klipsch will be selling and you can sit closer so they will be almost as loud. Best regards Moray James.Enough already. It's been stated several times that the RF-7II and RC-64II will remain in production for the foreseeable future. There's no need to rush out and scoop them up for fear that they'll disappear overnight. This new Reference Premiere speaker line simply updates the majority of the Reference II line. All the flagship Reference II speakers that didn't see an update (RC-64II, RF-7II, RB-81II) will remain in production except for the RS-62II. I'm sure the flagship Reference II speakers will see the Reference Premiere updates (new styling, new horn design) in due time. All the gloom and doom baffles me. Chill.

  30. Hey Chuck.....my best to Aubrey. Let us know how she is doing. I know what it's like to have respiratory problems. I volunteer with Rescue Connect, a dog rescue group. Today I took a yellow Lab to the vet to get a health certificate so he can be flown to Florida for adoption. I had to wait for some time and the dog and cat dander really got to me. I had to leave him at the vets to go home to get an inhaler I rarely use. All better now but it does make you a bit anxious. Kai, the 75 pound male lab is a great dog. He has a skin condition and we discovered a hematoma in his left ear. He was so well mannered and took right to me (I always have treats). Spent four hours with him and hated to leave him at the day care shelter. If the adoption falls through I may see what Jake thinks of getting a young brother. I feel more than a bit somber posting here knowing Boxx is not perusing forum activity

  31. An attitude I would like to see given up is from this forum's rants about how their host company operates. Klipsch let's us play sandlot football in their back yard and we are egging their house. No more Klipsch = no more Klipsch forums... I brought my boys up with this saying. Lift up those around you, or they will pull you down.

  32. Moray, you are a super smart and sensible guy. I always respect what you have to say, but I am a bit concerned. I like the Klipsch forums. I hope they stay around. In order for that to happen, Klipsch has to exist. They are not operating like this because they WANT to. They are operating like this because they NEED to. In such a small market, loudspeakers is a very competitive one. Not only that, but people are restoring old well made speakers which reduces the new speaker market even more. One last thing. As it was stated before. If we want change, we need to talk to the retailers. The biggest ones are likely Newegg and Best buy, but I may be wrong. On this little side alley of Klipsch, we cannot effect change without making it make sense to the bottom line. Klipsch is a business. This forum is a neighborhood. Sorry to counter-rant, but I think there is just too much of this ill will going on.

  34. Okies, this is what we've asked for. Yellow rose of Texas for a fine Texan. The card will say "From your friends of the Klipsch Community." Of course, the banner will be printed nicer and the whole thing won't look exactly like this, but we've faith the florist will get close. It's a bit over 300.00, but we will make up any shortfall. As mentioned, donations via PayPal to damallette@mallette.org. If you can't do PayPal you can handle it as you see fit. Many thanks to the Perfect Audiophile Wife for handling the design details and florist. Regards, Dave

  35. I feel the absence of Boxx.....one of our own. There is an empty chair here in the Cables and Coffee coffee klatch . I friend some folks here on the forum because there is some commonality or admired trait that draws me to them. My friend Boxx had many. He loved this forum as was evidenced by his writing, his wit, his calming influence, his creativity, as well as the many friends he made here. His dedication to this forum is unmatched. Boxx dropped in from time to time to share a cup of coffee with us. He always classed the place up. He will be missed. Cheers Gents

  40. I'm more interested in seeing if these will help satisfy Moray James. A "Heritage" in a semi-modern style tower. Pretty interesting. I've never liked the light colored cane grills but most of the Heritage guys will love them. The black grill looks better IMO.

  42. All true, everything can change quickly, take advantage of the pleasure of everyone around you, it's not permanent. This is truly shocking, you know in a way even without meeting in person you really get to know the real person. How someone really acts in many situations is more of a true indication of what kind of person they are than looking at them face to face. I know it's always said people act a certain way behind a computer keyboard, but I think the good side of people can easily be seen even through a computer, it's really hard to hide over time.

  44. Thank you sir. That means a lot for the offer. I teach and coach in Arlington. It is difficult to look at his stereo equipment, or want to listen to music. All of these things I shared with him, l remind me of him. This has been one of the hardest days of my life. I have lost a father and best friend.
