nezff Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Do the 7's need significant power to shine? Currently I have an Emotiva XPA-3 running my front three( RF-82II and RC-64II) but I am wanting to add the RF-7's soon. Will the XPA-3 rated at 200 Watts be enough power? Thanks. plenty of power. Budman Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 hey Bill, when you want me to pick up that other sub[] Quote
Fish Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 Congrats Russ on the 7's, looks nice without the grill. hey Bill, when you want me to pick up that other sub Sorry Russ but I gotts to keep it [8] If I ever find another in good shape it's yours. Stay Frosty. Quote
gsxr1000 Posted February 13, 2012 Posted February 13, 2012 i would love to give all of you answers to your questions on how they sound but i never have them in the same room. cornwalls with heresy sourrrounds in a 16x16 room can't be beat. the rf-7's/64 center/52 rears in the basement sound awesome in a 20x27 room How close of a match are the 7IIs cherry finish to your rsw-15s cherry? blowndc Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Who has the best deals on RF-7II that you gentlemen have found? I've been thinking of getting some RF-83s, but the prices people want for the RF-83s are close to new RF-7s. I'm thinking I may have to go that rout instead. Quote
Shodrewken Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Many of us have purchased from www.acousticsoundesign.com for our rf-7 setups. It seems that calling and speaking with Mike Embers or his partner is the best way to get a good deal from them. I was able to get my rf-7 II's and rc-64 II's for just under $2900 shipped to my door. Budman Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 moved the center up one shelf and put the sub under the center and its working great. had to bring the sunfire stuff down from upstairs Quote
Zen Traveler Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hey Budman nice looking setup but doesn't having the RSW-15 enclosed like that make it sound boomy? [^o)] Quote
willland Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 Hey Budman nice looking setup but doesn't having the RSW-15 enclosed like that make it sound boomy? You would think by the looks of it it would sound boomy but glad it doesn't. In my master bedroom HT setup, I have an RW-10d sitting in my TV armoire and it too is not boomy at all. The RW is not the most musical sub but their truly is no boominess with this placement. Bill Quote

Bill I can see in your situation the RW series would work, but isn't the RW-10d front-firing whereas the RSW-15 has an active rear driver? The RSW-15 is an EXCELLENT sub but it has been reported that too close to a boundary makes it sound boomy and in an enclosed location like that it would appear could suffer the same consequences. blargman Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Hey I was thinking of getting a new amp(2channel) for my system. I was thinking the XPA-2, but it's backordered til April I guess. Anyone have any thoughts on a similar amp for the price? Quote
FRCP56 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 RF-7 II's in cherry are on their way. I can't wait to get the call from the freight company! I became a Klipsch believer with the purchase of the RB-61 II's that I currently use. I can't wait to hear the 7's. Quote
JasonJCarney Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Wow, that's gonna be a huge difference. Your going to be smiling from ear to ear! Quote
FRCP56 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 That's what I am hoping for! I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to get those beasts from the loading dock up into my 7th floor apartment. I'll have to hunt down a dolly or something. The boxes look huge. Quote
blargman Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Is it just me or are the rf-7ii's kind of lacking in the very low end? I'm not one to listen to rap but I listened to this song recently and the bass was fairly weak. EQ'ing the bass only made the speakers distort like crazy. Quote
