  1. I never a single woman that made me want to forget the rest of them!
  2. to be honest OP... there probably isn't anything that has not been done here at one time or another.
  3. This was the original question, which clearly is subjective in nature, and all responses recognize this but nevertheless reflect a preference, regardless of what kind of loudspeaker and design techniques are being used. I am not reading the question as such... subjective in nature. Perhaps OP was asking... "How would a Cornwall Compare to a RF7?". In that, what are the sonic and tonal differences and unique qualities to each... not which one is "Better". if we answer in this way, perhaps OP would have a better understanding as to which speaker, and more specifically which speaker line, he might prefer.

    KLF C-7

    Looks like a C7 alright...
  5. 18x20 is indeed a fair sized room... perhaps he has other things in the room that cut down on usable space.

    Sold!

    Does it play 78?
  7. That sounds sweet Schu! I would like to hear your opinion on the difference in the DAC and additional phase control. Sounds like a beast of an avr. Phenomenal... really. technology changes so fast. at this price point I can not imagine getting much better... until you step up in cost. I run pre outs, so the Pio only runs the center channel right now, so amplification is something I wasn't that interested in... but a pre/pro of my liking would have a much higher cost (almost twice the cost) so I compromised. the DAC has been really interesting. I would call the upgrade significant between the internal 24/192 of old and the new ESS DAC in the sc85. still only 4-5 hours on the set p so far. interestingly, the sc35 was much beefier... neatly 8 lbs difference between the Ice based unit and this new D3 class D amp. not sure where the weight is from though, whether it be chassis or amp. Phase and room correction seem much upgraded, and much more modern with a handful of additional features... but truth be told, the SC35/37 is a tremendous integrated amplifier and anyone would be lucky to own one... specially at the prices they are going for now, used... IF YOU CAN FIND ONE.
  8. What happened yesterday Chris... I take it not good things? I think your TAD's would make bad recordings sound worse, and better recordings sound better... if that makes any sense. I always use EQ in very careful moderation... specially in a modern home filling with modes and reflections. that's one thing that makes having a receiver with room correction and multiple presets good... I can switch between those presets to suite each style of music I am listening to. I am with others on Bow/wilk... I was not impressed by them when listening at the critical stage. in the background I am sure they okay. Did you let the guy listen to the Palladiums? Sounds like maybe you need some big horns with 2" drivers... but I don't think that room is big enough personally for something like a Jubilee.
  9. what's your price point OP?... I just got a NIB Pioneer Elite Sc85 for just over $1,000 shipped.

    Your first song

you noticed that to? I thought it was just my system causing sibilance or compressed ugliness at the upper range.

    Your first song

as good as this is... "Selling England by the Pound" on BD is much better.
  12. If they are microphonic... how do you know that isolation is better than immersion?

    Your first song

Dalis Car is generally the first thing I put on... then I spiral outward from there to other known baseline recordings. It also depends on if I am playing analog or digital.

  15. Would something like first watt/pass labs B4 active xo work here?
  16. I take that post back... MS did have bent arms. but it looks to be more for cartridge orientation versus lengthening effect.
  17. where do you think these tubes come from?
  18. I don't think the Micro Seiki's ever had S curves. lately the 12" arm has become very popular... but I still think it's 12 inches in length from pivot to needle regardless if the arm is physically 15 inches long and bent like a pretzel. that is an interesting question though...

    bday/anniversary...

    Nice quite evening for two...
  20. yes it would... change the reference point in relation to the pivot point on a levered action mechanism and it changes the force.
