  1. It happened to me a few days ago on my Windows browser PC. Almost ruined my New Year, until a refresh let me back in. Has been okay since then.
  2. How about these McIntosh home theater processors? http://www.mcintoshlabs.com/us/Products/pages/ProductListingVertical.aspx?CatId=hometheaterprocessors
  3. Forum member Cantilope posted a picture of his good looking Jubilees here, on page 25, and I was under the impression that the walnut front panel was a Klipsch upgrade.
  4. I just looked at a box label for a regular 2015 Klipschorn (picture in garage sale, alerts) and it states for serial #1 to be matched with serial #2.
  5. These are year (20)15, unit #1 to be matched with unit #2
  6. Hi AaronB123, Congratulations on getting your Klipschorns. They must sound great. I have wanted some 70th Anniversary Klipschorns since seeing that exotic veneer at the Consumer Electronics Show last January, but I already have Klipschorns, so instead I am glad to learn about a fellow forum member, you, getting your beautiful Australian Walnut Klipschorns. This thread raises a question. Do any of the 70th Anniversary boxes have a label stating that a specific serial number Klipschorn should be paired up with another specific serial number Klipschorn, similar to how it is indicated on the labels of my pair of Heresy III shipping boxes?
  7. Are you waiting for her to change her mind? Go big now, or forever wish you did.
  8. Wish I was closer and could visit for your event, and listen to some music on your Klipsch speaker system.
  9. The R-26F has two pairs of banana jacks connected with two metal jumper strips. I am guessing the original question is about removing the jumper strips and connecting one amp channel to each pair of jacks, therefore still using the R-26F internal croossover, but powering the tweeter section and woofer section separately. Using identical amps such as on a multi-channel receiver for passive bi-amping, should be safe enough with the tweeter only getting it's proportional amount of watts from the passive internal crossover.
  10. My Audyssey microphone is attached to a hinged bracket on the end of a boom that clips onto the quick release of a camera tripod. This allows me to "float" the microphone to the exact position desired. If I plan to make any room or equipment changes in the near future that will require re-calibration, I will just test three positions and skip to calculate.
  11. Some of the factory equalized, self powered bi-amped studio monitors sound really good right from the start. Many passive LOUDspeakers will have their owners juggling amplifiers, pre-amps, crossovers, caps, woofers, wires, midrange drivers, horns, tweeters and / or buying more loudspeakers while attempting to get better sound. In other words, studio monitors are no fun.
  12. Lot of good information in this thread. Thanks for sharing.
  13. My question may be off topic but the answer may help me better understand what I am reading in this thread. Would it benefit a conventional amp to place a resistor in series with the loudspeaker circuit?
  14. I have not heard these amplifiers and am not familiar with the details of the design, so I can't comment, but I do like reading about different and interesting things.
  15. A nylon zip tie wrapped around the in-ceiling speaker wire and the metal speaker frame makes a very effective safety leash. I would want a safety strap on heavy overhead speakers even if the mounting posts were made of steel and the screws were properly tightened with a torque limited wrench.
  16. In single wire configuration the amp is connected to a nominal 8 ohm speaker load. In bi-wire configuration with a bi-wire compatible passive crossover that has had the jumper straps removed, the amp is more likely connected to 4 ohm loads. Therefore, each channel of your amp IS more powerful in bi-wire mode and you are using twice as many amp channels.
  17. I bought an ECM mic and a phantom power source mixer when I first started using REW a few years ago, but the mixer contributed too many potential variables, so I replaced it all with a simple USB microphone. I attached a one meter long string to the mic tripod mount to save from needing a tape measure at every different speaker test.
  18. The speakers in the CL ad look familiar.
  19. My REW equalizer selection menu looked different than your picture, which led me to discover that I needed to install the free REW software update.
  20. Your paint job and the light and shadows in your picture make that horn look attractive. It will be interesting to read more of your thoughts about the speaker and how it sounds.
