  1. You are a good neighbor. I do the same for my elderly lady next door. It takes less than an hour and you can see how much these small things are appreciated.
  2. I bought what I believe was the last new dealer unit a couple years ago. They told me Almarro could ot keep up with the demand and with deliveries so poor they cut the line. It seems all others did the same. I liked my 318 but had trouble sourcing tubes that would bias properly so I sold it. The little EL84 SE is a nice piece also and can be had for fair dollars on the used market.
  3. Agreed - "Best of Show"?? And this being outdoors with a single stack.
  4. The sound of one Klipschorn playing is equal to but no less than one half the sound of two Klipschorns playing. If not mistaken I believe Mr. Paul proved this via slide rule computations in the late 50's.
  5. I can say this Dean I bought my KHorns already modified with the full Fastlane top hat with his 280hz Elliptrac. They are smooth as butta', excellent imaging just a real pleasure to hear. I have been giving serious consideration to Jubilee clones w/402 but I am blessed with a near perfect KHorn room and after listening last night I just can't imagine the Jubes being THAT much better. Better maybe but at a cost of over double what I have in the KHorns I'm certainly not jumping the gun. These K's are really superb.
  6. Mine were delivered in a Dodge van, top hats removed and it was tight. Looking directly at a KHorn doesn't reveal how large the top hats actually are. They are big, pretty darn heavy, oddly shaped and cumbersome to carry.
  7. Well it was at least referred to as a " large package". Could have been worse, or in other words, smaller!
  8. I can tell you this, KHorns sound great anytime of day and in the morning with a good cup of coffee - superb. A change of beverage might be in order?! Just sayin' ---
  9. Hey Alex, is the Klipschorn script emblem as you show on the above 70th photo available to purchase individually? Or must a complete Klipschorn be attached to it?! Thanks
  10. About time an amplifier built to handle the power hungry needs of my KHorns. And at only 20K for the stereo I surely hope monoblocks are soon available. That should provide both adequate power And channel separation for KHorns.

    Isle of Man

This weekend on Velocity Channel, 11am, 10 central. Men with extremely large ballz racing motorcycles on peaceful, English lanes. Should be fun viewing.
  12. Has "The Stig" ever been identified? What about the US version with Tanner Faust, Adam somebody and the guy that was part of NASCAR? Like it?
  13. I wasn't trying to start the typical forum keyboard "boxing match" saying the Quartets were referred to as Heresys on steroids. This is something I thought I heard in the past and JJT may be correct in that it is the Fortes not the Quartets for this reference. I've owned Fortes also both 1 and 2 and kept them for a while in preference to other well regarded "hifi" speakers. But at the end of the day they lost out to Cornwalls, then all the above crushed by Belles. Now I still have Quartets that have been relegated to forced retirement, KHorns will do that to you, and with a small sub will put RB75's up against Quartets, any day. I've done it back to back. The Q's are still sitting comfortable in retirement.
  14. I know this not a fair comparison with sonic memory being what it is but I've had Heresy's in past two pairs actually both H1's and I've recently acquired a pair of RB75's that I venture to say will give the Heresy a damn good run for its money. Being just a two way with the RF7 pro line compression driver makes the 75 a formidable stand mount. For current sonic memory I also have a pair of Quartets, what some call a Heresy on steroids and when played back to back with the 75 it was no contest for me. The RB was all over the Quartet hands down. Not quite the bass of the Quartet but other than that it was my preferred sound. I'm not a big fan of sub woofers but do have a nice, musical Epos sub designed for music not theatre reinforcement and with a light hand with the sub controls the 75's was a tough combination to beat.

    The tequini

    That's kinda' funny ---
  16. I am not a charts and graphs guy and the way you put it makes perfect sense to me. Thank you Sir No charts and graphs here either. My ears are my guide --
  17. Yep, them ain't a small room speaker. They need room to open up. My KHorns sound fantastic at 15 feet out in center but even more fantastic'er at 20-25 feet away. Allows the bass room to "bloom" if you will.
  18. Well - then it must be the more expensive one!
  19. I have to agree with Heavenly. Most people and I mean like 99% could give a hoot about Klipsch, even those in and around Hope. Hell even most "audiophiles" could care less about the brand. Heritage may be hi-end in price but not considered that by the stuffed shirts of hi-fi.
  20. Ok, we've have the magic shake ratio. Now what about the ice - vodka/gin ratio? I imagine that is critical to the finished product?? Inquiring, thirsty minds need to know, dontcha' know.
  21. Shu, could we name that "The Horn of Plenty", ?
  22. For the half dozen F1 races we attended never once did we sit in our assigned ticket package. Found our way into the into the infield and picked a grass berm where you could view several corners. Other than Top Fuel cars there is, was, nothing more spine tingling than the sound of F1 machines at 19K RPM and you are but 20 or 30 yards away from the track. By far the best viewing in the house, IMO.
  23. Ceptor maybe you can add to this, I heard on a local KC sports show that since this year the race is an official "sellout" it will be the first time in decades the race is televised live in Indy and being so long ago the first time ever to be televised live and in Color in Indy. Is this true? If so what an odd tidbit.
  24. We can't keep up with SE TX with rain, thankfully, but since arriving home from Hope on Sunday I have had 7 inches in the rain gauge in W KC. Emptied it full at 5 in. last night and 2 additional overnight. Might dry out a bit early and more later tonight. Just maybe a dryer weekend? Kinda soggy 'round these parts.
  25. Almost too coincidental; I wonder if CBS knew he was ill and timed the retirement and 60 minutes show as such. Any word on cause of death?
