  1. Kenwood M2a mentioned above. Onkyo M-50x. I have the 504 with LaScala! Also in the house: Carver TFM, HK Citation 16, 22, and a recently acquired Son of Ampzilla!
  2. I was thinking late 70s. Thanks!
  3. I’m assuming the crossover was rebuilt using what was readily available. Those piggybacked caps are a big giveaway.
  4. When we’re these made? Crossover AA, k55-v push pin, k77 square. Haven’t opened doghouses. Crossover redone? Is it just black lacquer over the fiberglass? They sound great! Carver powered! Thank you kind Klipsch friends!
  5. Think of the most overbuilt amp. Now make it a desktop PC. Meant for number crunching and not video games. For the people that make the video games.
  6. Wasn’t meaning to be short. Anyway if you go to Dell support they’ll have all the drivers etc easily accessible. Not sure it will run Windows 10, but Dell can tell you. Good luck!
  7. Pink Floyd’s “Dogs” were intentional
  8. It is, but quite the elder in IT Land.
  9. Just keep track of how much you put in there for when/if you sell them?
  10. I’m gonna suggest you look into some of the offerings from Lepai and Nobsound. Despite being Chinese their performance and quality is pretty good in my experience. A lot of their gear is available from US sellers on the typical sites.
  11. Ordered one today thanks to this post. $138 with shipping. Thanks @henry4841 for the heads up! I wanted one months ago!
  12. Currently using Emotiva basx PT-100 on 2 systems. Good bang for buck, but the remote and changing settings irritate me. Not sure what they offer currently on the higher end, but might be worth a look. On a third system I’m using an Audio Research LS3… Dead silent pushing Polk SDA2 through a Carver TFM-35.
  13. I have Chorus 1 and find them bright with some songs if turned up, but very very good at “reasonable” levels. Very accurate. They are on the keep list. I’m curious about the mid horn on the 2, but hate the rear passive. Placement issue for my space(s). I’ve had KG4 and Quartet and the environmental issues were horrible.
  14. Some people don’t like horns?
  15. Opinions. All opinions. Here’s mine. Laser badge era=higher collectibility (opinion) (to some) Sequential serials? Crites vs. JEM. If your pockets are deep enough you can have both and see which one you like best. Can you solder? I have used both with great results, but it comes down to what end you desire. Listen a while before you decide. You may just not care because you think they sound wonderful. Are all the corners sharp? All labels intact? How’s the finish? Has anyone “varnished” them (hehe)? All of this is important. The price isn’t bad if all is good. Start counting scratches. How are the grills? Every nick, scratch, bump, chip, snag are deductions. Reality is none of this matters if they sound like crap. Personally I would consider maybe $700 for a near mint pair, but I have 2 pair already.
  16. Price and condition should be highest priority. There are many modifications available to improve the I and II. And let’s not forget they’ll probably go up in value over time especially for the nicer veneers. I have both, but never tried an A B comparison since my II are upgraded it wouldn’t be fair to the I. Either way you are sure to be pleased.
  17. I being a fan of vintage Polks (blasphemy) have to say that someone is in for a treat. Unless you go for the SDA the Monitor 10 is the way to go. Good luck with your sale.
