  2. I had the same promo copy many years ago as I´ve had worked as a prof. dj . I always received new LPs and maxi singles from the labels as promotional material to communicate and evaluate the audience's response with the labels. I had sorted out this record 😁 You mentioned Prince .. you´re welcome

  7. "Green Grass and High Tides" is a song by American Southern rock band Outlaws. It is the tenth and final track on the band's debut album, Outlaws. The song is one of their best known, and has received extensive play on album-oriented radio stations, although it was never released as a single. The song is notable for having two extended guitar solos that stretch the song to nearly 10 minutes.

  8. I am STILL tweaking the system in the livingroom. So, I broke down the Bang and Olufsen system. Pulled it from the rack/stand, set is all down on the brick fire place landing with a black carpet pad to rest on. Moved two very fine, wood, rotating CD racks. Put them in the former audio rack to the right. Re-wired the whole deal AND, found that the U-Turn custom table is the EXACT dimensions as the B&O gear! It sits on top of the stack and outside of the color, matches up nicely as if a vintage B&O table was there in it's proper placement! All of this amounted in being able to SPREAD the Forte' 4's further apart at 10' center to center, and what a great result this produced. I hang out here more then in the main listening space on the first floor . The lighting units are new, but I have other plans for them. The next upgrade will be the new track lighting which will be over the mantel and hearth area. My neighbor's home by the same builder included in ceiling spotlights. I have those in all 3 of my bathrooms, but were not included over the fire place for some reason, so, the new lighting will take care of that. Here is what it looks like at the moment during my vinyl spinnin' .

  15. Thank you! So I am not so alone in my Rega 'saga'. Glad you liked the OM2 Blue. For the price point, it really is a nice cart. Enjoy that Ania, I am sure it is some notches above for sure! Thanks for reading my story .

  19. A few years back I did a security gig. They were the main act among several stages and days of acts. It was the final day and a Brewery owner, Master brewer and Master Brewer's wife had the good fortune to have me escorting them beyond the ropes, up close. Like, at the stage inside the barricades. They were eye level to stage monitors. The wife she blew a gasket. That guitar and those vocals. Could not blame her one bit. I drank the brewer's beer. Cheers!

  21. The last thread he was in was with Craig. Craig was just being Craig. I was certainly tired of Henry acting like the SME on all things. Now that I think about it, Henry and Randy disappeared about the same time…hmm

  26. I purchased my Planer 3 in 2016 with Elys MM. From day one there was something wrong. Took it in. Cartridge was defective. Lucky Needle Doctor in Minnesota didn't have any Elys in stock. Replaced it with Ortofon 2m Blue. Extremely happy with the 2m Blue. Skeptical about going with Rega Cartridge again. But I plopped down $900 for the Ania. My first MC cartridge. Awesome cartridge!! I have a whole new vinyl experience now!! And long stories are accepted here!! πŸ˜†

  27. Thanks for the info. Stand by for RANT . I have the P6 and that was with the Exact II cart. After I ordered the U-Turn turntable for this system, I ordered it with the Ortofon Blue cart. I fell in love with the way it sounded. So much that I set and tested both tables side by side with a pair of matching LP's and synced them together with a switcher. I was left speechless that the OM2 Blue had the SAME bass response, but more clarity on the high end, AND a wider stereo image too! How could this be? AND, the Rega cartridge had a mis-matched output with the right channel being slightly louder which I would have never noticed if not compared. $300 vs. $600 cart. Well, as some know around here, I took my P6 to my local dealer and had them remove the Exact 2 cart and install an OM2 Blue. As much as I wanted to believe the Rega cart was the better of the two, I was wrong. I send best wishes that your Rega cart continues to provide you great sound and you have better luck then I did. A side note: that Rega Exact 2 was a REPLACEMENT for the original which LOST a channel completely!, Rega covered it and sent me the second one. I am not here to bash the Rega product, but for what you pay for a mid line table, they can still have issues. I replaced the SUB-platter with a Grove Chaser solid aluminum unit with jewel bearings because the original was made of plastic and had a WOBBLE of all things. Ok, sorry for the long story, but just wanted to be honest.

I'm sitting here at midnight Saturday nite watching Syd and Bri playing rugby in the same Las Vegas stadium they had the Super Bowl in. The place if full and the crowd is going insane. 8-0 Syd and some Brissy dude just clotheslined a dude from Sydney and they got a penalty. He flat levelled him. This schiit is BRUTAL! No pads, no helmets just nads. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

  40. A question about the correct connection of the mains cable. On old devices with transformer power supplies, you can measure the voltage at the housing vs. earth. If I turn the mains plug 180 degrees in Europe, I have a worse sound if the AC voltage between the housing and earth is higher and I have a better sound if I measure a lower voltage. This type of measurement does not work for devices with a switching power supply without a real transformer. The Node is such a device. I have found out which way round the mains plug has to be so that it sounds better to me. I would like to know whether my subjective impression corresponds to the correct recommendation. So my question is, on which side of the two-core Euro cable should the "hot" wire be regarding the Node? Looking from the back, left or right? Or is there a general way to find out the correct polarity of the power cable for switching power supplies, other than by ear?

  42. Yes. All that including the soon to marketed "Golden Ear Maximizer" system. Too funny. I'm loud listening to the Heresy 1s right now. Any vocals, wood or metal instrument sounds correct and placed well, including nylon string guitar. A snare brush sounds real. I can even easily discern the difference between an electric bass played with fingers or a plectrum. Suitable resonance throughout the range. But that's using my onboard outside ear flaps. Just saying.

  44. I did not run the amp for very long, just a few minutes. I was just surprised as heck that it worked at all, and wanted to hear it. I know its in no shape to be operating right now. Yes, I have been lurking long enough to have a very clear idea about Craig's capabilities and reputation, and was glad that replied to this thread. I am leaning towards building my own chassis so that the integrated has the fit, form, and function that I would like for it to have. I am pretty "handy" and have a good background in electronics, among other things. I can solder fairly well, use a meter, and read a schematic, so I am hoping, with your guys' help I am not biting off more than I can chew. The challenge will be that tubes are particularly new to me, so Craig, there are probably gong to be a lot of questions coming your way, particularly about the circuit and modifications and such...I hope you don't mind!

  45. One thing the seller did mention early on is that he was not opposed to exploring other options such as greyhound or baxglobal. Has anyone tried to ship via greyhound before? Their website says that they handle oversized and heavy weight freight. I got quoted for just under $100 per speaker. I wonder if its safer than UPS.... Thanks for all the input, everyone! Sorry, I didn't mean to start another cable/interconnect war!

  47. Ok, so I have a few potential receivers lined up that I can get that I am serious about. *Denon DRA 825r, used, OK condition, no remote(i need a universal anyways), $150+35 shipping *Denon DRA 835, used, includes remote & manual, great condition, $150+18 shipping *Nakamichi TA-2, used, includes remote & manual, FULLY functional, $150 + ~$20 or so shipping. I believe both of the Denons are of the early '90s vintage, the Nak is late '80's. I believe both of the Denons are 100 WPC, more than I would ever need for KG4s, and the Nak is 50 WPC. The Nak is older, but I keep hearing (reading) good things about the incorperated "STASIS" technology. Of these, what do you guys think would match best? I am still considering an Adcom amp and a Preamp of one kind or another, but the cost is probably going to be double that of one of these receivers, I wonder what kind of performance/sound margin we are looking at though...Hmmmm.
