  1. They look like they are painted gloss black. I can see wood grain and most piano black speakers are smooth.
  2. I was considering the amp. I have two of those already. What condition are the caps in?
  3. You're not willing to ship anything are you?

    What I Got Today!

    I got a Minidsp 2x4 today!
  5. They're not ribbons, but I use Fostex T90A's as super-tweeters on my Cornwalls. I'd also considered LCY-100's (which are ribbons) but the Fostex were a closer match.

    RIP Prince

I remember hearing "I Feel For You" for the first time (at least that's what I thought) - the Chaka Khan version. I said those synth chords sounds just like something Prince would do!!! Then I remembered the first piece of vinyl that I had ever won from a radio station (WCHB - Detroit Michigan). It was Prince's debut album that featured the smash "I Wanna Be Your Lover" or it was "Soft and Wet" ....what was also on that album was "I Feel For You"!!!! As an aside - I didn't have a lot of money when I grew up - so I had to win all of my vinyl (I had the fastest fingers in Detroit...some of my winings included Debarge Prince Leo Slayer Booty's Rubber Band Frankie Beverly and Maze Faze-O and the list goes on and on!!!! Folks I was young then...like a pre-teen!!!!! Loved music though!!!! I was listening to the complexity of the arrangements more than the words at that point in life. Played all types of percussion except a full set - congos, bongos, glockenspiel, xylophone, if you lived in Detroit in the 60's and 70's ....you played something!!!!
  7. Glad to hear you've "piped over" shipmate!!!! Thanks for your service! Fair Winds and Following Seas!
  8. Kendrick also specializes in restoring the Yamaha NS-1000's - I remember owning a pair of those...good times, good times.
  9. Congrats!!!! I'm crying because Chi-town is so far away!!! However, I'm happy to see someone get them who will enjoy them.

    RIP Prince

Dude was a pianist, organist, besides a guitarist (its been said that there wasn't an instrument that he couldn't play). Not a fan of his subject matter, but his musicality and ability to compose was on the level of Stevie Wonder. A lot of his grooves come straight from African American Gospel music (much like Ray Charles, and several others did). A one of a kind talent indeed.
  11. Yeah, it seems as the only thing they did is get rid of the balanced inputs.
  12. It sure looks like a B&K Reference 200.7 THX....I mean a lot like it!!!!
  13. Y'all know me....if its a great deal in the South - I'm jumpin' if I can!!!!
  14. The Atlas PD-4V was used as a replacement for the K-55 along with the Atlas PD-5VH. Just received a txt from him.....SOLD.
  15. I've called and txt .....no replies.
  16. I wish you lived in Fl, AL, GA,MS, or LA....I'd be all over them!!!!
  17. I have the 37's and can comment on those - I imagine them not to be too terribly different than the 39's you have coming. The top end is smooth and silky; not at all harsh, and crystal clear. You will not believe you are listening to horns. Rest easy. You are going to love them. so no where near a RF7 Totally different speaker. I think you'll like them a lot!!!! However, you're the audiophile version of Morris the Cat - very finicky indeed!!!! I love just watching the different speakers you run through - and wishing I had your job !!!
  18. Well, you do have to remember - it's A1UC that won.....He'll love the speakers, for a month. Then you will see them for sale here !!!! He's not afraid to buy, and he's not afraid to sell either!!!!
  19. Still not a sonic match - very different indeed. Keep looking for that p27c (or use a single p-17b if you can fit it in your space).
  20. I want to use two 5.1 setups (using one single subwoofer) So I just want to have a product where I select one or the other setup. I think it need to receive both setup wires and the act as a bridge selector. Any product link? When I used to work for Domes Audio Video Environments in Chesapeake Va (it's now at the Hilltop location in Va Beach), we had three HT rooms. The first room was comprised of 8 receivers (Denon, Sony, Pioneer Elite) and ton of possible speaker combos (we could choose subs, mains, centers, and rears). This was fairly expensive though (we had the gear because we did custom work and av distribution). This was back in the 90's! So it can be done - I just don't know if it can be done inexpensively. Give Lee or Jeff Whedbee a call a Domes and tell them David from the 90's recommended you. RIP Bro Bill Jenkins of DomesAV!!!!
  21. Condolences and prayers for the entire Klipsch family.
  22. I wish I had that Ref HT system because I'd trade with you immediately!!!!1
  23. Bump!!!! This is one of the best deals I've seen on the web folks!
