  1. No. 3 @dirtmudd Steve Hillage " GREEN " Virgin Records 1978, Printed in UK

  2. Those are nice, but the kit came with all the metal sheeting, but for a framed building those would work great. Well happy anniversary. Good deal, and in Oregon they decriminalized heroin and cocaine, quite a bit different. They passed medical marijuana in Mississippi by 68%. With all the stuff doctors can prescribe which can be bad this should be nationwide, much less side effects than most reception medicine.

  4. Well round #1 of cleaning up everyone else's leaves is now complete! Supposed to be warming up the rest of the week and hitting 70 on Sunday. Then next week it takes a dump and keeps going down. My rear is dragging but it's only 1 of 4 every year. So much fun living in Sherwood Forest! Couch is looking pretty good but I'd just go to sleep and be up all night. Ugh!

One way to get out of Sherwood Forest. These leaves falling from the neighbors trees is killin me. Happy Anniversary to you BOTH! Gonna leave this right here for @dtelsince he's leaving for the weekend!

  13. 007 had to dodge one or two, from both directions at once. Ducked the one from behind using his Ray-Ban glasses, got the one from the front. The one from behind got poleaxed from beneath his crotch. Nothing short about Bond... James...

  14. My turntable is a real dust magnet (see picture) and my collection of vinyl dates back to the 70s and 80s and has seen lots of listening sessions. Many have scratches, and they are greyish rather than black because of accumulated dust. Today was a real dry day and the static elektricity made sparks when I touched the record. I used that typical black carbon fibre brush, but it was of no use: I could literally see the dust fly from the brush to the record. Hate that. Started doing research on the Internet out of frustration. Now I see today as a historical moment. Some guy on a website listed a clothes duster, a sticky roller, of which the paper can be peeled off when it is no longer sticky. I have that, I thought. I'm going to give it a try. My first attempt was a scary miss. The roller was so sticky, I almost could not remove it from the record. I rolled it a couple of times on my trousers, so it was a bit less sticky. Much better. I avoided the round sticker in the center of the record, and rolled from the center to the outer track. See picture. Turn the record some 60 degrees and clean the next piece of the pie (consider it a pie chart) until you covered full 360 degrees. The result is simply spectacular. All the dust is removed and the elektrostatic charge is gone too. I only hear the deepest scratches. Have been going through my collection tonight, cleaning the dirtiest (most favorite) albums. So good to hear them so pure. These rollers are sold by Aldi. They come in six packs with a plastic handle, but I didn't use the handle. They cost €4 (I think).

  15. For static and dust control you can purchase an anti static gun Something like the Zero Stat - I have a different brand from the 70s

  17. By popular demand "cycles" has been added to the CC&C thread title. Do we need to add "cross bows"😉

  18. Dang, nice power on the Denon. Have you read the former post earlier about his plans for vintage HT? He has 2 systems... @ILI

  19. Denon: Output power (20Hz - 20kHz) 130W+130W (6ohms) 110W+110W (8ohms) I can understand that a remote would be handy, but since we are talking about turntable pains, I think a remote is less relevant. Unless you know of a remote that also puts the album on the platter and can turn it from side a to side b. 😉

  20. Sale of woofers fell thru so they are still available - shipping is the killer on these - price from Cali to Ohio was $72 - I may just keep them and find someplace to store all my old audio gear - selling stuff on the Internet can be a lot of work for not much $$$$$ - dragging them to the mailbox place and getting shipping bids etc etc etc and then bringing them back home and doing this sometimes over and over again ---- with possible Covid exposure - for $100 - doesn't make much sense to me - I might as well just sell my blood or get a real job again. 🤘

  22. Welcome, you may still prefer the bass of your KG, but given the passive on bottom front, and comparable build to a forte having its passive on rear, you will have a different sound signature. Similar, yet different to a sealed Heresy, and a forte departure in design with the passive radiator in front. 12 inch like the Forte 1, not as 15 inch on the II model. Anyway, if good enough condition all around and you are happy enough knowing what you are getting, think worth your time and effort for a project. Think you are saying reveneer instead of revere, think would look good. If the grilles and corners good also, especially if you are looking at changing grill cloth if desired, anyway yes. Would say $300 or a little less. But yes having owned a pair. May have said more than you asked. Hope it helps...several things can be done. Let us know if anything more. Thanks!

  23. I agree that this record release is not musically as good as the solo / 1st release

  24. Large systems like that are amazing, and amazingly expensive. Sounds like state of the art, but with all that power it has to be, one second of that not doing what it is designed for would fry many things quickly . I remember we once connected a transformer in a chemical plant and from the factory it was marked backwards. It was maby 5' high 3+ feet wide and about 6' long. We thought we were fine but marked backwards we connected as marked. When it went to go online we had backed up about 50' just to be safe, we were safe except for our underwear, it almost got ruined. It made the loudest noise and shook the cement foundation so loud and hard it was shocking. It was built in a heavy steel case I think filled with oil, if not it would have been a bomb and killed us all. High current like that is amazingly powerful and does not give a second chance, were used to normal house current which is really very little, on purpose.

  25. This has been a great forum to read up on ... I just came across some Tangent 500's for $325 in good condition ... and I currently own and love the KG 5.2's. My 5.2's have the oiled walnut veneer and look amazing. They are upstairs in my house, and, in an effort to not completely piss off the neighbors - they offer up more than enough bass to serve my needs. The 500's seem like they have the same components as a Forte II/Heresy ... this is very appealing and I am sure the sound is similar. Given the prices of Heresy's and Forte's these days ... I might grab the Tangent 500's and re-veer and update and add bracing to the interior. Could be a fun project! Thanks everyone for your thoughts and suggestions.

  27. After this LP I even would have had no more desire to listen to more music from Gilmour or Floyd...and then also with trumpets....LOL , No I don't want to get this one. The only good thing is that the record in the video is spinning ... Doesn´t have the class of his first solo debut album ..... imo......

  28. Think that is pretty cool myself. Almost done some 2s but got ones. Happy with the bass but will be getting one more powerful with more than 50 w per channel soon enough. No sub... thanks.

  30. He was, so he pulled out his Beretta .25 auto ladies gun and shot Joe, all in one superquick a tin, while ducking his deathstar. Heartshot...M took it away and gave him a Walther P-38. Disgruntled Bond tried to Palm the .25 upon leaving... Not quick enough, the old man caught him.
