  1. Corvette6769, Why do you own so many speakers?
  2. An outstanding job and speakers! They look awesome and I know they sound it too! You did very good! Right on... [Y]
  3. A lot of new members are signing up and asking questions here lately. Getting good answers quickly too. This is such a great forum because of its members and Klipsch! The word must be getting out.
  4. 902-8T drivers. Good drivers. Wonderful midrange. 800Hz. I didn't like the way they sounded at 500Hz or 1200Hz. I sold them. They didn't go low enough for me. Thank you. I put a whole lot of work into those A7 speakers. I think they came out nice. It was a fun project. My friends liked them and were sad I sold them. I own too many speakers and have to let some go as needed. Their new owner is thrilled! I know you're having fun with your new speakers. Enjoy.
  5. It was photos of speakers like these, and not the same exact speakers. Big bass bins. It was when I restored my set of Altec A7 and was sufing the web looking at horn loaded bass bins for some ideas. Photo of my finished Altec A7 posted for you to see. I decided to keep mine black. I didn't save the address of the photos of the veneered bass bins, but can tell you I was surprised how good these big horn loaded bass bins look veneered. I remember the photos being mainly on some Internet site that had many photos of horn speakers. I don't save every page address, because it just adds up to way too many.
  6. I really enjoy listening to my Klipsch speakers. It was also a lot of fun for me to refurbish and update them. Seeing and hearing the improvements is very satisfying. Seeing others here on this forum doing the same with their Klipsch speakers sure is great too.
  7. If I was going to resell these at some point, I'd want them close to original as possible. I think they look good black. If you plain on keeping them and prefer veneer, I've seen photos of speakers like these on the Internet that people veneered and they came out beautiful! How you like them so far sound wise?
  8. dtel, I know you're very happy with this system as it serves its purpose extremely well. You did an amazing job on your speakers and I know they sound awesome! Wish I could hear them. Have you or do you have plains to hook up other components to your speakers for a try? I bet just about anything will make those speakers sound great!
  9. I've read it's best to leave them alone. Additives only make it worse. Rubber should last a very long time and foam not as long. I just had to replace some drivers with dry rotted foam surrounds and did so with rubber. They weren't worth repairing.
  10. Nice. Right on. How many frequency adjustments does the EQ have per side? My brother has a 3803 and it ROCKS! I wonder if it has an EQ too?
  11. Since they're painted black and in need of refinishing. Wood putty the dents, sand, and repaint them black. I like satin black. Do a good job and their value will increase. Enjoy.
  12. They look real nice. You did a great job on them. Way to go. I'm sure you'll enjoy them even more now.
  13. She's not bad enough looking to call a woofer.
  14. The best speakers I ever heard. If I win the lottery, I'll be buying me a set of these! You have to experience these. My jaw was hanging open the entire time and I had to force myself to leave the room. It was like heaven. I never imagined speakers could sound like that and I've heard a lot of speakers. Just perfect beautiful balanced music in every way. The lowest lows, mids, to the highest highs. All so very crystal clear. All instruments sound like real instruments are in the room and the singer is in room too. Drums sound just like drums, bass like perfect bass and so on and so on. You have to sit back some to avoid the singer's spit from hitting you in your face coming from out of these speakers. I'm not one to even think of going out to buy these high $ speakers, but these I would.
  15. I got mine today too and was blown away in all aspects! Thank you Rob! Wow... You were right on with this one! This CD will be one of my favorites.
  16. I get: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage or I get taken to a Mallette.org Genealogical Tree Under Construction website when I place ftp.mallette.org into my address bar. http://ftp.mallette.org/
  17. I must be doing something wrong. I can't get there by ftp.mallette.org
  18. Wonderful. You have many good hours of pure music enjoyment in your future. Enjoy.
