  1. Yes I've done cold brewing and think I still have the kit around somewhere. I forget the brand name and didn't take the time to look it up but it uses quite a bit of coffee. I believe you use something like a half pound of coffee, pour water over the grounds and let it run through a small filter at the bottom of a funnel type container. Place this funnel over a carafe and let the the filtered water/coffee run into the carafe, store in 'fridge till ready to use then pour the highly condensed coffee liquid to a cup and heat. Makes for a very clean, robust cup. Very rich tasting.
  2. LOL Rich, I am out of the speaker buying business now (temporary)Saving for a car that WILL beat you there Oh, my misinformed friend Matt - But you have no idea what is Already in my garage! And if your dream picture is any indication of your weapon of choice it's best you leave your pink slip at the house??!!
  3. You're too late - just left his house. Flatbed not required - !!! They're just KHorns -
  4. A1 - I don't see those on AGon, maybe they sold. But be VERY careful with one particular Klipsch seller there. Without publicly casting dispersions, I bought a "new in box" Klipsch product and low and behold it was defective. Finally after no help from seller and filing with PPal I just received a refund from PPal. BUYER BEWARE ON AGON KLIPSCH DEALER SALES
  5. Back to the lead topic for this thread "coffee" - there have been many varieties of coffee making appliances mentioned/used, how many use the French press? After a light diner I decided to break mine out for a taste; purty damned tasty. Full bodied, bold, vibrant to the tongue yet easily swallowed with a strong hint of - rich, black coffee! Not bad --
  6. I'm heading down for a session with RB75's right now. Wile they certainly don't match the authority of the Fastlane topped KHorns sitting beside them, with a proper and Musical subwoofer the 75's are very satisfying and I enjoy them a bunch. Without a doubt my favorite dollar spent vs. performance speaker I've owned. (Thanks Z)
  7. Dontcha' think he means $8795.00? Or possibly $879.65? And if so Mr. Matthews you don't own a vehicle quick enough to beat me to these!! Trust me ---
  8. Oh Crap, I'm no more than twenty miles away. Checking my bank balance --- But I already own pristine, highly musical KHorns - whew, that's a relief!
  9. Thanks Diz My son is also a LEO in a smalle suburb outside of KC so while always in danger when pulling over a vehicle his daily grind would be less stressful than your son. But regardless all law enforcement is working under this "dark umbrella" of violence from both side of the badge. My son says the job is getting more difficult day to day with no positives in the near term. Your comments on procedure is that much more difficult here in Kansas where he not only deals with those having conceal/carry privilege but the state law allowing everyone over 21 and who qualifies to own a pistol to legally open carry. So every vehicle stopped has a high % of having a gun either on the person or in the car. When he sees a gun out in the open he asks the person if he will forfeit the gun to the officer during and only during the stop. If no he asks that please make no abrupt move to the gun so that I don't have to do likewise. He now has a young son he loves dearly and although he's a grown man I worry about him daily. These are not jobs to be taken lightly with the burden Now Always on law enforcement.
  10. Not sure you're talking about me but yeah, RB75 tweet driver snapped clean off the plastic horn. They were packed in OE boxes with no visible damaged but a good long toss or drop will certainly break the heavy compression driver from the horn. I just knew something wasn't quite right when I could hear a heavy clunking when moving the unpacked box. Clunking sound from a speaker cabinet??? Yep.
  11. So Lance Armstrong is racing again --?
  12. That takes "cuttin' the cheese" to a whole new level -
  13. Explain you could be spending larger amounts of $$$ on drug addiction, alcoholism, hookers, DWI lawyers, etc. Hifi spending is a very innocent way to blow through wads of cash but much cheaper in the long run. And who knows she may actually appreciate hi-end sound. What she won't appreciate is a call from Sargent Smith asking you to come bail out your drunk husband (and his even drunker hooker friend). Not even 70th Anniversary KHorns will patch up that mess.
  14. Mid-summer is worst time for moving audio gear. Folks are out and about, vacations enjoying summer activities. I have about half dozen pieces to sell and just going to wait until fall. Kids back in school, vacations over most people back to their old routines and spending more time indoors. Bide your time till then, then bump your prices a bit when the fish are biting.
  15. I have to think the complex shape followed engineering plus marketing and/or vise versa. And can't help but think marketing requested a more upscale form/finish not only to compete but to help justify the price point. Five foot tall rectangular boxes with a $20K price point may also see some resistance from our better half's. if a marketer is worth his salt the WAF has to be considered. And yes my Hope group thought the same - KHorn, RFll, Palladiums. And for the crazy price difference RFll by a wide margin. But it was a crappy room with terrible electronics. I highly doubt Palladium owners will use as $800 receiver to drive $20K worth pf speaks. So we didn't hear them at near ther best they all played on the same field.
  16. Can't argue with Mkane with that choice --

    Ford EcoBoost

Direct injection, yes. But the key is small turbo chargers across the Ecoboost line. Boost = turbo.
  18. Come on guys - we run inferior Klipsch speakers and do not have the need for "upper crust" wire. All one needs is good old fashioned lamp cord to provide all the "horn shout" one needs.
  19. NOS LaScalla's - that's different. That's right when I bought my first new pair - gawd 40 years!!
  20. How about going old school - Wash dishes by hand Get a true "ice box" Lots of fans Rocks by the stream or wash board I have an old manual Bissell floor sweeper i can sell you, works fairly well. Still works sixty years later All the above might be considered true character builders But really - good luck.

    What I Got Today!

Hold on A1 - your posting a photo and its not one of high end kit heading your way?? Is there a doctor in the house!!? Nice looking pie, though --
  23. Ohhh - but they sure do sound good
  24. Quickly off the top of my head - MartinLogan electrostatic speakers - Lawrence KS - about half hour west of me. I believe the higher end products are still made in Lawrence, the rest farmed overseas. Sutherland Engineering - world class preamps - Kansas City. Ron Sutherland was the co-founder of MartinLoagn with Gayle Sanders. Transcendant Sound - tube amplifier kits, the famous Grounded Grid. Kansas City

    Hawk Attack

That is bullshit. Call your conservation agents, animal control and, your local Audubon society and see what their recommendations are. Not so sure that is bulllshit Jimbo. I presume these hawks are a protected species? While my recent experience with a mother racoon and babies that picked my basement window well as safe quarters aren't protected my calls to LE, animal control and a wild animal relocation service proved fruitless. I received suggestions only, zero help. Because the well sat under an extension of the house it was impossible to gain access and they could only be viewed from the basement window itself. After a few rounds of the mother standing on her hind legs and chewing/ scratching the subfloor I had seen enough early damage done. Lets just say this, raccoons do not like automotive exhaust and ammonia soaked rags. Well is now secured.
