  6. What about if your first 5 posts are 5 different things for sale? You could always institute a set up similar to headfi, they require 15 legitimate posts before you are allowed to post for sale adds I kind of agree with the policy it keeps the trolling down a bit......................I have no issue with folks selling there wares, At the same time alot of the drive bye's using the forum for strictly monetary gain I am not to keen on.

  7. I'm taking the day off to spend with my wife and 2 daughters. We are driving to southern Indiana (Nashville, Brown County) to check out the fall foliage, and the local shops….I actually like shopping Nashville is a quaint little town full of craft shops, leather, candles, coffee, souvenirs, but not too tacky. I hope the girls don't have their faces stuck to their phones all day! Wish me luck

  10. Dang, Mark is a youngin. Took three days to catch up, and still ran out of likes. Always like Meddle, Relics and UmmaGumma for the PF's. Nice photos of almost everything, from dtel to JL,etc. Jason, Hansens' Natural has some good products alright. Last I looked, still had to order online from them or phone I guess as they are west coast. Their Monster Energy products have taken the globe by storm, of course, even their coffee flavored energys and Chai tea. Oh well called a plumber, Nancy did so will give him a hand. Thinking it is a minor plumbing job, and Carl is preoccupied with his own project, which is looking good, BTW,,,smiles to all, meanwhile... :)

  11. Said not to keen on, did not say anything about a problem, I dont see garage sale as a place to MAKE money I see it as a place to offer gear. I dont personally flip gear on the forums for profit..........If I offer something for sale here it is because I think it is a great deal and I am either passing at my cost or below Besides most of you bums want stuff given to you

  17. I have gotten to a place where I and select others were considered tops in our craft, Problem was managers felt that was a reason to make us the GO TO guys without any type compensation Put us on the hard tasks and take the schluff artists (my own copyrighted term, for lazy bast%$d with zero initiative ) and put them on the meaningless gravy tasks It tends to get old quick and leads to a serious morale problem

  18. Did you hang out with me in the late 90's, cause that is exactly what we did, wait I still do that. I had settled down quite a bit by the 90s; but, possibly.

  19. Afternoon folks. Tied up with paperwork crap this morning. Insurance and tax stuff .....yechh. As far as the garage sale section is concerned, it's not a 'problem' that drive by's may come through but I'm a lot less likely to extend any measure of trust or confidence to one of them than I would to a forum member with some history. Have a great rest of your day ...............

  20. C'mon, isn't that what the Garage Sale section is for? Monetary gain? Again, as long as it's legit, not a dealer, if they offer something of interest at an appropriate price, sell it, then leave, what's the problem?

  21. Thanks Ceptorman and BigStewMan, they both sound great too. This whole Klipsch thing started out wanting some tunes while working in the shop. Now I'm trying to figure out how to keep the cars out of the way so they don't interfere with the soundstage.

  23. Yeah, I lost my password. But honestly I don't think I had ton of posts anyways, but yeah, 1 post and you guys rock. I had my friend check the connection the night I thought it blew. He was taking a ribbing from me about how his soundbar was so good. I am sure it is great compared to your tv speakers and all, but really, I told him he should listen to a pair of real speakers once. And he was laughing because he was like, yeah those old boys blew a tweeter. I bet he purposely looked back there and didn't check those wires properly. Then again, he might have looked back there and thought, what the heck is all this, all I have is a soundbar? But anyways, before I get too long winded, I will say that was the issue. Loose jumper cable, so add me to the list of people that were too dumb to check that 1st. Well, I did, but not personally before posting here. So I have too much faith in my friends ability to check a wire I suppose. But thanks for the help, quick responses. And I even appreciate the 1st post and you want us to help you? I can be a smart *** myself, and my cancer has not touched a bit of my humor. You guys rock, and thanks to your help, now I do again too.

  25. Okay here's tip to get off early on Fridays (those of you that can't just take off whenever you want)...take the contents of your "In Box" and mail it to yourself. You get to leave early, and on Monday morning, you get it back in the mail. I've never done this; but, it was used by someone in my organization. I did have a guy that worked for me ask if he could leave at noon. I asked why. He said the local radio station had a car driving around town and if they saw a car with one of their radio station bumper stickers--you'd win a hundred bucks. So, he wanted to cruise around town for a few hours. at least he was honest.

  27. Got our 99 Volvo V70 2.4 liter engine used with 113k on it installed, total cost, with new heater core which blew when the timing belt broke for 3k...total. Haven't looked but would be good to know if interference or non-interference engine. When timing belt breaks, on an interference type, damage is done to valves, possiibly piston. In any case, 11k is waytto much when a used engine installed, or another SUV can be had for around half that. Anyway, good luck! Usually timing belt good for 100k between changes so 84k, abit premature. Of course, you are way up there so, probably way off base, I am.

  30. Liars on Parade......................I personally can not stomach this , My television already has an inferiority complex from the dozens of insults and profanity's I hurl at it daily from the news.................Watching Hours of the Bastards would be more than my heart could stand and I swear the remote would meet with the screen in an unholy manner Snippets on the news had me rolling hot. How that piece of trash can get up there with a straight face and speak about law is a joke and a slap in the face to anyone with enough brains to see past the political persona. I bet Gen. David Petraeus is happy Look what he got for mishandling Classified Information. I love how Sanders thinks he knows what the american people are tired of. This POS has not had a hard day of labor in his worthless life, A Career Politician (I would not Pizz on any of there teeth if there gums were on fire) I better stop before I tell you what I really think and get banned

  34. Hey guys, so I pulled the trigger and bought a set of MCM 1900s from Miner Mark. Had a great time visiting Mark's man cave and seeing the progress on the restorationof of his MCM1900 stacks. Mark couldn't have been more helpful. After the tour, Mark and my Son in law helped me load both stacks in the Uhaul for the trip back to Susanville. I spent the next day vacuuming and cleaning the surface dust, dirt, cobwebs and general grime. Once done, in order to satisfy my generally impatient manner, I hooked em all up hoping all the drivers work. Bingo, no problems, all the divers are firing. My neighbors might be a little concerned. Anyway, so far I'm having loads of fun. Next step is to tear everything down, patch, fill and refinish.

  37. You do have a point, as we are in danger of traveling down the slippery slope. In this instance, I think as a group we are staying at the top of the slope, talking "about" the political game, instead of discussing the politics themselves. To be honest, I haven't seen the "right wing vitriolic diatribes" that have you concerned. We all view the world through our own political filters, so if that's how you see it, I can respect that. +++ Edit: I just went back and re-read the other posts. Joe in Post No. 15 does go on a rant, so you do indeed have a point. OK, two points. But in Joe's defense, I have a feeling if his army was in the middle where the democrat army was on one side and the republican army on the other, he'd attack both ways.

  38. In my opinion, there is nothing better than a mixed down master tape (or direct copy) on a good machine. It's like vinyl with a CD black background. Now this is for 1/4" 1/2 track 15ips recordings and not the mass produced slower speed 4 track tapes of the 50's, 60's and 70's. I don't think reel to reel will ever return to its glory days. It just won't appeal to this day and age of instant gratification. For me it is like the Japanese Tea Ceremony; part art and part ritual. Also the law of supply and demand has the price of admission set very high. YMMV Here are few sources for reference quality tapes. thetapeproject.com ultraanaloguerecordings.com opus3records.com mastertapesoundlab.com Here is a picture of my machines. The Tascam BR20 in my go to for serious listening. The Revox C270 my other 2 track machine. Although the Teac X-2000M will do both 2 and 4 track. It's more a consumer market machine like the others.

  42. Good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the cancer thing. OTOH, we have a good crew here and do share such matters. You should know that you have our support as far as that is possible on the Internet and forum. Keep the faith. The tweeter is by far the most fragile of components in the speaker. But if you have not been doing anything naughty with your speakers it is a bit of a puzzle why it would fail. It happens. Others here have suggested you can get a whole new unit. I would have said you can get a replacement voice coil unit, even from Klipsch. But see how that goes as far as parts availability. If you're in the Chicago area I could visit and help. But not having a car, I'd have to take public transportation. I'm busy next weekend. But after that, let me know. WMcD

  43. If you ride (or just like bikes & motor sports) this will be a great Blu-ray to check out. This new effort is 40+ years from the original documentary On Any Sunday (1971) by Australian film maker Bruce Brown (which included Steve McQueen & other riders of the day). On Any Sunday the Next Chapter (2014), by Dana Brown (Bruce Brown's son) captures the love affair with today's bike culture. Covering everything from MotoGP, Motocross, Bonneville, Pikes Peak, Daredevil Robbie Madison & even your everyday riders both young & old. The father, Bruce Brown is known for his many award winning surfer documentaries such as Endless Summer. His son, Dana Brown also brought us; Step into Liquid & Baja 1000. On Any Sunday, the Next Chapter is released with an Atmos track & while its not going to blast you like a Hollywood blockbuster, it does provide an effective sense of realism throughout. The audio is always crisp, precise & accurate, helping to put you right in the middle of the action. If you enjoy bikes, you'll certainly enjoy On Any Sunday, the Next Chapter. I had a smile on my face from start to finish.
