  1. when i was in 7th grade, i was convinced that i had syphilis (VD portion of our sex education class) the literature was rather convincing. Had to work up the nerve to tell my Dad that i had VD. I didn’t want to wait much past dinner because i didn’t want to enter the latent stage of the disease. It never was easy being me.

  2. AWOL since Friday, but back now. Will have to catch up on some likes. Happy VT's day for all to whom it may apply. Took Better Half Unit to an annual dance with some other friends Friday night. As we were dancing to a nice slow song, I suddenly remembered a poem I composed for her maybe 3 years ago. And, yes, I chose that moment to recite it. Here goes..... "You don't have to bi*ch and whine, Cause I'll be your valentine." I know. Incurable romantic. Luckily, she has a sense of humor and cracked up. Cheers, gang.

  16. Finely feeding another one of my hobby's. It's been quite a few years since I passed on all of my Ham gear. Iv been keeping my eye's on the web for quite some time and Tech is coming along just fine in the shortwave world. After a feverish three day's, iv decided on the best/latest ease of use radio receiver for world wide listening. Last time I did this I was 10, getting shocked, touching and getting burned by Tubes/solder iron, and stringing a long wire antenna(s) in the rain! Most Hams start out that way Next week the antenna goodies should trickle in, then I get to just sit here and push a button and see what ISIS is up to http://www.palstar.com/en/shortwave/

  17. are you able to (or have a friend who is) or interested in building larger cabinets for your Heresy? You pretty much end up with a Forte which will play lower than a Cornwall does?

  18. Valentines day is very special to us. On this day in 1995 my only brother died at the age of 38. He was a sweetheart and prankster! Also on this day in 2010, my only grandson was born. Took most of the sting out of the day. Already we see so much of my brother in him! Life is incredible... As for the "lovers" part of it... You have noooo idea! We started as a one night stand that never ended... Happy valentines day to every beating klipsch heart!

  19. We were thinking of putting one of those in, I never realized there are so many different types. There are over 300 different Japanese maples, all named trees. All the good trees are named and grafted, the best book is by J.D Vertrees, it was printed by Timber Press out of Portland Oregon and it's hard to find old picture, still in pots

  20. 31.2 degrees here and raining... Not a nice day outside at all. Amazing what a 900 foot change in elevation does for you. Got a text message at 7:30am saying school is on a two hour delay. Supposed to make it to the mid 40s in the valley, but I'm not seeing it happen. Bruce

  24. I agree...not at all alike. yes and not sure. speaking from quite of bit of experience in this matter, most of the time, i just THOUGHT i was being profound. LOL, and probably more accurate than not. How can the stoned guy sit there and tell the straight guy being stoned is better than being straight? Everyone has their own experience. Many people have tried various drugs, including MJ, and simply not "digged" them for whatever personal reasons they might have. Maybe it makes them too anxious or paranoid. Or too scatter-brained. Or whatever. I can't see how either side can pass judgment on the other.

  26. i’ve successfully removed an appendix (on beginner and intermediate level of video game Life & Death). On advanced level, the patient always died. So, if you need a routine appendectomy, i’m your guy. Will work for food. Playing the game once and made the first cut, and my doctor character was removed from surgery and ordered to immediately report to the chief of staff. While there, the chief of staff began with “operating without anesthesia will not be tolerated at this hospital...”

  32. Just burnt my tongue and upper lip on hot coffee. I have tried other things with dr. pepper and it was good. I will have to try that one. Before we went the reception, we were told that there wouldn't be any booze . So we came home right after the wedding and had a couple of cocktails before we headed to the reception. Then we found out that it was just a cash bar.

  33. Can't sleep and its dam cold out, 11 degrees to be exact. Went out for a cigarette and it was a short one so not to freeze to death. Started up the Mr Coffee beforehand with some original 8 O Clock to get my day started, hope its a good one.

  35. You have a great mother in law! If you want to try something different - we like regular makers mixed with Dr Pepper - it was an accidental discovery for us but it's a great combination, in our opinion.

  37. We are sitting at 11 degrees. The only thing that would make the wedding seem interesting. Would be for me to booze it up. However i don't think this is that type of wedding. Plus i dont know much of anyone. Maybe a flask with Makers Mark is in order. Sent from my SM-N920P using Tapatalk

  38. Return to Grand Haven, MI. That'll get you re-acclimated to snow and cold.

  39. We were thinking of putting one of those in, I never realized there are so many different types. Haha…it sounds like the wedding isn't high on your list, you just kind of slid it in there If I ever felt like drinking something warm like coffee, today would be the day, the windchill is -15! I do have to go to work for a while, to prepare for Monday, so I'll be outside. I'm usually off in the winter, but the odd weather has me very busy. It was 55 one day last week, then cold again, I'm ready for spring. Have a great day everybody.

  40. Saturday morning up early. Finishing first cup, thinking about second. Homework on the agenda, grocery store, than a wedding. Breakfast was frosted mini wheat. Can't wait to hear the rest of Gary's news. Well got to run. We were thinking of putting one of those in, I never realized there are so many different types.

  41. i’ve lived in that climate before. But, i’m kinda spoiled now ... for instance, i don’t think it’s been under 76 degrees in quite a while. Last night was one of those “don’t even bother with covers” when i got into bed. Some winter weather, huh. I’ve heard Bend has 300 days of sunshine -- i hope that is true.

  42. Guys like me & Elden probably don’t do so well in that cold weather anymore. I think i need to get acclimated to it again, as I’ve decided it’s time to get out of the bright lights around here. Bend, Oregon has moved to the top spot on my list...they get some snow and it can get chilly there.

  46. THAT is a dream scenario! Closest we have is a charity list, which I think they just opened so now anyone can sign up, but the state is actually delivering road kill moose to the homes of those on the list. Usually still plenty of good meat, and no longer are people processing moose on the shoulder of the road like they have been forever. (Dark icy roads, what could go wrong?!)
