Boxx
Every now and then I get (what I think) is a craving for a burger from McDonalds. After going to get something and eating it, I wonder why I wanted it. What can you say?

JJkizak
I liked their hot dogs. They never gave them a chance to succeed. JJK
Wrinkles
Every now and then I get (what I think) is a craving for a burger from McDonalds. I haven't eaten at a McDonalds in years. The food is fine, just always too busy. When I get that craving I head out to BurgerKing. As a recommendation, get a BurgerKing Texas Double Whopper. Comes with Bacon and all the fixin's. Onion rings instead of fries. Probably, very nutritious, heart healthy, etc. But dang. Its good.

With today being Saturday, I may go into Dallas and have a really good burger at one of the local places. There are lot's of places to choose from here. oscarsear
They opened a McDonalds on Lincoln Blvd (Venice, Cal.) just down the street from my grandparents house sometime in the early 60's. It had to have been among their 1st franchise stores. Remember $0.19 hamburgers? Long ago.

DizRotus
Oscarsear asked, "Remember $0.19 hamburgers? Long ago." I remember 15 cent burgers at McDonalds, Henry's and Burger Chef If memory serves, White Castle burgers were 12 cents.
djk
"Remember $0.19 hamburgers?" I remember them at $0.15 There was a Henry's Hamburger nearby with the same $0.15 price, and they offered a 5-pack with a half pound of fries for $0.75, now that was a deal! I wonder how much it would be for 5 burgers and a couple of large fries today? Would $10 cover it? SalesTax is an issue too, used to be $0.02, now $0.
JJkizak
I really like their standard black coffee, seems to compliment all of their breakfast stuff but the price jump to a dollar was hard to take. The worst thing about Mcdonalds is the cleanliness of some of the stores which is horendous. A better analogy would be "pig sty". In the old days (1969) with hand written receipts the 6 lines of people 10 deep would move faster then today's lines with no people and electronic registers.
