  1. These aren’t still for sale, are they?! That’s it... I’m gassing up the Honda and heading west!
  2. geoff.

    KP-260

I have seen this on a lot of the pro stuff. I am hoping an external crossover and two amps aren’t the only solution. Curious about this myself, if anyone has the answer I would love to hear it. Thanks for the help.
  3. No real experience. Even that may be an understatement. This week at work we had a problem corporate wide with the server. The second thing tech support asked for was my password. I gave them my password: “such&such” (not real password...) and explained the “&” is an ampersand, not a plus sign. I heard crickets... then he asked me what an ampersand was. We all have to start somewhere. And THEN we become selective about what we are oblivious too! Lol!
  4. ...some very interesting midhorns in the top middle of the second last picture... What’s on the stove?!
  5. Not that I could make the drive to Colorado... FROM Toronto, but I had to take a look at what all the fuss was about. I can’t believe these are still for sale. Spring is a great time to be a buyer! You could get a couple or three hundred for the spare parts alone if you didn’t want them. Picture below is for posterity, once the listing vanishes, leaving us all with that empty feeling deep down in the cockles of our hearts. Maybe even the sub-cockle region... lol!
  6. I am very interested in the answer here from opusk2k9. I would also look forward to hearing back from Drewg once he gets his new crossovers and drivers installed. This could really be the start of a new post. A comparison of available LaScala crossovers.
  7. The serial number will tell you everything you need to know. You COULD also pop out the terminal cup and have a look at the wiring. I had CF-3 version 3’s, the last run, and could not imagine them sounding any better. I only sold them when I got LaScalas. Like the previous poster was saying, just TOO many GOOD speakers not being enjoyed by anyone. The dual woofer punch is a hard act to follow! Take a trip into another room while they are playing and you can still feel them hitting. Congratulations on your purchase!
  8. raeggis, thanks for the link! Here is a screenshot for when this one disappears into the darkweb too. Lol
  9. I have always preferred Star Trek toilet paper. ...It orbits Uranus shooting down Klingons... forgive me
  10. These look to be ‘93’s. I JUST finished a session with my ‘92’s (same drivers and crossover). Man do they bring the music alive! If anyone out there is close to these and on the fence, NOW is the time.
  11. What do you want to try it in? I tried them in my Forte ii’s, Cornwall ii’s and Chorus ii’s. With and without the bandpass filter. Crossovers otherwise unmoddified. In every case they were great, UNTIL you turned the volume up. I think they are too hot for the standard crossovers at spirited listening levels. But I haven't given up on them!
  12. That Geico commercial is priceless!
  13. Holy cow! ANOTHER steal of a deal! GLWS.
  14. I really thought they were on to something here. Maybe just a little ahead of their time.
  15. They never made it past the prototype.
  16. I think complacency is a sickness... lol But there is something liberating about contentment!
  17. Do you think there would be any audible advantage to rounding the corners of the woofer slot in the doghouse? When I was inside mine there were noticeable chips out of one of them and I stopped myself from doing that without putting it to the forum. But my OCD is killing me... I know one of the slots is different, if only slighly, from the other.
  18. Mark, do you have K-77’s already for this project? The B-3 crossover was designed to work with K-77’s and the same driver as that in the K-61.
  19. I saw those, they were listed in the Toronto kijiji ads too. If I hadn’t JUST picked up LSI splits I would be on the 401 heading east as we speak!
  20. Now lay that mid-horn on us! Is it a Faital LTH 142? Crites cast woofers? Stop teasing us man! LOL!
  21. I will probably try the crossovers first on a 2-way Cornscala with the Faital Pro HF200 on a K-510 and Kappa 15C’s below. I am by NO MEANS the sharpest tool in the shed, so here is my humbling question: How do I hook these crossovers up? Just connect the two inputs together the same as jumpers on bi-wireable speakers?
