  2. Hi all, I hope you are all safe and doing well. Just popping in to apologize for the extended maintenance yesterday through today. It went a bit longer than I'd hoped, but the end result is I was finally able to move the forums to a better web server and updated the underlying software. So, the forums should be a little "snappier" now. If you run across any odd issues with the forums, please let me know here. Thanks!

  8. Inspired by dtr20, I made a K700 lamp, of my own. I used a die-cast K700 I'd bought for a stillborn monitor project. I had a friend turn a pair of adapters for the horn's throat and then cannibalized an old lamp a GF gave me 40 years ago. The base is mahogany, bought in Chattanooga, planed in Huber Heights and finished with linseed oil at mi casa. I could not see the figure in the grain until after it was planed and had to work a little to show it in the finished lamp. The plaque was a gift from Hunter @JRH at the first pilgrimage, called "The Klipsch Fans Tour Of Hope". I kept it in my Klipsch file folder for over 20 years until i found this use for it! I hope Mr. Paul's soul gets a smile.

  9. Having a combined anniversary/going away party for some friends of mine tonight. Going to be spinning the tunes. I’ll be bringing my 5 Heresys. I set them up in my basement and ran all five in All Channel Stereo mode on my receiver and they sound great that way. No subs unfortunately because my THTs are way too big to move up and down the stairs but the Heresys should do just fine. I’ve got polka, Motown, disco, line dances, pop, oldies, swing, a little bit of everything. I have Amazon Prime and will be playing the music through my laptop through the Amazon Music app. Funny how easy it is to DJ these days compared to when I started doing it about 30 years ago!

  10. Listen Now is the only studio album by 801, whose live debut was released in November 1976. For this release, the group was officially billed as "Phil Manzanera/801 In 1977, hoping to capitalise on the success of 801 Live, a revised version of 801 (now known as Phil Manzanera/801) recorded and released a studio album with additional collaborating musicians including Kevin Godley and Lol Creme of 10cc, and Tim Finn and Eddie Rayner of Split Enz. The album is mainly the work of Phil Manzanera and Bill MacCormick, with contributions from Francis Monkman, Simon Phillips and Brian Eno.

  20. K R A U T R O C K ! Embryo is a German jazz rock and world music band. The group was founded in 1969 by Christian Burchard. Over the years, more than 400 national and international jazz and rock musicians have contributed to the group, which sees itself as a collective, including many well-known jazz and krautrock musicians.

  25. Despite the sensitivity I’ve found that 15+ watts have sounded better, but some amps just don’t sound good. I have a pair that I use when renting cabins or small events and have been through lots of amps to settle on a 100 wpc class D. Got a third amp you can try?

  26. Something brought this up, an individual with H IIs lacking bass. Well they aren't Jubilees but with good placement mine rocked different neighborhoods in NC, GA, and FL with this record hundreds of times!!

  27. & in the corners, play with their positioning some and put on Jeff Beck's "There & Back" My IIs could make some decent bass, had wool on the floor and heavy curtains. In the big room the walls were 1/2" wood all around. Once used a 3" decoupler made of plywood covered with foam, that was in an apartment. Before changing the speakers always think of the environment they are in! *Mine loved my old 125 wpc YAH RX-1100

  29. End of the day, if the Heresy III is the sound you want, and the 70th walnut is the look you like, paying a few hundred dollar premium for it isn't that big a deal. Personally, I'd be looking toward the Forte III for not much more money.

  32. Have them make a $10K donation to the Klipsch Museum of Audio History and we will have a full KSP 600 System (thank you JC) along with a full set of Montegators set up over there at the lake with a mixing boards, etc. and they can go hog wild. They can even sit in the lake in their boats and we will pipe it out there. Former Roadie/FOH man Tim Cooper will run it and whomever is playing will sound so, so good. If they want a sample they can come in March for PWK Bday Bash event and hear them for themselves.

  40. Was talking about a study earlier here about a trial with a supposed antiviral. Do no think it is this antiviral, just look a at the video. Must have been clinical trial Ed Before and used against SARS. If effective as this man says, even for a propylactic besides treatment, should be fastlaned and currently around a nickel per pill...

  42. BTW Tom, look it up but Mc may only have 100 wpc stand-alone SS amps. Not certain about any others by them higher. Would only consider at least one solid amp at 150 wpc to make a real difference. Higher at 200 + to infinity maybe better. Limited here so others have more to share.
