The first album that I am spinning for 2024 is a fabulous Prog release from 1972 Even though one speaker is partially obstructed by a Christmas tree. I spun this afternoon ...Blue Öyster Cult and Saga with Silent Knight in the early evening ....Saga´s Images at Twilight and finally Al Stewart´s Time Passages I had dinner some minutes ago and feeling a bit tired ....gonna watch a movie now .

Higher, to a small amount. This subject has been debated since the Caveman days. From what I recall, there is too much to consider, such as the resistance of the cables, the construction of the speaker, the EMF produced by the speaker... and more, than to go by only the numbers. It seems to hold to be true when looking at the DF of tube amps or the loved KH730 Twin (DF of 30). I am not sure what curve it produces on a zy plane, but the gain on the x plane moves very little while adding a lot of y. I have read that anything past 40 is close to meaningless and is more for sales literature than for how well the system will sound. Knowing this, I still want a Sansui AU A907MR. Not because of the 0Hz to 300kHz, THD of only 0.003%, DF of 150, or that it weighs close to 75 lb, but because it sounds great.

Best $800 bucks spent. to me it sounds like a whole new speaker. all the things about the III I liked are still there except now there’s: 1. More coherent frequency response 2. Smoother frequency response 3. bass is waaaay better - deeper and tighter, I even had to check if my REL sub was on. It wasn’t. 4. Soundstage is wider and deeper 5. No etch to sound at all if in doubt do it!

Hey Babadono--- I turned 75 last October. Yup, still out in the desert where I imagine I will someday just walk out into the 120-degree heat and become part of the landscape of bleached bones in the Mojave Preserve. People Chow is still a dream - HOWEVER, I do eat incredibly simple foods in very modest amounts. My menu has about 12 - items on it, which is in some way consistent with the People Chow idea. But when I first worked on P.C. it was 1993 and I was mostly using "carbs" to make the mix. UGH! I am almost a zero-carb guy now. "All you need is meat!" I'm hibernating for the dang winter here. I'm freezing in this 50-degree weather. Can't wait for that 100-degree mark which usually comes in early May. Keeping busy with speaker projects and my very newest "entertainment" of restoring 70's era receivers. Little damn jewels they are! Happy New Year, Amigo! Mark

Ok, it's official. My sleep schedule is toast. 5:15 then 4:15AM I'm crashin? Up at 2PM yesterday and noon today? Sucks to be me. Was going out tonight to make a guest appearance but decided to stay home. The wimmen can slobber all over someone else tonight. Covid's flaring up again along with mucuspalooza. Who knows what's out there and I don't want it! Now I'm trying to decide what I'm going to wear to the living room to spin and watch all the Dick Clark wannabes. 😂 Slipped downtown to fuel up and the State Troopers are out in full force. Saw 3 stopped cars here in town. The local guys were just crusin as usual. That pretty much iced the cake for me but I drink diet when I'm out anymore. Just don't wanna deal with morons. Ohio passed the recreational pot law this fall and right now the State is weaseling around on HOW they're gonna do it cause they don't want it. Ppl are burnin right in front of the cops in most places and it's legal. As soon as they crawl behind the wheel it's a different story. They nail 'em. Never saw so many morons in my life hence the field day for law enforcement. Funny watching it all unfold til it's finally signed, sealed and delivered. Just another slice of life from Duckburg. 💪😂

Pretty much official Harb's is leaving blue after the bowl games are over so I was told today. Ppl have been saying that but it's pretty much etched in stone now. Yea, they took one for the team for sure.

Followed up with the plans today, took a break because my new neighbor friend made me some fantastic ham and beans. I had to eat part of it one day and part of it another. So I got the stuff I needed last night and made some cornbread to go with their Sunday dinner today. Kept two pieces for myself and there's enough buttermilk to make another batch. Maybe tomorrow. So I'm kicked back. Enjoying lunch on a drop cloth hahaha only a painter could find that funny

Glad you are happy. After owning forte II for 30 years, I upgraded to IV's about a year and a half ago. They are a wonderful speaker.

I thought the peakiness was from the parallel sides (doghouse to outer side walls) for the 10 or 11 inches. Then John Albright said the Peavey FH-1 cabinets had it too, but I've not read that anywhere else. Whatever, it never bothered me when I had La Scalas. I may end up with some again one day. If I do I will keep them, as I've missed them as soon as I let them go.

exactly, that is why i have noticed that speakers with inconsistent power response (related to polar response) will tend to sound very different in different rooms. toole did an interesting paper on that. take care, roy
